  2. I've found Labella white nylons to have all the requirements you want..
  3. Pedulla Buzz. They sound awesome, but they look like a melting lollipop. The top horn shape actually makes me a bit angry...
  4. Sold a while ago, forgot to change the listing. Sorry...

  6. G&l Sb-2 Tribute. Jazz width neck, but deeper in depth. Pj, with phenomenal mfd pickups. Great value for money, sounds fantastic with flats
  7. Similar to Adamg67's post, 2 above,. Have you tried changing strings? Sounds stupid, but a different 'type' of string can make a big difference. White nylon LaBellas, for instance, can really change the tone/feel. Also, TI rounds are a bit of a revelation...

  9. I think I know this is a dumb question, but can you use any strings on an acoustic bass? Or do the pins at the bridge dictate 'special' strings?
  10. Temporary moment of mild madness - £550 delivered...
  11. Truss rod works fine. Turns readily both ways. Electrics work well. Just occasionally, the bridge pickup goes quiet when the neck pup gets turned down. Can't quite work out whether it's a loose wire... Very intermittent, though, and always functions properly with the neck pup...
  12. Bought from here not so long ago, but the bass this was subbing for appeared at a discount, so now back for sale again. It's a Columbus Jazz, a previous owner tried to remove the paint job, revealing an interesting construction: it's a front to back sandwich of two pieces of (I think) mahogany, with front and back veneers of - something else... Can't tell what. It has obviously been in this state for many years, cos it looks just like the cover of 'School's Out', lots of mojo. Ironically, for a budget bass, from only a short distance away, it looks like an expensive burled top, something exotic. It plays very well, I balanced the pickups, so now sounds even better. The pickups are quieter than the average, but sound great when turned up (as they should be). The bridge looks like an expensive after market jobbie, 3D adjustable. It's wearing heavy gauge Marusczcyk flats at the moment, and tuned down to BEAD. It sounds thunderous, and only slightly rattly with downtuning. Delivered in the UK inside its own hardcase for one hundred of your english pounds. Can't say fairer than that, guv....
  13. I had a C5, it was great. Preamp/pickups work really well together. Don't remember it being incredibly light, but it certainly wasn't heavy. I would recommend them...
  14. I second the above post. If its an Aerosilk piezo, you'll be laughing--they're excellent
