pic at last here is the the squier, which for me personally as a gigging bass, has outshone the US deluxe J i bought earlier in the year new gotoh 201 bridge, wizard thumper , new cts pots and an orange drop , last little remaining job to be done is a trip to the local luthier https://www.81guitarworks.co.uk (thoroughly recommend for anybody in the maidstone area) to get the nut slots sorted out which are a bit high - looks great for gigs too as our guitarist has a late 70s strat in same colour config (except rosewood board) so they make a good pair

Earlier this year an immaculate sandberg TM4 in blueburst which i unfortunately was forced to sell - i later got a US deluxe J which i have gigged once and has stayed in its case for the last six months apart from gojng to a local luthier to have a few issues fixed which it should never have left the factory with - was so peed off with it i got a nice vmP from davesprocketflup on here and its bloody marvellous and is now my main gig bass

just had a quick search on here and there are a couple of threads regarding pitch 2 midi and analog synth pedals but the topics are 4 years plus old as the technology has moved on has anybody managed to successfully gig a pitch to midi converter to drive bass synth? i recently bought a sonuus g2m and tried it with my irig pro. it works but the latency and tracking is appalling and certainly not giggable our keys player has a kronos so we are going to give the sonuus g2m a run through the kronos to see how it behaves - anybody tried this or similar with other brand pitch 2 midi converters? failing a workable solution i might have to learn a few songs on keys and just play them as synth bass lines 😆 ta muchly

yes was thinking of trying to find a clamp to put a par can on the PA stand - we have used led bars on the floor before which also has the added bonus of delineating the boundary between the band and the punters - agreed it def needs something higher up as side or down light to avoid the 'hammer house of horror' extreme uplighting effect not thinking of anything extreme frontlighting just options to soften out the whole effect and avoid the extreme backlit/uplit look

Tell me your band solutions for simple front lighting please! Trying to avoid the old conundrum of everything being back or side lit ta muchly 😁

weren't they rather good! in the past ive had a couple of J's both fretted and fretless with wizard hammers installed and impressed with both i just recently acquired me a nice squier P from the basschat forums and decided to search out a thumper (also found on basschat forum) hugely impressed with the thumper is the understatement of the decade - wizard thumper is definitely the gold medal winner for 'doing what it says on the tin' ps anybody out there had both wizards and hotrods would be interested to hear your thoughts on any comparison between them? 😁 thank you for listening
