1. Cry of Love superb band only 2 albums released real shame
2. 45-105 can't remember what they are because i never change them but i think there S.I.T because they were only £14.
3. You beat me to it Bubinga5....Willie Weeks bass playing is on a different scale i was blown away first time i heard this and many years later still does it...probably my favourite bit of Bass playing i've ever heard
4.
That's a ringer for one I used to have, all the way down to the white scratchplate (which is my favourite). I'd buy it back in a heartbeat if I had the chance
That's a beaut i have a Jap Sunburst Precision with a Rosewood board but i'd like a Maple board aswell eventually
5. My personal opinion you buy something you would at least expect something playable and the mess about trying to return something within a set time ect At least when i sold it on the people came to my house and they see what they was getting and the bloke reckoned he could sort it out plus they got nearly £400 off to what i payed they had the chance to take it or leave it
6.
Surely if the action was way out it was a manufacturing problem not the shop? If it just needed adjusting why not do it yourself rather than sell on?
Because the bridge was adjusted to it's limit and i don't know what i'm doing....the couple i sold it onto got it for £225 so i lost nearly £400 on it and they came down to see before purchasing
7.
We do our best in the double bass section to warn against them, basically they are only good as ornamental objects! Some people have spent another £600 getting them playable, £1200 will buy a decent Gedo or European built Thomann bass including branded strings. It's a shame it's put you off the upright challenge.
Hi Pete yes indeed i know £600 isn't much to some folk but it was the most expensive Bass i have ever bought but you learn by your mistakes and the couple who bought it from me....came down to see the Bass first and got it for £225 so i lost almost £400 cheers
8. Bought a £600 3/4 Double Bass from Gear4music it was awful arrived with the action so high it was unplayable I have managed to sell the Bass now but at a £400 loss and obviously I told the new purchasers all the faults but personally i would never recommend or buy from Gear4music again absolute sh*te.
9. Hi Basschatters back in July last year i purchased a Gear4music 3/4 Double Bass Carved Spruce top and Maple back and sides, i've played Electric Bass for many years on and off but always wanted a Double Bass i bought the mentioned Bass for £600 yes a budget bass but it came very poorly set up and more or less impossible to play i have since managed to get rid of it at a loss of £400 Anyone looking to purchase a Double Bass from Gear4music be warned of my mistake the bow it came with doesn't work, the stock strings sound bloody awful it was basically a pile of crap and an absolute waste of hard earned cash but been on cleaners wages was all i could afford it put me off Double Bass for life which is a shame as i had always wanted one and i will never know now if it's something i could of mastered?? So be warned don't buy a Double Bass from Gear4music cheers Bob
10. Good luck mate and keep on Rockin'....Cliff Williams Basslines were always in the pocket...great song, great band
11. Same to you Dave all the best cheers Bob
12. I practice through a small 30w combo on about number 1....i don't see the point in having it any louder never received a complaint about noise ect and the walls are very thin you can hear the neighbours both sides easily so they can probably hear me. But keep it low because at the end of the day your not impressing anyone. Respect
13. Check out Danny 'Mo' Morris on youtube i'm not sure if there rounds or flats but he hasn't changed his strings for at least 15 years and they sound great he's a big old school RnB fan
14. As it reads just curious to know whether anyone as mixed Roundwounds E and A with Flatwounds D and G cheers

18.
I always knew - even back in my yout' - that 'arry was a highly-lauded bass player, but it's only really been in the last week or so that I decided to take a closer look at his work and learn some Iron Maiden songs. Bloody 'ell!! This is a workout! I started with Be Quick or Be Dead and Run To The Hills - the galloping triplet feel is a bugger to get right - easy to do sloppily, but getting it tight took some work. I can run the triplet gallop all day long on a held note, but when it starts shifting about in the gallop feel it requires some real effort to keep it even. However, some of his left-hand stuff is just as tricky - I've moved on to Phantom of the Opera, and good grief am I having to work hard! I love this guy's lines, very busy and exciting, so much fun to play. Any Maiden fans on BC able to share some tips for playing in the style of Steve Harris?
A friend of mine has got that galloping style off to a tee...i'm sure he uses a 3 finger style to achieve it...good luck
19. Thanks guyz appreciate your feedback hopefully i will get the grasp of things cheers Bob
20. Hi Folks Contemplating venturing into the world of reading Would i be right in asking if I was looking at a piece of music that was in a certain Key Signature that the piece would use notes of the said Key? For instance if the Key was say E major that most of the notes within the E major scale would be used i know there may be a possibility that there might be some chromatic runs or passing notes ect. I can't read music so was just wondering if the Key Signature determines the majority of the notes. Does my question make sense as i find it difficult to word what i'm asking cheers Bob
21. Lol....there is one tutor i know of but he's unavailable....dunno about the film though
