1. Peavey, Yamaha, Squier, Ibanez, all good choices
2.
The singer is the star, you have to do what's right for the singer. Who told you music was a nice, easy hassle-free occupation?
This haha I bought two basses for my cover band. One for Eb / Drop C#... The other one's a 5 string in standard, for when the guitarists play in Drop B
3. Behringer do loads of good stuff. Quality control isn't the best out there, but if you get a naff one just get it replaced. If you get a GOOD one it will last just as long as any other bit of kit. The only behringer gear I've ever hated is their bass cabs or combos.
4. Haha yeah, I know it was the longest shot in the world If it's still here in 2 weeks I might get in touch...
5. ...unless you want Sansamp + cash?
6. I'd love this, but it will definitely be gone by the time I get money. Good luck to whoever nabs it, the price is incredible!
7.
The big labels fully expect DVDs to be in the same position in 4 years time as CDs are now, with CDs by then all but gone.
I hope not! I like having physical copies of my music and films. I value it so much more when I can hold it in my hand, and I feel like I've got more to show for my money... Not to mention a backup if my computer of precious ipod dies!

ZVex Basstortion

£150 for a basic distortion pedal with a tone knob and a bright switch, and no blend? Come on!
9. That's pretty cool. Glad they haven't just knocked up some random tacky pile of crap with a load of bells and whistles on it that Cliff never would have used.
10.
This is my temporary board:
Simple, but extremely high quality. Love it! What basses and amps are you using with this setup?
11. Squiers sound nice I would prefer the Tobias though, I know a guy who owns three of them and he gets an awesome live tone! Another budget brand to think about would be Peavey. You can usually pick them up much cheaper! My 5er was £100
12. I bloody love Peaveys I have 4 of them, and I don't own any other basses. They all have pretty slim necks, the thickest being on the Zodiac. It's kind of like a Jazz at the nut, but widens more so as you get further up. The International Series 5 string feels quite chunky too, there's definitely more wood to get your mitts round than there is on the 6 string Grind! The International series 4 string has a very slim neck though strangely!
13. Looks pretty cool, not convinced it's a Fender though...
14.
I used to have a similar problem. I took a leave from dimebag darrell's book, and started to use tortex picks (1.14/ purple) and use a Stanley knife to score the sides which leave the sides much easier to grip and keep still in your fingers
The bassist from Lamb Of God does this too, apparently he got the idea from dime! I rarely use em myself, but I've got a few 'cactus picks' which have a nice grippiness to em
15. Lamb Of God - Redneck I don' hate the song but my god it's SO fast and so hard to play!
16. Have you tried AKG ones? Mine are well good, had them for about 4 years
17. I stumbled across Basschat while I was doing research into getting a good overdrive sound. I went from a Bass - Lead - Amp guy, to having a pedalboard and wireless kit too! I've also sold one bass, bought two, and even replaced the pickups in one of them! The only thing that's never changed is my amp and cab, but I've nearly succumbed to GAS in that area a few times! I know a HELL of a lot more about the equipment I use, and how to get many more usable sounds. I think I've become a little better at playing tastefully too but that's debatable!
18. I've cut my bloopers down to about 2-3 per gig on average now, so on a good night that's one per hour... I swear the lead guitarist makes none though!
19. Hahaha! Nice one mate
20. Zoom's effects are decent in my opinion, but I have to agree with you they REALLY upped their game for the B3. Considering the price of the thing I'd be tempted to keep it and see how it fares on the skinny stringed guitar!
21. I think we did OK keeping it close enough One thing I'd be interested to know about the pedal... How the tone control works, and if it affects the tone of the clean blend! I'm hoping the clean is totally unaffected by anything not in the clean loop.
22. it varies on the number of strings and the style, here's an extreme two examples
23.
But you know, these experiments have to be tried!
You're bang on there I think I'm going to have to try this Billy Sheehan pedal though when I can scrape some pennies together! I wonder what putting a Sansamp on a low gain setting in the clean loop would sound like!!
24. I forgot about Warwick EMPs! I might have to try those out as I've become a big fan of coated strings! It seems both these and Elixirs are limited in gauge options at the moment though.
25.
Oh who am i kidding?
That's what I was thinking, I've seen your photo albums on facebook
