  1. Yup, definitely budding and not blooming! PM'd mate
  2. BUMP! What a steal! Someone please buy this - it's driving me crazy!!
  3. AAAAGH! Love the Chrome hardware. Man, if only this was 32"! Have a bump mate
  4. PM'd!
  5. Any idea on scale length?
  6. No worries! I have 2 of the Urge MK1s, a standard and "real" one - both 32" necks and can confirm they really are cracking basses. Definitely in league with the 32" Kubicki Ex-Factor (which I also have 2 of!). For future, I reckon £265 is a bit too low mate, see how much it's worth to you after you've played around with it - mine is priceless! Happy strumming pal
  7. This guy is class! Had the Verbzilla delivered with impossible speed......on a very rare train set.......from Scotland to Exeter......driven by a team of trained shrews. Constant email contact too.
  8. I was there Sunday night......good grief what a show! Clarke's instrumental piece was absolutely spell binding! Anyone else there on Sunday was also treated to an incredible rendition of Amazing Grace on the Harmonica. Best bit: Wooten crept in and sat in a vacant seat by the aisle during Chick Corea's set, one song later a woman walked in and quite rudely stepped over Wooten to get to the next seat which was hers, sat down and....... promptly fell asleep.....for the ENTIRE 2nd set! Haha, unreal! There is ignorance, and there is ignorance but THAT I stuggle to understand. Sleeping whilst sitting next to THE MAN to watch THE GUYS play a blinding set at a great venue. Maybe she was just overcome by the excitement. Crazy!
  9. Love it! Cheers pal
  10. Cheers for the responses y'all. Will keep an eye out for the Verbzilla. Anyone have a view on the Dynaverb?
  11. Agreed mate. It's purely for self-indulgent bedroom noodling. No euphasim implied.
  12. Cheers lads, To be honest, I'm not really up on my reverb knowledge, so I guess I'm looking for something quite flexible, that can go to tasteful and discreet to absolutely drowning in the stuff. Budget is very much an issue, but if there is a general consensus naming one particular pedal above all others then I will rid myself of other material goods and save accordingly. I'll take a look at the verbzilla. Ta y'all
  13. Wotchya all, I am in the market for a decent reverb pedal. I'm not looking for a multi effects box, just a 1 funtion pedal - preferably small and 9V. Conditions: 1. Price will presumably be an issue, however if there is a Holy Grail reverb out there (pardon the EHX pun) then I will save up. 2. It's for use with a regular bass and a piccolo bass, active and passive (will that make a difference?) Thoughts, comments and experiences welcomed - I'm a complete nooooobie when it comes to reverb! Cheers y'all B
  14. Thats an interesting shout! Cheers mate FYI - i asked this Q at Mansons guitar shop in Exeter and I was told they will make them up for me. So if anyone is interested ask for Ralph
  15. Hi All, Anyone know if flatwound piccolo strings exist?! I'm dabbling with the idea of putting piccolo strings on my fretless. I would be looking to use flatwound piccolo strings purely to prevent any damage to the neck. Would damage be likely using roundwound piccolo strings? If not, can anybody recommend a set? I hear good things about D'Addario and GHS. Any thoughts would be appreciated! Oh, also, where can I find a set in the UK? I can't find any on stringbusters.com Cheers y'all
  16. PM coming your way............now!!
  17. Who likes to rock the party?!
  18. To be honest, I have certainly played shorter 32" scales, if that makes sense! In fact, the reason I'm considering selling it is because the neck is just a bit to big for me, feels more like a 34" which I'm not really a fan of. I play other 32" necks and they certainly feel much smaller in my hands. Plenty of bottom end going on mate, I really like the versatile preamp, plus the multiple options on the pups really give it some beef. I have used it for all types of music, and it sounded "real", the preamp options don't make it sound gimmicky if you know what I mean. It's actually hanging in a shop in Twickenham at the moment if anybody fancies an inspection Plenty of bottom end from the Eric the wonderdog too.
  19. As ridiculous as ever Bob, he's more of a draft excluder than a dog! But damn I love those ginger eyebrows...
  20. Had a few PMs, so just to confirm, this is the MK1 medium scale version - NOT the 34" necked version that Stu Hamm currently plays. I've played both and I certainly prefer the 32". Seems more playable to me, but then I'm only small!
  21. Hmmm..... I'm having a lot of problems with my LEFT shoulder, which is twisted forwards and inwards. I'm a right handed player, so this seems to go against what people have mentioned so far. I do, however, have a wasted LEFT deltoid (due to a sublocated collar bone) and a series of numb spots around my upper left arm/shoulder and neck (ARABASSIST do you have these too?). Also, I seem to be suffering quite badly (i.e. daily) from a sore/cramped left forearm/wrist. I am a physiologist, what I think the title calls for is a physiotherapist. However, as I understand it, everything (eventually) attaches to the spine, so I would recommend a consultation with a chiropractor for any niggles which refuse to go away. I recently chatted with Stu Hamm about such problems and he recommended the same. Unfortunately, there is usually so many things wrong with everybody, so a consultation might be quite a depressing experience (I for one was called Quosimodo and told that my neck was twisted, because my shoulder was twisted, because my spine was bent, because my hips were twisted, because I walk strangely - and changing all these things seems like an impossible task!!) From what I have heard, a series of warm up exercises AND COOL DOWN exercises for you're shoulders ALEXCLABER would go along way I'm sure proper hand positioning/technique and strap lengths also apply. Anyone have a stretching routine which they have found to have helped?
  22. Thinking of selling this again. Any interest?
  23. I am by no means any good, but I found playing along to Aeroplane by RHCPs helped me out. Probably because its simple (?!) octave patterns and a damn fine tune that was fun to keep on playing!
