1. That's what I've been doing with the amplug and the mobile phone connected. Learning "Locked out of heaven" after being inspired by another thread. I'm still amazed at the sound from the amplug through the headphones.
2. Hi, The strings I have currently are Elixir 45 -130 long scale and I play a T-Bass by status. Seeing as the strings are 7+ years old and I need to get the bass setup what are your thoughts on having a 45-125? Will the light gauge give me a tighter B? Is it advisable to mix gauges like that? Thanks David
3. The amplug has arrived and it's damn impressive. Superb sound for the £. I have also installed the ultimate guitar app and they have a ton of tabs. The app allows connection to Spotify as well as looping sections for practice such as solos. Realistic sounds or just the weird midi ones. @Crawford13 I have been watching Scott's lessons online, the guy is good.
4. Yeah, I used to be here for a while. Same account as well. Thanks @bazzbass I'll take a look. Never heard of it.
5. Hi everyone, I played in covers bands for years both in London and Portugal, in 2010 however a series of events meant that I stopped playing. It wasn't anything serious, I was getting married, started to take a 4 year evening degree and our drummer at the time was having his first child, meaning the band was gone. Our last gig was at the Roadhouse in Covent Garden a place I always wanted to play at. At the time I played a Spector Euro LX as well as a T-bass with Mark Bass F1 a Barefaced 1x15 plus a TC 2x10. Sweet setup. Knowing that it would be a while before I got back onto playing I sold everything but the T-Bass. Time has flown and I still lurked here every so often as well watching bass videos on you tube. This week I bought a Vox amplug to start playing again without annoying anyone at home and my question is, what's your advice to someone getting back to playing? I have no intentions of playing outside the house, but I'd like to not get stuck playing the same licks over and over. Also I'm sure technology has improved meaning there are new things I might not know about which are handy for players. Thanks in advance, it feels good to be back. David
6. Where can I find the discount code?
7. I quite like it, the only flaw for me is the inability to connect wireless headphones. Maybe it is possible and I just didn't see it.
8.
I have an E10 for sale for a silly price too: http://basschat.co.u...e-amp-just-l65/
Thanks yorks I'm not in a hurry and I'm liking the idea of integrated effects, so I'll pass on this one. Swift sale....
9. Thanks everyone. I'll check it out. I've been reading reviews on the Fender Bronco 40 with Fuse technology it looks like a nice piece of kit and cheaper than TC
10. I'm back... sort off Back in 2010 the band I was in played the Roadhouse in Covent Garden, London and shortly after we disbanded. I then focused on my upcoming wedding, and my enrolment into Uni for an evening degree which I am hopefully finishing this summer. I sold my Markbass F1, TC 2x10, barefaced cab and my Spector Euro LX 5 and kept only my status T-bass which hasn’t seen the light of day ever since. I would like to go back to playing, but just for fun at home so I’ll be starting shopping soon. I’ve seen the TC 250 208 which I like, tone print is a plus and I would like to get a decent pair of headphones otherwise my marriage will be ruined to the sound of Sir Duke. Other than that can anyone recommend a good practice amp, if it has the ability to connect an external audio source the better. That way I could have both the bass and the songs I’m practicing coming through the headphones. Which leads me to another question, what sort of headphones to you recommend, I have some old sennheiser cans which I might start with, but I have a 5’er and that low B can come out sounding pretty hash through mediocre headphones. I’ll be getting some strings and taking the T-Bass to Bass Gallery for some much needed TLC. Thanks in advance, feels good to be back David
11. Guys thank you so much for your input. 125 votes so far with loads of comments as well. If you have yet to vote please do, it's much appreciated.
12.
BTW if you want people to only pick one option in your poll you should have used radio buttons and not check boxes. I seleceted all the relevant options.
Not sure what you meant by radio buttons, it is the first time I set up a poll though. Yeah some folks will tailor the strings to the bass others are loyal to a brand regardless of the fish.
13.
You should probably add R Cocco and Status.
added for you Sir
14. Evening everyone As part of a project I'm working on I would like to find out what are the top brands used by our large community. I've asked Ped if it would be ok to conduct a small survey and he gave me the thumbs up after I given him a few pink notes. . Please tell me what is your favourite brand of strings and if I miss it from the list please select other and mention it in the posts. Thanks a lot in advance David ps: Mine are Elixir, love the coating.
15. For sale WeSC Oboe Beluga Bought them a week ago and I have found that they are not for me, maybe for someone with a smaller head. Yours for £30, I work in London and live in Sevenoaks so can sort out pick up if needed. http://wesc.com/product/40610 Thanks David
