1. Well, if you have detuned already I'm not sure whether you will benefit unless yoi are looking to go lower than C#. The issue I have with 5 stringers is the width of the neck and the fact I cannot play in 'auto pilot' - whichis the result of playing for so long on a 4 string!
2. Welcome aboard - a solid bass is pretty much the way to go for indie/rock
3. Welcome aboard
4. Welcome aboard - loving the 'Ray

9. Very nice - very tempting
10.
I cannot deny that it totally is the bomb. It has an immeadiacy that I have not experienced any where else.
Where are you located?
11. The TC RH450 gets my vote, although they seem to have gone up in price recently and may be over your budget
12. I have to say that I'm really happy with how they have voiced the RH450, which I preferred over the Stacatto '51 I tried. I'm guessing what would be most useful would be to get my favourite setting and reset this as 'flat' with regard to control settings - but not sure if I would like to do this either. Notwithstanding what I think it is good that the manufacturer is engaging with the users of their gear and not just looking for big name endorsee's.
13. That didn't take long!
14. Great stuff - I really like Sonic Blue and was lusting after a 65 Sonic Blue P Bass they had in Vintage and Rare recently.......at £10k!!!!!
15. Hi and welcome
16.
Like a different instrument mate - great string to string balance, strong tone right across the register, louder than the active Spector which overdrives the DHA nicely and, of course - they're cream, which is like a go-faster stripe. Stock pickup & electrics went in the bin.
Yep, cream is good
17. The question would be better based around is a Squier 'better value' than a Fender. Let's face it, you can get a Fender bass from £250 right up to £3k and more - I would have no expectation that a Squier would better a £3k bass - but I would think twice as to whether the £3k bass is worth the extra money

Welcome aboard
23. This was when Bernie was in his Selhurst shop wasn't it? Would be good to see some pictures poste up here
24. The only bass I 'won't' take to a gig anymore is my '62 P Bass as I have owned it since '75 and would hate it if it went walkies - not so much the value but more that I'm so attached to it. But it is still my go to bass for recording. I have a stack of expensive basses and take these out to gigs without thinking - after all, nothing like a bit of natural relic'ing
