Used 50w Sound City amp a few times nothing major just general rehearsal and it sounds fab with my Fender Precision quite punchy. Obviously gigging would use a decent 100w plus combo.
Personally i thought the 80's mainstream music was the worst decade ever....but been an old fart born in the early 60's i was privileged to have been brought up on some superb bands and music the late 60's and early 70's music was just a brilliant time to be around.

Was thinking about band introductions.
This from Ian Dury and The Blockheads came into my mind. I thought what a great introduction, especially when Wilko Johnson kicks in lol. Also must of been an in house joke the sax player doing a Michel caine impression as John Turnbull (on guitar) had worked on the get carter soundtrack.
Anyone else have good, funny or favourite examples of band introductions?
Or does your own band have an interesting intro?

Nice one
Tried some flats recently but didn't like them so put the old un's back on....just bought a new set of picato rounds only £17.95 hopefully these will last me for the next decade lol
After many years i'm going to have to change the strings on my beloved Precision i hate new Bass strings, but they have been on a long time now and i have to take the plunge, hopefully i can deaden them asap just don't like the brightness of new strings, but on the upside at least once the deed is done i won't have to change them again for 5 or more years
Artisan i'm a huge Sabbath fan have been since the early 70's...sorry my friend if you are taking this seriously as a Sabbath/Ozzy tribute your singer will definitely have to go to be quite blunt he's bloody awful...sorry....you guys deserve a better just my opinion mind
Every band i have been in i have booked all the gigs, contacted all the members....arranged all the rehearsals ect, thankless job.
Good luck just take a break mate see how you feel then
Tried some they were terrible especially the E and A strings i couldn't even get the E string on properly and totally hopeless at tuning stir well clear total waste of money
Neck pick up full on...bridge pick up just on were you can hear it about 3 or 4.....tone on full.....as i like a warm wooley Bass tone and obviously were you play i would anchor thumb over neck pick up just my preference.....then again i like the Jaco sound over bridge pick up but don't find playing as comfortable
Nowadays i play a Fender Precision so easier for my type of sound.
Bright red Encore P Bass....and not plywood it was a 3 piece wood Body as stripped and burnt all the paint and filler off was a tad ropey lol, but decent starter Bass with a suprisingly nice tone....bought for £50 and worth every penny back then...no longer with me but i'm sure i see it hung up in cash coverters recently

Cry of Love were superb. Audley Freed is one of my favorite guitarists. Another of my favorites is David Grissom from the short lived and now defunct Storyville with Malford Milligan on vocals. We do a few of their songs in our set including;

Thanks for the link sound really good cheers
I never ever clean them even after eating crisps or other greasy foods i just don't wipe them clean and my strings have been on my Bass for years plus i use a foam mute at the bridge....just me....i don't buy new strings either i would simply buy a set of used strings too...often complimented on my Bass tone in the past....i just hate the brightness of new strings...a friend of mine changes his strings for every gig....WHY....what a waste of hard earned cash.
