  2. Hi all,

My name is Bill and I am a free style bassist who started back in the early 60’s and then became a DJ in 1972 up until 2000. I then went back to playing bass for some friends and also joined a local church where I played in some of the worship bands for several years. I now play as and when friends ask me to step in if they need a bassist as I live in Worcester and it is not too far to travel around the area.

  3. NCD! barefaced Six10 just delivered, pics to follow when I get chance to unbox (otherwise it clearly didn't happen)

Really need my orange cabs to sell now :)

my thoughts exactly, I'll give one a good go but would be utilising the free returns offer if necessary...

might mean I have to get one BEFORE my Orange cabs go, just in case...?

totally, that's kinda how music works though isn't it, one thing leads you to another and then you're off into the unknown

love Ian Allilson too, he's great to listen to

exciting times all round, @Doodand @eudeI'd love to see these take shape too! In fact, is there a 'all your basses in one pic' thread somewhere with your current stable on display?

I know what you mean Dood about the J thing, I am determined to spend enough time with one that I can find its sonic niche, my p basses are effortless in that regard

oo what you wantin next dood?

I'm correcting a glaring omission in my stable of mostly p basses, I met the most beautiful '62 J at a show recently and so, rather than pay £12k or whatever for an old one I can pay way less and have Jon make me an alder body J with '62 dimensions and a couple of modern niceties :)

  14. Just completed an overseas sale. Lots of extra issues now post-brexit of course but what I wanted to mention was the inclusion of an Apple AirTag.

For £29 we were able to keep an eye on the progress of the bass as it left the Country, got held at customs (very helpful because the courrier tracking suggested it was being delivered at the time), and then tracking in the destination country all the way to it's new home.

Clearly a few quid extra cost but for a higher value transaction a lot of added piece of mind!!!

  15. Im in tone heaven. Ampeg valve amp, Pbass and flatwounds. Who would of thought they went well together. I'm pretty sure I'm the first to discover this combination 😉 haha.
