1. Answer is always no when I'm asked. I used to lend my amp and cabs, then I changed again and just lent cabs, but I just won't lend this rig. If you haven't got the gear, you're not ready to gig. If the issue is transport, you should be able to sort it out between band members, it's in your interest to help your band members get their gear there.
2. Chi Cheng from Deftones had one with that body shape, thinner and more contoured than the Mike Dirnt. His didn't have such an ugly finish though, and probably didn't have the jazz pickup.
3.
A quick question: What bass is this that Rob Trujillo is using? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/comm..._2008-09-15.jpg It looks so nice! I think it might be a Fernandes Gravity 5 string. I've been looking at their prices and they're surprisingly cheap! Has anyone had a go on them?
It's a Tobias, check the headstock:
4. Broke one in soundcheck before, but never during a gig thankfully.
5. Got it, cheers!
6. photos here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...=spector+legend I really need the money for it because I'm buying a house at the moment, but I've wanted one of these for ages!
7. Spector Legend 4?
8.
Spotted this and it frickin annoyed me...why do they let people like Lauren Lavern have any opinion on something she knows nothing about...
not that I want to excuse her being on tv every five minutes, but why does she know nothing about it? How many of us have had a top ten debut album...?
9. Yes, but only for the first few months, and only because I had access to a guitar but not a bass. I still learnt Flea and Timmy C's bass lines on my guitar! I think learning guitar helps make a better bass player though, if you know the chord shapes your guitarist is playing, it helps you play along with them before your ear has developed.

11. Was only on blogs when I first searched, but it's on MSNBC now too, surely they'd check out a story before publishing it?
12. Depends what model it is, they can go from anywhere between £300 and £2000 from what I've seen.
13. Bump. No one? Still collection-only at the moment, not in one place long enough Monday-Friday to get it posted.
14. I love AFI... but I'm a 1999 - 2003 fan, Sing the Sorrow had good songs but was too over produced, most noticeably on the singles, and I didn't really like Decemberunderground. Saying that, I listened to Crash Love on We7 the other day and was much more impressed with it than I was with Decemberunderground. Always been a fan of Hunter's simple melodic lines, and yes, always had great tone, whether he's using a Jazz or Precision.
15. Probably a case of the bridge being right at the end of the body, plus a shorter headstock? Bridge to nut will still be 34" either way.
16. A cab is just speakers, which you'll also need a head for. A head is the amp - pre-amp and power amp combined - to plug into a cab. A combo is an all-in-one unit, amp and speaker(s) together in one box. A pre-amp is what you'll use to EQ and get your sound, won't power anything on it's own though, it needs a power-amp too. Generally pre and power will be together unless specified.
17. 18khz for me, through the laptop speakers. Sure I've done it before through headphones and heard 20 though.
18. Best for SRs is the Ibanez MB100C. Fits perfectly!
19. Bump - will have to ebay it soon due to house purchase, solicitors aren't cheap!! Oh and I'd start it on ebay at £200 so if anyone on here wants it for that...
20.
You've got a week. A whole week. Unless your index finger was once lost in an industrial accident and the surgeons replaced it with a donor GIRL'S FINGER you'll be absolutely fine.
21. 1mm in my country band, and .73mm in my old punk band. Definitely feel I have more control with the 1mm, but need the thinner one for the faster stuff.
22. I never did when I had only played cheaper gear, but once I'd tried a GK Neo 212 and heard what a difference it can make to the sound and yet so much lighter, I was more interested in getting a top spec rig than I was basses.
23. Jaguar Baritone is 27" scale (tuned to B-B ) where as the Bass VI is 30" (tuned E-E)
24. I've never played an EDB, but Ibanez in general are great, consistent quality, lovely slim necks and good tone. I think the Soundgears are even lighter than the EDB if that's a selling point for you. I doubt I'll play anything else now, every time I got off stage with the Jazz my back ached, but I haven't had any problems since getting the SR.
