  1. Thanks Lee, but I'm all good now. Cheers
  2. I found (with help on here) cream Jazz pickup covers on eBay - chguitars...
  3. Sid bought a set of strings from me. Instant payment, good communication, all very good. Cheers Sid.
  4. Looks great too. Very pleasing arrangement of thumb rest and preamp deletion. Well done, that man.
  5. Sorry for the late reply. E. 95cm A. 97cm D. 97.5cm G. No taper. 95cm to the start of the winding. Hope that's helpful. Cheers.
  6. Thanks for all the input, chaps. Sorted now, thanks to your help.
  7. Where are they all? Can't find a pair for love nor money....
  8. I think these are Rotosounds. The ball ends suggest D'Addario? I stand to be corrected... Don't know the gauge or construction either! They do play nicely, though. Cut for a 4 inline headstock. Very little use, as I prefer flats. A tenner gets them posted to your door. Pics:
  9. Maruszyzck short scale flatwounds, cut for 2+2. Very nice strings, smooth with great tone, not too stiff like some flats. Tenner plus postage. Pics:
  10. These came with my Dean B2, and I was quite impressed with them- quite supple and bright. Don't know anything more about them, I'm afraid - gauge, construction, make- it's all a mythtery (as Toyah used to say). If you fancy taking a punt, a tenner gets them to your door... Pics:
  11. Can't remember where these came from, or off what bass, so apologies for sparse info. I think they're D'Addario, cos of the coloured ball ends... They're cut for a 2 a side headstock, they're bright and new looking. Can't even tell you if they're nickel or steel, or even the gauge, so if you fancy a mystery lucky dip, here you go...! Pics:
  12. Cort B4 FL MHPZ, to give it it's full title. I've had this 2 or three years, thoroughly enjoyed it. I've come to the conclusion, though, that my Portamento does everything the Cort does, so putting this up for sale. 34", 38mm nut width, 42mm depth to the body. Chambered mahogany with blackwood top plus F hole and a matt finish; all makes for a beautiful result- a very handsome bass. It sounds as good as it looks, too. The magnetic pickup is clear and focused, the piezo is warm and 'big'. The two together sound too middy for my liking, but adding some piezo (tone off) to the Bartolini makes for a big fat bridge pickup tone. Bad points: No lines on the side of the neck, just dots and binding (I added white lines, now almost disappeared). Dead spot at the D on the G string. No forearm chamfer. Good points: Hipshot tuners 26 positions Thumb rest Lightweight (3.5kg on the scales, but they might not be 100% accurate. It's certainly not heavy). It's wearing a new set of anonymous rounds at the moment, but it really prefers flats, the piezo certainly. £300 gets it delivered to your (mainland) UK address, in bombproof packaging. It's in very good condition, not showroom, as I play it a lot, but never carelessly Pics:

  13. Good question. It was there when I bought it, give, honest. I'm not sure if it's the remnant glue from another 'layer' of material, now worn away/removed...
  14. As per the title, 34" scale, cut for 2+2 headstock (won't fit a P bass). Very little use, as I much prefer TI flats. £25 posted. Pics:

  15. Black Comfort Strapp, 8cm wide, 150cm long at it's fullest length. In well used, but solid condition. These are excellent straps, very well padded, and extremely supportive. The suede end tabs are well used, as the pics show, but no tearing or stretching visible. £15 plus postage. Pics:
  16. 7cm wide, 140cm long (with more to go if needed). In good, but used condition. £20 plus postage. I'm not actually sure if it's leather, tbh. The wear around the strap holes would maybe suggest not. Can't quite tell... Pics:
  17. These came from a G&L Fallout Tribute (4 inline). As new. Weight is 86.4g each, and they come complete with bushes and screws. Shafts to fit 18mm holes (approx measurements) £30 plus postage. Pics:

  18. As per the title, in excellent condition. Bought from here, not used for a good while, so up for sale. Does the job very well, and takes up a tiny amount of space. Also has a usb port, but I've not tried that out. £20 plus £2 for postage. Pics:
  19. I'll take this, please. 3% left on battery, so will give details tomorrow!
  20. The title says it all, really... No? Ok. You know when your strings go dead, right? You can boil them, innit? And they'll be resurrected... Well, what if you want to transfer strings from a fretted to a fretless? The little dinks caused by the frets mean they won't play right, on the fretless. So will boiling ease the kinks out of the strings? Or do you have to iron them as well? Answers on a postcard, please...
  21. I would say the Thomastik Jazz rounds are the perfect roundwound strings for fretless- very supple and smooth, but plenty of growl and bite. However, just checked, and they're 36" total length ( and £94 for a 5 string set!!!). So reading the above is a complete waste of your time... ... sorry about that.
  22. Very sturdily built piece of kit, well reviewed on YT. Lots of good features for the price - XLR out, effects loop, metal casing etc. I'm not a huge fan of the octave. The fuzz is VERY powerful, becomes distortion easily, compression is good, but the star of the show is the preamp. I've read/seen that it's based on the SVT, but can't track down the source. I can believe it though, cos it's ace - achieves that 'edge of breakup' sound beautifully. I'm only selling it because I've finally learnt how to use the A/B feature on my MS60B. Pics:
  23. Bought some months ago from Smanth of this parish, in excellent working condition (and still is). Wanted to try it with my double bass, but I've gone in a different direction, so it's now surplus to requirements. It's very versatile, and works well with all my basses, solid body electric, semi hollow, piezo etc. Lots of effects, boost stomp, tuner, 3 band eq with dedicated knobs, switch for mag/piezo/flat, mic input with it's own level knob, Di out with ground lift. Loads to go at. No power supply with it, runs on 4 AA's if you wish. £50 delivered within the UK. Pics:
  24. Would it be possible to turn the saddles back to front, thus putting the break point further back?
  25. How does the Rickenbacker collective feel about the Cheyenne? They look sweetly simple to me, compared to all the 'clutter' of the normal Ric's...
