  1. The difference between the RM500 EVO I & II is that the I has a shiny front panel rather than matt and is double the weight (tho still only about 4kg). Volume, EQ and soundwise they’re the same, I’ve had both, still have the EVO II.
  2. In all seriousness get a cab and take the amp & Super Compact. Less sweatiness when you get to the venue, power you know will cope and no dreading the walk back after a gig carrying your gear.
  3. Andvwill def have more teeth 🦷
  4. Never seemed like showboating to me Pete, your gig reviews have always been great imo, especially when including things like the long hours on the road afterwards, something that can often be forgotten about, details like these made the reviews nicely balanced.
  5. The Bowel Unloaders on tour!
  6. Thanks Pete, I forgot to put the EVO-IV part in
  7. And all those looking to buy as well
  8. I’m a recent convert to short scale basses (Mustangs). As well as the weight reduction which was the primary reason for switching I’ve found that they just really suit me, the sound, the practicality of having smaller lighter case to cart about/fit in the car, everything. Sure not every instrument will be right for everyone but those that say short scales are rubbish & dead, well that may be the case for them but certainly not for me.
  9. From the not wanting something with a lot of upkeep/that can’t be fixed comments I’d look at Ashdown, especially as you’re in Essex (as are they). In my opinion Fender & Ashdown work very well together. But I’d def look at used gear, really maximise your options.
  10. The other thing I’ve found is that if it has the three foldable legs position it in front of you as in the Y shape. Then if someone comes flying forwards into it it goes to either the left or the right due to the leg that’s pointing at you. Whereas if you position it like an upside down Y it hits you straight in the face.
  11. I tried watching it as from the ads it looked great, sadly lasted 15mins and gave up.
  12. Sadly it’s due to arthritis in the knuckle on my left thumb, reducing neck width to Jazz dimensions really helps so I’m still Mustang as they do really help with the back issues, I’m just MIJ rather than JMJ now.
  13. Withdrawn 4 Hipshot USA 1/2inch Ultralites. In good condition, less than 2 months old. All fixings/screws included. £85 inc postage in UK
  14. Gonna keep hold of them for a while longer, so now withdrawn 2 x Ashdown PRO NEO EVO-IV 210, £250 each In pretty much new condition, only ever used them once, essentially they’re a lighter ABM sounding cab. Both come with Roqsolid covers. One has rubber matting on the top to prevent amp slippage. Size: H: 514mm(inc feet) W: 501mm 😧 342mm Weight: 14.5kg Watts: 300 Impedance: 8 Ohms Speakers: 2 x 10” BLUE LINE PRO NEO Horn: 3 Way Variable HF Driver Collection/meet up only
  15. Withdrawn Three Fender JMJ Mustang basses, £1000 each. 2020 (blue silks) at 3.9kg 2021 (green silks) at 3.7kg 2021 (red silks) at 3.6kg - trade agreed All come with a spare black scratchplate. No cases or packaging materials so collection/meet up only.
  16. I have to agree, whilst I don’t dislike Teenage Kicks there are much better songs from The Undertones, You’ve Got My Number, Wednesday Week, Julie Ocean to name a few which are all quite different showing just how good a band they were.
  17. I can’t see that happening, none of them will have credit cards to use for food/drinks/toilets/use of emergency exits……
  18. Well that’s a good question, I think I have to go with head rather than heart and take the Mustang for live work.
  19. Just got in from a Spacewasters rehearsal, going through 3 songs for recording tomorrow. Used my fave Precision as figure best to record with the instrument you play best. Went well, all sounding good. Then we get the call that it’s had to get cancelled due to the engineer having a family problem. Shame but we’ll reschedule. Edit - I should also point out that a full scale bass (both weight & size) really isn’t the right choice for me now, and although my Precision is my fave bass in all honesty my Mustangs suit the sound of the band better.
  20. For me it was Ashdowns ABM amps. I’d heard them being used and the people using them always had them set to that warm mushy “woolly” sound so I’d never bothered with them figuring that was all they did. But at a gig the provided rig was an ABM500 and matching 2x15. Precision & Sansamp plugged in I was amazed at the depth of sound available, and dare I say the H-word, heft coming from it. It wasn’t far short from the same Precision & Sansamp through a full Ampeg fridge set up.
  21. Good point, from what I understand was the same as with Saville
  22. Congrats, I had one of the Tony Butler Sigs and it was a really good bass, forget for the money just a really good bass.
  23. Great song, we started doing it a couple of months ago, got a really good groove/feel to it. And that break-out part, well it showed me where Is it Just Me by The Darkness may well have got its inspiration from, Dan Hawkins being a major TL fan.
  24. I reckon the neck may have been shaved down as the nut width on those should be 44mm, with a shallow depth to it. Great looking bass btw, never got round to owning a Road Worn Precision but did play a couple and loved them.
  25. I think Dave is soon going to have his own fan club here on Basschat. I’ve always had great dealings with him.
