1. I'm the BC'er who bought this from Flat Eric! Bizarre - I literally have it on my lap whilst typing, and that Ebay auction is nothing to do with me. I love it still (I have two!)
2. ON HOLD ***PRICE DROP - £800 plus P&P*** Hi all, I have decided to sell my much-loved Birdsong Cortobass. The only reason for selling it is because it has been superseded by my Alembic and Mrs. RaNoFuNkY is not impressed with my bass "clutter" (sigh). Some details for you: Walnut body with ebony stringer Maple neck with rosewood fretboard Ebony nut, control plate and truss rod cover Lace pickups Gold hardware Gold hipshot bridge and tuning machines 31" scale / 24 frets Approx 1.5" neck width at nut, 1 and 7/8" at 12th fret These are pretty rare over here. The 31" is a dream to play, and the neck has more of a Precision feel than Jazz, which fits very comfortably. The bass is nicely put together and handbuilt from what seems to be a very professional outfit based in Texas; it is certainly not a toy/gimmick. I believe that Birdsong now have the rights to manufacture the S.D. Curlee? The 6-way Varitone selector ensures a wide range of tonal possibilities. Please follow this link for a very thorough review and to hear the many different sounds available: http://theellingswor...lard/cortobass/ I have briefly thrown together a youtube demo: I can include a soft case. You're most welcome to pop in and try it out should you be in the Exeter area.
3. Have you thought about the Mission Engineering Expressionator here? I'm thinking about using my VP Jr as a master expression pedal and select between 1, 2 or 3 pedals using the expressionator
4. Looks amazing. Any chance you could measure the width at the nut, 12th and 24th fret? Also, what's the string spacing? Thanks
5. Wow! Can you provide an details about the scale length, nut width and string spacing? Thanks and good luck!
6. Andy made my patch leads up to custom size, within 1 day, and then posted them. HERO!
7. I'm looking to arpeggiate single notes, and I'm currently leaning towards the Earthquaker as it seems fairly simple (I believe it can do polyphonic too). I would quite like to be able to play the arpeggiating synth part of Daft Punk's Contact (see 1:28 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRcHTdWY5lU), although the problem is that you cannot tap tempo (which will make this hard live), or chose to alternate between major and minor runs for the different major/minor chords. This second problem I find the most limiting. Any suggestions?
8. Is that top section fixed to the rest of the board pal?
9. Ooooh! Any reviews thus far?
10. Ah. Good shout - thanks. Well, it will primarily be used alongside the Iron Ether Xerograph Deluxe, but I may branch out and use it elsewhere too.
11. Thanks for this guys. The Boss pedal can be used as a volume pedal AND separate expression pedal output? That seems worthwhile as I've been toying with putting a volume pedal at the end of my signal to control disparities in the output levels of different effect patches when quickly switching sounds on the fly (we are doing a hip hop medley akin to Justin Timberlake's "history of rap")
12. Hi all, I'm looking into buying an expression pedal to control some of my effects, and I wondered if there is a common consensus on the available models? In the past, I've felt that quite a few expression pedals were flimsy and plastic. I'm looking for a more robust pedal, that gives me some resistance rather than requires impeccable "good toes - naughty toes" ballet action. Also, it will give me the confidence that it is well built. I'm looking at hooking the expression pedal up to an Expressionator too, so just the 1 expression pedal is needed I think. Any comments/reviews would be welcome. Ta

14. BUMP for a quality bass Let's get this sold before I put up my bone marrow as collateral
15. Bought my Wonderlove off Ivan. It arrived so fast I could be forgiven in thinking he drove it over himself
