1. These things are great! I love mine, sounds great. And this price is an absolute steal! Have a bump mate!
2. Top man!! If any of those 57 basses are put up for sale (heaven forbid) consider them bumped! I'll have a crack sometime this week Cheers again!
3. Hi all, Need to re-string my kubicki x-factor for the first time after some extensive studio work. Just eye-ing up the unique bridge and was wondering if anybody out there has some tips for stringing up this particular bass? Any experience with string types also welcomed! Ta B
4. Hey mate, looks like an ace piece of kit. Any ideas on a price? Scrap that! We're all editing at the same time!
5. Cracking bass sir! Gets the slapping thumbs up! I own a white one of these, and I would just like to add that whilst these basses go from an ideal slap/tap setup/sound, they also have the most beautiful warm end to them when you need it. A truly versatile, quality instrument. I would love to buy this and take the frets out, a la Stu Hamm on his "Outbound" record and have it along side my white one. Best of luck with the sale, can't recommend these enough B
6. I have tiny hobbit hands! And I play a Mexican Fender Urge I MIM. The scale is 32" but most importantly it has a such a slim neck that I get my whole hand round it with ease, so much so that I'm quite happy fretting the E string with the thumb of my left hand. Plus, this thing weighs absolutely nothing, yet has a really good wide-ranging sound. Its so easy to play, I must be cheating! One was on ebay last week, went for under £250 I think. Can't recommend them enough. Alternatively, I'd always like a Fender Mustang. Best of luck mate Forgot to mention, the Urge also has the benefit of looking like a proper fender bass, and has the full 24 frets despite such a scale length of 32"
7. Thanks mate, thats been really helpfull. The Chunk Systems Octavius Squeezer looks like the badger's nadgers on their website. I'll def give that some thought. The guitarist in the band is currently using a freq-box, so I'll run my bass through that later this week. Lemme know how the pulsesynth works out for ya, money is no object is I can get that monosynth sound going on! Cheers again B
8. Howdy all, I'm looking for something close to the following phat synth bass sound out of a single/series of pedals (i.e. not rack): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bqxnm6t3QMw The appropriate pedals I currently have are the Akai Deep Impact, Woolly Mammoth and EBS Multicomp. Am I on the right lines here? Any ideas? Definitely up for buying any gear that would help me get closer to this bass sound, so open to all suggestions! Anyone out there reckon they've got this sound down? Gotta love that track/band! Cheers everyone B
9. Love that sterling, and that rig! I especially enjoy the unique LED on the warwick......on the 6th fret too!
10. Hail to the King baby!! Simply stunning. Damn the slings and arrows of outrageous financial misfortune at present! Do you have a personal favourite?
11. Hi mate, my Urge II doesn't buzz/hum, but the Precison pup doesn't work. Consequently I haven't played it in a while (too skint/busy to have a look whats wrong with it). Any luck so far? I'm sure Ive read something about this online, I'll try and find it 2moz. Any luck when switching the 5 way selector around? I also have a kubicki exfactor, and a modded mex Urge I. Cracking basses! Never realised I was such a Stu Hamm fan until I wrote that sentence, I seem to have his entire back catalogue building up here!! Would love to grab a piccolo and fretless kubicki as heard on the Outbound record! Ayway, I ramble on. Good Luck!
12. BUMP! Somebody snatch this up - I can't stand having this itch that I just can't scratch!! Top bass, top guy
13. yeah yeah, i know!! Just looking for an inspiring slap groove to learn from and thought this was ace and worth sharing. Regardless of it being played on keys, its still providing the bass line and shouldn't be disregarded just because its played on another instrument. The song has that Louis Johnson feel I reckon, and it's definitely something to try. And with my bedroom walls as my witness I'm guna try and get some parts of this track down!! After all, this is the section for "those who want to push the boundaries a bit". Anybody given it a go?
14. Yeah for sure!! But there's something special going on under those keys and afterwards, and if not there could be!! I'm sure the whole song could be adapted and done (by better bassists than me). Would be an absolute belter to do live, just wondered if anybody'd had a go? Cracking groove throughout, spesh the middle 8 - its ace to play to in my room (badly!), what a groove!
15. Hi all, was listening to MJ's bad album the other day and was stopped dead by the chorus on the appropriately titled Speed Demon! What a masterpiece- I can't believe I never spotted this til now! Was just wondering if anyone here knows whose majestic thumb is on this record? Sounds like Louis Johnson to me.... Any one had any experience covering this stunner?! Have a gander: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOWkBI8a23A
16. BUMP for a top guy and a top deal! Damn my finances!

18. Consequently a 32" bass feels more like 34".... +1 on that. Although I'm guna be awkward and suggest it feels somewhere in between. Doesn't quite feel like a 32" like my Stu Hamm Urge I does. I'm a happy owner of one of the first Fender Custom Shop models (WITH Phil Kubicki's 6-way preamp). Slap tone to die for and it was fantastic in the studio. Top bass. Not looking forward to changing the strings anytime soon though.
19. Oooooh! Please put some new pics man!!
20. That's the lad! I just wikipedia'd him, and there's a lovely little plug for our band on there! Praises for whoever wrote it!
21. Marvin Gaye - Got to give it up (part one) Just heard this on the radio and no matter how often I hear it, it just always leaves me going.............................yeah! Also, Jackson 5 - I Want You Back is always a classic, has some great outro frills (I can hear it in my flat mate's room, and it makes me wana funk like no-one is watching). Best stop now really
22. Ta guys! btw Dood, I curl up to my EBS MultiComp every night. The only way that pedal could be better would be: 1. If it came with a wal mark 2 or SC's alembic attached. 2. If it came with KT Tunstall attached. Top stuff, keep up the good work guys! 'Preciate it Bert
