  1. Don't think I've ever used a thumb rest, just the floating thumb thing. The strings are La Bella white nylons. Awesome strings.
  2. I have the fretted 5 string, and it's a real grower. I liked it enough to buy it, obviously, but changed the strings--white nylons, E-C, and it's just got better and better and better. Goes from db to acoustic guitar convincingly, and a real solid presence. I've gigged it, with compliments on the sound, and it's really easy to play. Great neck, too. I'm a fan...
  3. Not sure if it's still available, but...
  4. I have this bass- it's just awesome. Does everything you could want. Buy it! Think there's one for sale on here...
  5. I would seriously recommend the C4 plus OTAB, with the Markbass preamp. I had the 5 string, and it was great, (but I really like the pickups anyway) £390 at Bass Direct....
  6. Sold my Ibanez Ergodyne to Marco. Communication was good, payment was quick, and Marco is a pleasure to work with. Cheers!
  7. Thanks Mr W. I think it's a steal, too, but it's a real buyer's market at the moment. Had some nibbles, but no real bites yet....
  8. For the rest of this month, I will let this one go for £150 posted...
  9. Just until the end of the month, I'm prepared to let this go at the criminal price of £700 plus postage...
  10. Thanks for a good, clear description. I'm contemplating something similar in the future, and this info helps. Ta
  11. I can see I'll have to give Roger a finder's fee-he's doing a better job of selling it than me!
  12. Thanks MrWalker. It's a real 'musician's' instrument
  13. Thanks for the endorsement, Roger. I forgot to mention the (lack of) weight...
  14. Which is in Sth Cumbria, near Barrow-in-Furness
  15. Thanks for the tip. £60 seems a bit steep to me, though...
  16. I forgot to mention in the description one thing: I widened the B nut slot to accommodate a heavier gauge string, but inadvertently deepened it at the same time. You can see in the 5th pic, I have to use a small piece of spare string to lift the string, otherwise it rattles. Stupid, I know, but there we are. Doesn't affect the sound/playability in any way
  17. This is one awesome instrument. I bought this last year on here from Roger (Bassmayhem), using money saved for a change of car. Said car has now been changed, and the loan must be repaid. That's the ONLY reason I'm selling, as it is just fantastic. 34" scale, 55mm at the nut, 21mm depth at the nut, 17mm spacing at the bridge. Swamp Ash body, Spanish Cedar top, mahogany and bubinga neck, macassar ebony fingerboard, mandolin frets (I think). Bartolini humbucker, Hipshot piezo Bridge, active vol and balance, with Bartolini internal gubbins. There was a tone knob, but Roger removed it, as it was a passive tonestyler, incompatible with the active preamp. I haven't missed it, as the balance knob does a good job of changing the tone. And what a tone. This is a BIG sound. I will try to include a link to the Clement site, which has a page devoted to the construction of this very instrument. It also has sound examples which are very accurate. https://www.clementbass.com/2014/01/the-clement-singlecut-anne-chambered-bass/ https://www.clementbass.com/2014/09/5264/ The above links have all the info needed, I think. It will come bubble wrapped to death inside an acoustic gig bag, itself bubble wrapped inside a box. I paid £900, and considered it a bargain for a handmade boutique instrument, so that's what I would like for it. It has a few minor dings, but only consistent with a well played instrument. Thanks for looking. Cheers, Sean
