1. ...oo! http://www.wedgees.com/
2. What are these Wedgees that sound so useful and would solve my 'glasses sliding down my nose' hassles?
3. I have no problem whatsoever with the new classifieds or with the mods, I paid my money and I advertise when I want to sell stuff. I too have noticed a vocally disgruntled minority giving the place a dubious vibe of late. Far too much politics and not enough 'shits n giggles'!
4.
Hello, I am the aforementioned Mr. Johnson. I don't know if anybody is following this thread but I'll straighten out a couple of things. I run a workwear shop in Seaforth, not a garage in Waterloo. Gary Daly played the bass on the original recording of African & White. The fretless playing on Christian is by Andy Pask, of 'Landscape' (Einstein A Go-Go, also the co-writer of the theme from 'The Bill'). Although I played it for so long I feel like like it's mine, it still makes me feel very emotional as it brings back some very sad memories. I joined after the release of Difficult Shapes and the first thing I recorded with the band was Tragedy & Mystery. And it's a Warwick Thumb 5-string, my hands are too small for a 6-string, and I still use it to this day in a pub band at the weekends. The drummer calls it The Throb. Thanks for listening. GAZZA.
Thanks for sharing that matey, am sorry there's sadness back there for you, hope you're enjoying playing still!
5. I just bought Marco's vintage fretless blazer, excellent description, well packaged, speedy shipping, great comms, top chap! Thanks matey
6. Just arrived and gently unwrapped! 20130419_131323 by andydye, on Flickr Factory fretless, December 1981 Ibanez Blazer, some very tasteful mojo, nothing serious, simply gorgeous! Thanks to Marco (Ghost_Bass) for parting with it for me and so carefully parcelling it up for it's journey from Portugal to me
7. Hurray! Glad it worked out alright for you!! I love my S12T
8. John bought my Fishman preamp, yet another stress free transaction from BC! Exactly as it should be, top chap!!
9. This is a lovely looking bass matey! Just needs a black/tort plate and chrome knobs to finish it off
10.
'Tis indeed. The Westone IA was my first proper bass when I was 16, and now at 46 I bought one recently off the forum for nostalgias sake. Mind you, when I was a sprog I may as well have had a Wes I cos I never put a battery in for the active!
Haha! A 1a was the first bass I gigged at my first ever gig! t'was a mates as I had no bass at the time, I really liked it, if one comes up on here I'll be v tempted! Another mate has had a 1 for years and still uas it in it's case despite a few years of not playing...I asked if he'd part with it and he politely refused! A superb p type copy for v little cash!!
11.
Erm, this is not a Thunder IA. It's a Thunder I, no active see
Spot on spotting there billy, still a cracker though innit!
12. Rockin bass bud! Got any sound samples?
13.
Andy mate If it's a bass you really want then I'll step aside. I'm trying to get a roadster identical to the one I had back in the day. This one is close but 'no cigar' - mine was passive, just volume and tone and I think a slightly lighter wood finish. I would have made one bid of £155.02 at the last minute to beat off any non-BC ers making a cheeky bid. More than happy for you to bid instead of me. PM me and let me know what you want to do. And Rich, if you' ve time to kill when you're up north, feel free to say hello anyway
Mike matey, Am happy for you to punt on it as I'd not spotted it was active from the super dark photo showing the controls, if I can find a passive one I'll be sorely tempted. All yours good sir!
14. I'll wait to see if mike says he's going for it, I'll leave it if I don't hear from him just incase he doesn't check back here before it ends
15.
The collection only is a bit of a pisser :-( Would any kind local BCer volunteer to facilitate postage ?
So...the only remaining question is whether mike will be going for it or not...if he doesn't I'm tempted if the collection assistance offer still stands...
16. I know they don't suit me but I can't help loving the classic ray4!
17.
Sorreee. Altered. Thanks.
No prob bud, were I closer I'd be well tempted!
