  1. I’m sure it will be loud enough, but the depth of the sound will more than likely not be as full. Whether or not that makes any difference to you and your enjoyment of the gig, well that’s up to you, but you have the PA to handle the audience, utilise the monitors for more on stage sound and travel light.
  2. As above, all those will fit the bill nicely
  3. I’ve had a couple of 2 x 112 setups, as well as many 410s, didn’t really find that much difference between them. In your situation Dave I’d look for another OBC112, much easier to have 2 smaller/lighter cabs to cart about.
  4. Yeah I used to be one of those bassists that needed fresh zing for my sound, when using Rotosound strings it was a new set every 3/4 weeks, swapped to Warwick Reds and that changed to 8/10 weeks. Now in a different band a set of Elixirs last me about a year, much more wallet friendly.
  5. Nice looking set up there
  6. Same here, whatever basses I play I try for the same sound and play the same material, better that I play what I have and appreciate it more.
  7. Not many real highlights for me, probably the best was Slash’ blues album Orgy of The Damned. Never really been into blues but this is a good album.
  8. Given its small size & lack of weight but great power it’s worth looking at a Markbass CMD121P.
  9. Great crowd @cheddatom
  10. I’m in, I have a bass on way but it was purchased early December. I really need to move some gear on this year rather than buy more.
  11. Def a need for Carlos Fandango Wide Wheels!!
  12. Same for me, we’ve a great singer and 2 really good guitarists, me & the drummer do our jobs so those 3 can shine.
  13. I hope all is well, she did seem to be struggling a bit, hopefully just taking some time away from the norm.
  14. She did put up a few posts in another thread in Nov in Off Topic, may account for the no-shows but think I`ll message just to make sure all ok. Well done for noticing @Woodinblack
  15. For me personally it’s not so much about overall weight but more weight distribution. Reducing the headstock weight by - in the case of my bass - 176g makes the instrument balance better and drag less on my shoulder. Principal of levers and all that a reduction of 176g at the end of a 30” scale instrument is more noticeable than the same reduction in your hand.
  16. Thinking about this in greater depth, I don`t really do that much in my gigging band. Unlike many on here I don`t set up PAs, or lights, I don`t contribute to the song-writing, I don`t have anything to do with the merch and cos of my back I don`t gig with an amp so all I take along is my bass. I don`t even print set-lists. I play bass and I do backing vox.
  17. I was spending too much time wondering what was wrong with the other 4.6% and why they didn’t fancy me…….
  18. Put on the strings you want. I’ve always used rounds and never needed new frets.
  19. I’ve used one of these as part of a provided rig - the other part being an Ampeg 610. For stage volume to match the drums it was barely ticking over.
  20. There have been so many benefits to being a musician in my life that I’d find it hard to think of them all and write them down.
  21. Excellent, know what you mean re the Shape, I love that function on Ashdown amps
  22. Have you had a chance to use the rig yet @Ander87?
  23. Really good sounds in that demo
  24. Aside from strings I don’t envisage buying anything next year, if anything I should be offloading a fair amount.
  25. Airspeed velocity of unladen swallows, perhaps?
