Help help. I've just bought a Vintera II Precision. It's lovely. The stock strings (I assume Fender - roundwound) were fine, all played nicely with great intonation. I've taken those off and replaced with La Bella low tension flats (100-42). Everything sounds great, but the G string (and only the G string) was hugely sharp at the 12th fret. No problem, I started to adjust the saddle. But, to get this thing to intonate at the 12th fret, I had to move the saddle back (i.e. away from the neck) by a crazy amount. More than I have ever seen, and it looked crazy compared to the other 3 saddles. Anyway, no problem (I thought), this was now intonated perfectly at the 12th fret and open string. However, frets 7-9 were hugely sharp. So, now the string is in tune, then becomes increasingly sharp until the 9th fret, then flattens back to pitch by the time I hit fret 12. Strange. So, I put the original Fender(?) roundwound G string back on, and adjusted the saddle back to where it was, and it's perfect. No issue at all. Now I have taken that original string off, replaced with the La Bella G string but kept the saddle where it works for the Fender string (thinking that I had done some wierd restringing job). But, I am back to where I started. It's in tune when played open, then massively sharp at the 12th fret. I adjust the saddle to achieve pitch both open and at fret 12, but again it's hugely sharp 7-9th frets. Like, unusably sharp. The string is correctly seated in the nut and saddle, and appropriately wound. I have tried raising the action a little, then re-pitching. The neck looks fine (obviously, the bass behaves with the roundwound string). So, I am at a loss. I don't quite understand the physics of this. The string gauges are perhaps a little out, but likely only 0.42 (La Bella) vs about 0.45. Regardless of the physics - can anyone help me find a solution. I've got a recording session on Monday(!). Is this just a dud string perhaps? Thanks!

Calling all graphite neck enthusiasts!
RaNoFuNkY replied to Kiwi's topic in Graphite neck - ordering
I would be VERY keen on one for a pre-EB so I can finally own a "cutlass". I have played a few from Status (Jazz, Musicman, Musicman with narrow nut). The latter is my favourite, although this is obviously personal preference. I also fine the modulus flea bass neck to be nice. Any interest in a short scale stingray neck? I would be hugely interested in that. Well done man, this looks great -

I am looking to shift some gear. This thread is for synth pedals. I will happily consider offers on multiple pedals from other threads I've listed here. Korg G5. Really cool unit, especially for the vocal sounds which I haven't managed to get close to using anything else. Think "Sexy Boy" by Air - £130 Octavius Squeezer. My favourite filter of all time. Analogue unit with digital functionality. These things are great and getting harder to come by - £250 Panda Audio Future Impact with small housing case. I might be able to spare a USB midi lead too. I've updated the firmware, but this is not the latest hardware version - £180 Copilot Cubic with box. This is for massive octave down square wave sojourns. You don't see many around - £100 Subdecay Noisebox with box. I do love the guys at Subdecay, they make some crazy stuff. This can get very gated. Example video here - £90 Line 6 FM4 with box. I love the slow sub sweeps you can get with this thing - but it does loads. Can save presets. Please note, one of the batteries which was in the unit exploded - so there's gunk in the battery compartment, and I wouldn't want to run this off batteries again. However, I have the power supply, and this all works perfectly. A lower price to reflect this: £100.

I'm looking to shift some gear. This thread is for "gain" pedals. I will happily consider offers/deals for the addition of anything else I am selling on another thread. Darkglass Duality with box (heavily gigged, so not the cleanest looking - but perfect working order) - £125 Darkglass Vintage Microtubes with box. Original version - £125 Earthquaker Devices Data Corruptor with box - A phase-locked loop (PLL) design, but has HUGE chewy synth value with it's suboscillators. I think of this far more as a monophonic synth. I love this thing. Video here - £150 TC Electronic Dark Matter with box - Distortion pedal which works well with bass - I used it in a blended signal (via a KMA Tyler signal splitter). £35

Hi All, Shifting some gear. This thread is for some "Modulation" pedals. I will happily consider any deal with a pedal from another thread I've listed. Sovtek (Russian tall font)/Ehx Small Stone Phaser with wooden box - £220 Chase Bliss Warped Vinyl with wooden box - £200 Empress Phaser with box (hands down the best I've used, and it's very versatile) £220. Empress Midi box (for midi control of the phaser) can be added for £250 total, or on it's own for £40. Cooper Fx Moment Machine with box (happy if this doesn't sell, it's awesome and hard to find in the UK) - £280 Bananana effects Tararira v1 - clock controlled arpeggiator pedal! With box. Video here - £120 DLS Rotosim - great "ramp up/down" stereo Leslie pedal with box - £110 Strymon El-Cap V2 with box - £200 Zvex Instant LoFi Junky with box (not the looper version, this is an instant "lofi" effect, with a great compressor too) - £120 DOD Vibrothang. I love this, and used it for creating movement. It's sort of a vibrato, but different and difficult to describe. Video here - £70 Mooer trelicopter with box. Really serviceable tremolo - £35. Avalanche run not for sale! Happy to consider offers, but not really looking for any trades.

I am moving on some gear. This thread is for some octave pedals. Happy to consider offers if you're interested in other things I am listing for sale. COG Effects T16 with original box. Much loved analogue beast, in a tiny package - £125. SOLD Pearl OC-07 My favourite of the bunch actually. Old and battered, and I used it exclusively for about 12 years. Comes with original box. Please note that the casing around the battery component has cracked, so that is held together with a bit of tape. However, the unit is completely functional and plenty robust still. I really love this thing and will be sad to see it go. Tricky to find, so I've priced this as £130. SOLD EHX Micro POG with box. Pretty much standard issue. I used this when splitting my signal a la Royal Blood. £110. Now £90 BOSS OC-2 *modified*. This has "the square wave mod", which I know very little about. I bought this off Basschat about a decade ago, and can't find much information about it. Basically, it combines OC-2 with an internal fuzz circuit which offers synthy, chewy goodness. £50. SOLD.

Hi All, I am moving on some gear. This thread is for some compressor pedals. Prices include UK postage + packaging. Cali76 Compact Bass - the older version. It's brilliant. £180 ono, has original box. Walrus Audio Deep Six - with box. £90 ono. TC Electronic Hypergravity - will supply a generic box. £60. I used the Vintage mode, but it has the Toneprint function enabled: https://www.tcelectronic.com/product.html?modelCode=0709-AHH
