1. Glad to hear your gear hunt is nearing a conclusion matey! Pics?
2. How would you describe it's sound? I'm looking for a 2x12 but don't want one that's scooped sounding, I'm looking for 'deep and crisp and even' as the song goes...
3.
Some spray-booth action at the end of the week! Final laquer now applied, woo hoo! Hardware next week, and then its collection time for RK! And from the back! Its getting sooooo close now. thank you please RK
S T U N N I N G !!!!!
4. Mods can lock and unlock threads I believe so if the sale falls through a quick pm should sort out the unlocking
5.
Would it be worth a sticky or two, with a link to the donate/sub page? You don't see the link/button on a 'phone or tablet device that uses the mobile layout. Unless I've simply missed something obvious...
You can't see the shop either in 'mobile mode'... I wonder if these links work in mobile-land: http://basschat.co.uk/cp/9-support-basschat/ http://basschat.co.uk/cp/2-shop/
6.
I saw a video of you absolutely blazing on that thing mate, amazing Eude
Youtube? link please...always nice to see Alan's creations getting a work out!
7.
Ped I just paid my £20 by going to the 'support basschat' tab and doing it via paypal. I did the 'unlimited threads for a year'. I thought the donation field was a bit confusing? Is this for donations in addition to the £20? [EDIT - i see this is explained in the intro, i didn't read it properly] ALso, and this is the main thing - I was signed in, but I don't think there is any link between my paypal and my basschat account - eg. my email i use is different, my name is different, and i wasn't asked to enter my basschat username when making the donation. So... how will you (the websiite) know that I've paid? Ted
I too have done the 'subscribe' thing so I'm all good for a year, in your paypal receipt it should say 'user xxxx' which I guess is your unique identifier to the poota system rather than your username (which is more helpful to people)
8. I think it's a clean slate going forward subscription wise... seems fair enough
9. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvW6ZeSygvM&feature=youtube_gdata_player Who can we see in the queue directly behind the youth receiving signatures...!?
10. here's a link to WOT's thread: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/200338-mesa-walkabout-l550-sold-pending/page__fromsearch__1
11. as per the title really...are there any jam nights going on in Sheffield that other BCers are going to, I need to get out of the house a bit more and it'd be good to sharpen up my ears again... (the more local to Ecclesall / Greystones the better too)
12. So, I've got a wedding evening do gig this July and it's in a marquee, I've played in marquees before but always with the BBC outdoor rig so power has been sorted for me...this time however it's a bit more hotch potch... I'm presuming there'll be a generator involved so does that mean I'll need a power conditioner to smooth out / clean up the power so it won't hurt my amp / my mates guitar amp? If so, what kind of thing would I need? I've heard of Furman who seem to be 'the one'...but which one? ...and... Does anyone in Sheffield have one I could borrow in July please? Ta BC
13. I'm going to have to try and get down for next year's do, those pics and the general feedback make we wanna come and see!
14. Drop him a pm mate, he's very helpful and amenable
15. You could draw a picture of the neck and annotate it with the notes in your wierd tuning, that'll help you see how it all fits together if you can't visualise it and then you can colour in a major scale pattern which is then easy to mod with all the wacky bits for other chords... ...and use your ears absolutely!
16.
Found out again.
:-D She wouldn't regret it though, you make superb basses matey!
17. The theory doesn't change with different tunings but the note locations will...I'd suggest learning where the notes are in the tuning you use most (and standard tuning too) and then you'll know where your root should be... presumably your downtuning but still keeping the 4ths interval in between the strings so the shapes will be the same?
18. Lots of basses I've had have been a limiting factor in either sound or neck dimensions and while I could sound 'good' on them I couldn't sound my best on them...the lakland 55-02 I recently had and now the acg I've got are both seriously good basses and the acg is way better than I am so I don't expect to run out of room on it any time soon!
19. The sfx m:d2 is hugely impressive and is remarkably similar in sound to the avalon u5 but is way way cheaper at £160 ish!
20.
No longer available - trade agreed
Congrats mate!
21. Scott bought my fischer heaphone amp a while back, painless deal, nice and quick, thanks matey!
22. 5 is more versatile while maintaining a reasonable neck width, with a low b you've got all the notes you need.
23.
bump for a great guy to deal with. if the new fretless neck is as good as the fretted one andy sold to me, then this bass is a killer.
Thanks matey, it plays and sounds brilliantly!
24.
Would you not be willing to split?
Hi matey, I might split, I was looking to move the pair really but if you're interested drop me a pm and we can work details out?
