1. Wow.... Time tunnel condition !
 2.
Pleased you've sorted it
Think I may just go back to bed !
 3.
Bought mine online via this site: http://www.axesrus.co.uk/login.asp
You know, I was sure I'd got Artec preamps from Axerus before, but couldn't find them on the site last night....but you're right....Doh ! http://www.axesrus.c...em-p/se3p-a.htm Blimey, the link I posted doesn't work either...I can see I was firing on all cylinder last night. Sorry !
 4. You could try dropping this lot a line... EDIT http://lifelongmusic.co.uk/shop/artec-se3p-bass-and-guitar-electronics-board
 5.
Lets hope I'm wrong. It would make me feel better about people
Seeing as I'll never likely know, it's best to assume it went no further than the cutting room floor.
 6. I imagine they do it cos it looks like people expect it to look. It's TV....it's a spectacle, not an Open Univeristy course.
 7.
a.) a bit off treatment there I think b.) someone getting live bass recorded for free?
Live bass for free ? Possibly....seems a /very/ long-winded way of doing it tho, but I guess some might be that devious.
 8.
What drives folk to post videos of themselves playing bass covers, for all the world to see?
Don't know, don't care....if it makes them happy fine.
 9.
Czukay/Leibezeit - just to get the totally obscure out of the way.
Very definitely.... Worth a mention are Hooky and Stephen Morris from Joy Division....I've met a few drummers who've really rated Morris' playing and agree with them. Maybe not 'best' like Peart/Lee, but still great together.
 10.
You're comparing a Precision to a Jazz, the P will always be deeper and fuller!
Here be truth.
 11. This one's legit - look, it's got his name all over it.
 12. It's not just drummers, I was at my weekly 'folk jam' last night...the set-up is bass (through a 15w amp), violin, 12-string and 6-string acoustics. The 6-string player goes straight into mad busking volume, which there's no need for in someone's living room. Thankfully the violinist is very good at moderating his volume. Last night I did end up asking him to calm down a bit as we couldn't hear the 12-stringer.
 13. They look suspiciously like they were written by a guitarist.
 14. 'Tears of a Clown' - when you get that rolling verse groove going it's hard not to smile.
 15.
Who reads the comments? You'd be better off reading the daily mail or the comments on the BBC News website. Either that or join a conversation with me in off topic.
Oooooh, what y'like ?
 16.
He probably bought it from Thomann a couple of days ago.
As a Deko
 17. Maybe he'll play it on the TV show....maybe not. I think you're supposed to enter into the spirit of a charity auction and that it being "one of Sting's basses" is a generous description for the sake of raising some money. He is going to sign it, that adds some value to it.
 18.
It is indeed very similar to the 'what is art' thread a year or two ago, but with the slight qualification that this isn't quite the same type of question.
To me it's a similar question in that it's ultimately just a talking point - there is no answer other that "I find it so"
 19.
It's all about subjective perception, really.
Show me an objective perception !
 20.
"A sound is musical if..."
... I consider it so. It's a bit like 'What is art ?' - the ultimate answer is "It is what we say it is"
 21. Looks great - very nicely done.
 22.
Be bold on a new day when you are feeling on form.
Good advice.....I'd always start a big project early in the day
 23. Splendid. A thumbs-up from me and Mrs. Pook
 24. I'd try the Precision first, but give them a spin on them all.
 25. I know a member called xilddx has his chrome streamer on sale here a couple of years ago....the search function should dig up the thread.
