  1. I would say the Thomastik Jazz rounds are the perfect roundwound strings for fretless- very supple and smooth, but plenty of growl and bite. However, just checked, and they're 36" total length ( and £94 for a 5 string set!!!). So reading the above is a complete waste of your time... ... sorry about that.
  2. Very sturdily built piece of kit, well reviewed on YT. Lots of good features for the price - XLR out, effects loop, metal casing etc. I'm not a huge fan of the octave. The fuzz is VERY powerful, becomes distortion easily, compression is good, but the star of the show is the preamp. I've read/seen that it's based on the SVT, but can't track down the source. I can believe it though, cos it's ace - achieves that 'edge of breakup' sound beautifully. I'm only selling it because I've finally learnt how to use the A/B feature on my MS60B. Pics:
  3. Bought some months ago from Smanth of this parish, in excellent working condition (and still is). Wanted to try it with my double bass, but I've gone in a different direction, so it's now surplus to requirements. It's very versatile, and works well with all my basses, solid body electric, semi hollow, piezo etc. Lots of effects, boost stomp, tuner, 3 band eq with dedicated knobs, switch for mag/piezo/flat, mic input with it's own level knob, Di out with ground lift. Loads to go at. No power supply with it, runs on 4 AA's if you wish. £50 delivered within the UK. Pics:
  4. Would it be possible to turn the saddles back to front, thus putting the break point further back?
  5. How does the Rickenbacker collective feel about the Cheyenne? They look sweetly simple to me, compared to all the 'clutter' of the normal Ric's...
  6. Bought a Zoom A3 pedal from Samantha: well packaged, tracked, very good communication, and quick delivery. What more could you ask for? Deal with confidence! Sean.
  7. He looks as if he's been on the Dreamies for a good while already...
  8. More defence of Chris Hawkins: he does appear bland at first, but his gentle style fits the early morning vibe very well, he has a good relationship with his audience, and Names In Songs is excellent. (Was that what you wanted, Dad?)
  9. I'm near Barrow-in-Furness, Sth Cumbria, 40 mins from M6 J36.
  10. I would recommend TI rounds- very supple and smooth, with all the 'bite' of rounds ( and no bites in the fretboard). Expensive, but they seem to last forever...
  11. ...and just how did you get hold of my cat...?
  12. I have the sunburst that's for sale on here. Neck pickup nothing to write home about, but the bridge pickup is brilliant, punchy and switchable between single and parallel. The neck is really good too, and the tuners are excellent. Super light, too. I moved the top strap button to the base of the neck, and moved the other one higher on the body, and it now hangs perfectly. Definitely worth a try...
  13. In fact I've had to stop playing it- it sounds so good, I forget the merry hell it gives my thumb...
  14. Well it is definitely worth looking at - it has that lovely worn-in, battle scarred veteran look to it (and a tone to match).
  15. This might just be a passing whim, but I'd be interested in a part trade with a Squier bass vi (or HB equivalent). Check your cupboards and wardrobes, would you? Thank you kindly...
  16. Can I see your certificate, please sir? I'm a dB newbie, but it's certainly comfortable to play, and easy to get around. Definitely less intimidating than I'd imagined.
  17. Thanks chaps. The serial number might be appearing soon...
