  1. Thanks. I couldn't find the download, didn't look hard enough, I guess. So it doesn't have a passive tone cut, just the ability to run passively...?
  2. Does the J Retro have a passive tone on it, or just the bypass switch?
  3. Michael Manring uses D'addario piccolo, and finds them very responsive to his wild and wacky tunings. I have a cut down set on an Ibanez Mikro ; the G string tuned down to F makes it nice and bendy without being floppy. (And that's the only way to get me and MM mentioned in the same post...)
  4. A set of D'addario piccolo strings tuned down to D work well as the top four strings, then the E and A of a similar D'addario 'normal' set complete the Sox. This has worked well for me in the past, and isn't too expensive...
  5. Sorry to slightly disagree with some of the above comments. L2000 strung with TI flats and played on the neck pickup is, I think, P bass heaven...

  7. A great pedal, versatile and very usable with a bass. I bought it because of the Z pedal, it turns left and right as well as up/down, and is multi-assignable (if that's even a word). Selling because the pedal has developed a kind of 'stutter'. It's used mostly for volume swells, and there is a hesitancy in it's travel. Not physically, I've tried using switch cleaner, which helped a bit, but it's annoying me. Everything else works great, it comes with it's original power supply and paper manual. You might know how to fix it, or not be bothered by it... £85 posted to anywhere in the UK. Cheers, Sean. The Tube switch is a really great feature, btw.
  8. I have the Ibanez Portamento and the fretted Aerium (505SRH), both strung with Labella white nylons. The piezo tone is unbelievably good- rich and warm. Can't recommend the combination highly enough...
  9. I've found cutting the hi mids at the amp really bring out the richness of the piezos. And Labella white nylons are perfect for this bass ( in my humble opinion)
  10. Bought Dan's Zoom B3. No fuss transaction, lightning fast postage, and all as described. Thanks Dan. Cheers, Sean
  11. Bought some bits off Russ. All very smooth and trouble free. Thanks, Russ
  12. Julian bought my Ibanez. Communications were excellent, payment instant, all went very well. Thanks, Julian.
  13. I second that emotion. My son was telling me about some of the online interaction around the games he plays, and I was happy to tell him about the courtesy shown on here...
  14. Just bought Alan's Dean B2. Communications were good, packaging was awesome, all went really well. Cheers, Alan
  15. Not had this very long at all, but increasing arthritis in my hand means the wider neck of a sixer is really hurting my thumb. I bought this for chordal, upper register stuff, so it's a no-go for me, unfortunately. It's a great bass, as Ibanezes ('s?) always are. Excellent build quality, good pickups and preamp, with a particularly lovely neck. Jatoba is a very tactile, smooth wood. I have it on my Aerium, and is my favourite neck, by a long way. The two blemishes are pictured, (pics 6 & 7),other than that, it's as new. In the past, I've had 2 SR sixers, one Premium, one Prestige. This one is just as good, just less fancy looking, and considerably cheaper. £300 posted in the UK is a great deal of instrument, I humbly suggest... Pictures:
  16. I'm curious about this bass. Does the eq cover the piezo? I read somewhere online that it doesn't, just volume...
