Pm'd
and replied - in the post to you monday
4. no, i'm not offering the humber bridge, but i've got two bridges in my parts box... [s]a fender bbot (from a fender cowpoke i think) a silver warwick rockbass bridge (from a streamer standard)[/s] no screws i'm afraid, but PM me your address and i'll post them off. pics ? you want pics ? can we just say they're in ok condition ?
5. i've just remembered i've got a schaller 3D in black in my parts box... if you decide to go down the drilling route, PM me your address and i'll send it to you
6.
Why not use Warwick directly through their site? When I've made orders they've had everything I've needed in stock & have been fast to deliver. They answer any queries pretty fast as well.
plus the one
7.
Well, having had a quick look around I think it would have to be a Streamer as I'm not that keen on the other body shapes. Would be looking at sub £500 though and I haven't really got the cash at the moment (always happy to receive cheeky offers). As always thanks for all the comments - if I could find a Streamer Standard like the one I played today for £200 I'd be very happy.
i'm thinking of selling my bartolini-ed single-pickup streamer std... pm me you're interested - i think it's in your budget.
8.
I've seen that many guitars/basses "fall over" in soft cases that even though they might be well padded i like the security of a hard one
this is kind of my worry - and going top over tail in mud with a bass in a softcase on my back. thanks for the thoughts folks - i think it's the streamer. thinking about it, the warwick's got a great punchy midrange...it'll sit well with the techno beats. i'll get a decent case for the t-bird next month.
9.
I'll gig any bass, no matter how valuable, but there's no need to be silly about it. There are some basses I won't take to rough pubs, just in case, but I will take them to nice pubs.
i know what you mean - what's the point of having a bass if you don't take it out for a whirl now and again ? think todmorden on a friday evening = a rough pub ?
10. if the pickups on your fortress were anything like the ones i had in mine, then i'm not suprised you changed them. i put bartolinis in and the change was amazing - the originals were just so quiet.
11. then there's the issue of rain...i'd rather be fielding a passive bass if the last fezzy is anything to go by (where i poured water out of the control cavity of my p-bass after i left the stage !)
12.
When i do festivals i soundcheck/linecheck,then put the bass in the car/van until just before stage time, quick tune up,ready to go.I havent used a hardcase at any gig for over ten years.
if i were sure of the set-up and logistics of the fezzy i'd prolly do the same, but it's all a bit of an unknown at the moment. add to that london - craster - preston - todmorden route i'll be taking, i think a hardcase is a must !
13. three votes for the warwick - kind of the direction i was leaning. it's a shame, cos the t-bird sounds great for the type of music, but safety first i guess. think a bit of warwick set-up tweakage is on the cards for tonight.
14. i'm in a dilemma (nice motors, as ted chippington would say)... the spacerock/techno band i play in have a gig in todmorden (at todstock) in two weeks time and i'm debating which bass to take. i'd like to take my recently-bought epiphone thunderbird pro, but i only have a softcase for it at the moment - i'd be fine with that if the gig were at a usual venue, but with the mess that fezzies tend to be i'm a little dubious about not having a hardcase. the other option is my warwick streamer std - which i have a hardcase for and is a little more 'sacrificial' than the thunderbird. getting a hardcase for the epi isn't an option this month, so do i brave it with a softie, or take the warwick ?
15. just received paul's mad professor blueberry bass overdrive - possibly the best-packed pedal i've ever got in the post. top guy to deal with - as groovy as his avatar !
16. as requested - a photo (looks dustier than it is !)
17. bump in a price-cut stylee
18. so do i
19. i play fretless at home, but haven't yet live. i enjoy it as a change and it's nice to get a new set of skills under your belt, but i'm not virtuoso. never go for the jaco honk tho...but then i never use bridge pickups on basses anyway !
20. they're orgone accumulators
21.
Having gone the DIY route for many years I now believe that making your own leads is only worthwhile if: 1. You are already an experienced solderer, or have the time and patience to learn how to be one. 2. You have lots of free time that wouldn't be better spent doing something else. 3. You are going to be making up a large quantity of leads, or you need some highly specialised ones. 4. You are looking to save every penny that you can.
5. you enjoy it.... um...or is that just me ?
22. lovely ! i'd be all over this if i could kid myself i play fretless well enough to warrant 2 of them !
23. nice bit o'wood there
24.
Have you got the dimensions of that pickup mark?
sorry dan, tommorichards just bagged it, pending the usual.
25. yes - both are still available. (sorry - i missed the post about the bridge von Braun) PM me !
