hiya from a lazy bassist who doesnt play too often
chrismuzz replied to WhoNeedsYou's topic in Introductions
Welcome! i'm a lazy bassist too but in a different way... I play bass so that I have an excuse to get out of doing other less fun things -
From comments I've heard and read by the few who've owned one, it seems that the Markbass TTE heads are a good contender for the 'best' out there, if you want a massive clean all valve sound. They're supposed to be comparable to the Mesa 400 but in a ridiculously lightweight package. They look sexy too
A very same T-45 seems for sale in the Netherlands since Jan 15th (Marktplaats) for 325 euros, £270, without OHSC. How can £400 be justified?
Hey buddy, discussions about the price should be kept to private messaging only on here I'm afraid. Besides if I was going to buy one from the Netherlands, import it, and source an OHSC from somewhere I'd end up paying more than this one is going for!
That kind of activity still carried the death penalty at the time , especially at my school .
My school had a policy on public displays of affection, but that's a bit harsh! -

I thought having sex with blokes would be more convincing proof -
I enjoy playing the simpler songs in our set, there are plenty of songs I get to 'show off' on anyways! One thing I've always enjoyed about bass is that it encourages you to listen to everything that's going on and enjoy that, instead of just concentrating on what you're doing.

The guy probably did it out of ignorance, not realising that it's bad form. I wouldn't be angry AT him. Although he should have asked permission first, as well as stating in the ad that the pictures are however old, and from the previous seller.

I would have guessed Ernie Ball. Definitelty not Warwicks as the headstock end look kind of like springs on those... IE much less winding.

This one made me laugh too.The solo is great! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7FzLX0Ql8M

D'Addario Prosteels are the brightest I've used. Elixir steels are not far off at all, and they will last you more than one gig too!

I'd never even heard of G&L until I had been a member on here for a little while. I've still never seen one played or even in a shop before!
Yes, I spotted that too! "Pull me under" isn't it?
Their 'radio hit'
Fixed
They sometimes even have a bar or two of 4/4 in there as well!

Even Dream Theater have a lot of relatively simple parts in their songs

I just hate it being pronounced War-Wick

They hate him over on TB, but I think his playing, while relatively simple, grooves so well and suits the music perfectly. I quite like his nasty tone too!
Some are so good at that, that you end using the phrases youself.............erm ...... allegedly........
I do this all the time, mostly falls flat when no bugger knows what I'm referring to -

They've done a few in this series: Bearded Lady - Bass Fuzz Distortion A bass fuzz of epic proportions, the Bearded Lady employs vintage fuzz tones controllable via ‘hi’ and ‘lo’ fuzz rotary controls, making sure you don’t lose any of your bottom end while still maintaining those transient highs that define your tone. OctaDose - Bass Octave Taking what Ashdown has learned from their very own tried-and-tested sub harmonizer from their ABM range of bass amplifiers, Dr Green has expanded on this, allowing control over wet and dry signals and amount of octave the user wants to add. The OctaDose will track down to a low-B with the utmost precision and the simple rotary controls make it easy to dial in anything from subtle undertones to full-on sub-synth bass. Doctors Note - Bass Envelope Filter Bringing funk back to the forefront of technology, Dr Green has produced an Envelope Filter pedal that sounds as cool as it looks, full of huge traditional sonic envelope goodness. Simple rotary controls enable you to dial in and set your oscillating frequencies with ease, allowing the funk to pour from the player’s finger tips. Bass Verb - Bass Reverb The Dr Green Bass Verb is one of the simplest pedals in the range. With the control of the wet or dry signal, the user can easily dial in the perfect reverb, from endless cathedral style reverb to nice, tight, subtle, short plate style. Simply a fantastic quality and easy-to-use reverb pedal made for bass players who need a bit of space around their core tone. The Aspirin - Bass Compression A high quality bass compressor pedal in a compact easy-to-use package, the Aspirin is perfect for the bass player seeking consistency in their sound. Using the Input to drive the amount of signal, the pedal automatically processes the compression after the ratio has been adjusted to suit, a simple output pot then allows the output level to be perfectly matched to the volume required. Read more: http://www.premierguitar.com/Magazine/Issue/Daily/News/Ashdown_Launches_New_Dr_Green_Bass_FX_Pedals.aspx#ixzz2IHNEbWya Interesting that there's no chorus, tuner, or overdrive...
Really? I can't understand anyone over 10 needing to see a film more than once every 5 years. IMO most films made in the last 20 or so years are mostly eye candy with substance to the script or characters. Plus once I know what happens I find little attraction in ever seeing it again.
My most watched DVDs are music ones to be fair... But there are some films that actually get better the more you watch them, things you don't notice the first time around. Others are just a good laugh -
Peavey, Yamaha, Squier, Ibanez, all good choices
The singer is the star, you have to do what's right for the singer. Who told you music was a nice, easy hassle-free occupation?
This haha I bought two basses for my cover band. One for Eb / Drop C#... The other one's a 5 string in standard, for when the guitarists play in Drop B
