1.
Genuine SDs. The neck is a little thinner than a P bass at the nut. I love mine to bits, and I'm very tempted to add this one to the fold. I'm off to do some sums.
Be as creative as you need with your accounting ;-)
 2.
PM'd, against my better judgement. In a good way though.
:-)
 3.
Aye Lad, will do. I was gonna come watch the game tomorrow but i'm taking the bass i recently bought for £400 back to the shop for a set up. They set it up but i'm not happy with it an i need it ready before i go on a short UK tour in April.
Bobbins mate! Hope they sort it for ya!!
 4.
Serious bass for this dosh, well worth a punt.
Thanks dude, it's a beaut!
 5.
PM'd
Replied
 6.
Andy, I'm having trouble seeing the pics. Is this the silvery/grey coloured one? Suddenly wishing I had 400 quid!!
The link doesn't work on mobile sorry guys! Yep it's the silvery grey one
 7.
Arrrrrggghhhh! I have family in Sheffield too, i go over all the time to watch The Blades. proper wounded!
Lemme know when you're next over here and we can try to arrange for you to meet it if you like?
 8.
I can't believe it. I would have snapped this had it been on a month ago. I just spent £400 on a bass and am now skint. Gutted.
That's severely bad timing on my part matey, sorry about that! ...for mobile users...I'm in Sheffield
 9. [s]Kind of a feeler in that I love this bass and it plays really really nicely, I'd just kinda like it to be a slightly shorter scale so it's easier to switch between this and my ACG...that's the only reason for sale! Spec: Macassar ebony fingerboard, AAA flame maple top, Honduras mahogany/wenge neck and body, MM pickup Passive Vol/Tone 35" scale Sound: Perfect fretless! excellent 'mwah' and superbly punchy mids, this is a brilliant bass, the low b is top notch and the high c is very pleasingly matched volume wise to the rest, very sweet indeed! Feel: It's so light you almost forget you're wearing it! I'll weigh it tonight to find out but I've never held so light a bass!! Pics: Teeny issue: There's a slight manufacturing issue with the fret markers on the fingerboard above the octave where Jon ever so slightly cut the slots too long for the inlays, he was very apologetic about it and you can in no way feel them when playing, or in fact even see them unless it's pointed out to you! That's why it's so cheap!! There are no other issues with this bass, it's in precisely the same condition as when it left Jon's garage/workshop! I will be ordering another Letts to replace this and it will have virtually the same spec (apart from the scale length) £400 collected It will have a decent gig-bag when it leaves me.[/s]
 10. Ah, thanks guys!
 11.
The power conditioner won't do a lot except tell you what the voltage is or more likely what it isn't. If you have to use a generator, the best bet is is to make sure that your equipment is the only thing running off of it even then it may not give enough power.

If it is a generator, it's a voltage regulator or inverter you'll need, not a power conditioner. A good generator will utilise an AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator).
So, what you're saying is....there's nothing we can do about the quality or consistency of the power if it's a genny and it's best to take some solid state amp rather than something valvey?
 12. I know there're quite a few Sheffield folks on here...no-one got any info?
 13. Glad to hear your gear hunt is nearing a conclusion matey! Pics?
 14. How would you describe it's sound? I'm looking for a 2x12 but don't want one that's scooped sounding, I'm looking for 'deep and crisp and even' as the song goes...
 15.
Some spray-booth action at the end of the week! Final laquer now applied, woo hoo! Hardware next week, and then its collection time for RK! And from the back! Its getting sooooo close now. thank you please RK
S T U N N I N G !!!!!
 16. Mods can lock and unlock threads I believe so if the sale falls through a quick pm should sort out the unlocking
 17.
Would it be worth a sticky or two, with a link to the donate/sub page? You don't see the link/button on a 'phone or tablet device that uses the mobile layout. Unless I've simply missed something obvious...
You can't see the shop either in 'mobile mode'... I wonder if these links work in mobile-land: http://basschat.co.uk/cp/9-support-basschat/ http://basschat.co.uk/cp/2-shop/
 18.
I saw a video of you absolutely blazing on that thing mate, amazing Eude
Youtube? link please...always nice to see Alan's creations getting a work out!
 19.
Ped I just paid my £20 by going to the 'support basschat' tab and doing it via paypal. I did the 'unlimited threads for a year'. I thought the donation field was a bit confusing? Is this for donations in addition to the £20? [EDIT - i see this is explained in the intro, i didn't read it properly] ALso, and this is the main thing - I was signed in, but I don't think there is any link between my paypal and my basschat account - eg. my email i use is different, my name is different, and i wasn't asked to enter my basschat username when making the donation. So... how will you (the websiite) know that I've paid? Ted
I too have done the 'subscribe' thing so I'm all good for a year, in your paypal receipt it should say 'user xxxx' which I guess is your unique identifier to the poota system rather than your username (which is more helpful to people)
 20. I think it's a clean slate going forward subscription wise... seems fair enough
 21. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvW6ZeSygvM&feature=youtube_gdata_player Who can we see in the queue directly behind the youth receiving signatures...!?
 22. here's a link to WOT's thread: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/200338-mesa-walkabout-l550-sold-pending/page__fromsearch__1
 23. as per the title really...are there any jam nights going on in Sheffield that other BCers are going to, I need to get out of the house a bit more and it'd be good to sharpen up my ears again... (the more local to Ecclesall / Greystones the better too)
 24. So, I've got a wedding evening do gig this July and it's in a marquee, I've played in marquees before but always with the BBC outdoor rig so power has been sorted for me...this time however it's a bit more hotch potch... I'm presuming there'll be a generator involved so does that mean I'll need a power conditioner to smooth out / clean up the power so it won't hurt my amp / my mates guitar amp? If so, what kind of thing would I need? I've heard of Furman who seem to be 'the one'...but which one? ...and... Does anyone in Sheffield have one I could borrow in July please? Ta BC
