1.
So did my cock!
thanks - now i've got the image of your cock and a chickens head in my brain. that's me off my omlette
2. price drop, so you don't need to fawk out as much for this banging little cab
3. a chicken-headed headless bass. my universe just twitched slightly.
4. solved !
5. up-front a 15" speaker and a tweeter. round the back, a pair of 1/4 sockets and a pair of speakons it's a very light cab - easily a one-hand lift. good condition, but the carpter covering's a bit messy and it's got the odd dink here and there. it's been out of my house twice (both in recording studio), and the only occasion i've had to fiddle with it was when i removed the tweeter-protection lamp as i prefer not to tweet. (i'll replace it if you wish) [s]£75[/s] £65 pickup only from tottenham, north london, or sweet-talk me into a meet-up somewhere near.
6. i played for years in a number of different bands with a 150W trace elliot head and an ancient peavey 4x10 and never had problems being heard if you're having to compete with the guitarists then the first thing i'd do would be to sit down and educate them about how to eq for a live sound as what sounds good on your own often isn't good for playing with other musicians. ime rock/metal guitarists like to scoop their eq settings, which doesn't cut through live so they end up turning up way too loud. get a good sound balance with the drummer and then get the guitarists to work to that. ymmv of course
7. proco did make a 'bass rat' - it was called a juggernaut and doesn't seem to have that good a reputation from the reviews i've seen, tho i've not tried one myself. from that clip of the darkglass, i think a rat could be a cheaper alternative. the turbo rat keeps a bit more low end than the current model of rat, but has a lot heavier distortion. hth
8. so nme readers voted a 9-year old song in at no. 1 ? that displays a surprisingly in-depth knowledge of music for your average nme reader.
9. we all on the jazz fags tonight ?
10. nothing beats a nice jazz quartet. welcome !
11.
Don't do the gig; your health comes first!
plus the one it's really admirable that you don't want to leave your bandmates and the fundraisers without a bass player, but there will be other gigs and charity events to play... which you'll be able to give your all at when you're all better !
12.
Would they take them???
our council seem to take anything metal we leave for them in the recycling, but whether it actually gets recycled or just sorted and dumped i don't know.
13. final chance before gumtree
14. anyone put their old strings in their council recyling bin ?
15. i run my svp into a soundtech ps802 (spec here) in exactly the way you describe and it works a treat. sadly i'm not sure whether they're available these days...iirc i got mine from smart sound direct, who don't seem to be in business any more. ok - so not the most helpful reply, but at least you know it can be done
16.
There's a cracking little bass lick by Lord Macca in the middle of 'Everybodys Got Something To Hide Except For Me And My Monkey! '
and a cracking bass sound too.
17. burp, i mean bump.
18.
Have you still got the original pickup with it?
no, i'm afraid not - i sold it here. but the stock MEC was very low output indeed.
19. "i f***ing love G, me ! "
20.
It's a liquid you can buy from places like Halfords that restores the shine and colour to faded car paintwork. If you were into cars (and car cleaning) in a big way, you'd probably already know about it. If you're not, you probably won't ever need to
thanks
21. i'm going to ask this question as i always think that if you want to know the answer to a question, then someone else will. what's t cut ?
22. aha - now we're cooking with gas... much, much faster
23.
I'm not sure! It was on there when I got it but it does look like some sort of upgrade similar to the 'Badass' types. You can move the saddles along a dovetail type arrangement.
looks like a wilkinson bridge to me - i had one on my jazz bass for ages...very underrated imho
