  1. In my last band FB was invaluable, the singer utilised it to work really well for us.
  2. Def McCartneys finest hour!
  3. Thanks @stevie, I’ll drop him a message.
  4. As sadly OBBM no longer makes his wonderful leads is there anyone else that does - I’m sure I read that someone else is doing this but I can’t remember who. For info I’m after a heavy duty jack to jack speaker lead, 2metres. I’ve looked at Design A Cable but their speaker cable in comparison to OBBMs is rather thin - I want the big thick cable that he used.
  5. Imposter alert!!!
  6. Just got in from a Spacewasters gig at The Barn in Portsmouth. Went very well, the new 5-piece lineup settling in nicely. Stage sound and sound out front were good, and bonus, not too loud as not a very big place. Good crowd too, and we were asked to do 2 extra songs by the people running the gig as we had gone down so well. I used my JMJ Mustang Bass into my Ashdown RM500 v2, with that connected to the headliners Marshall VBC412. I also used my Nux wireless kit which worked a treat.
  7. Def a winning option!
  8. That rabbit certainly suffered, don’t forget Bunny’s Too Tight to Mention
  9. Although I can appreciate it as a good song Fairy Tale of New York by The Pogues. I just can’t stand it.
  10. Good call methinks
  11. I had a Player Precision as backup to my US Precisions, I also used it for overseas gigs and kept it in Germany for a while. When I got it I thought I`d have to change the pickup but was very pleasantly surprised with how good it was, no change needed. I think I kept everything on it stock aside from putting a Hipshot triple string retainer on in place of the traditional string tree, to add better stability to the A string.
  12. Well the Fender will obviously do Precision and looking at the bridge pickup you’d expect a good impression of a Stingray, plus the blend and eq options available. You say you’ve Jazz bass covered, the Fender gets the rest of the classic trio.
  13. It may well be that, as from the pic above two laid on top of each other look to be pretty similar in height to two standing next to each other. Or maybe it`s just to make the roadies work that little bit harder if they`ve misbehaved.
  14. This reminds me of years ago when my then band went out for a curry. The guitarist went to the toilet, and then walked in through the front door proudly announcing he’d just done a runner. Don’t think he really got it
  15. The Spacewasters will be at The Barn, Portsmouth this Thursday, 28th March with Pussycat & The Dirty Johnsons
  16. Five strings not for me, but that’s based on need not preference, if I needed one no doubt like @TheGreek I’d have 10.
  17. It could be the tweeter, I had a similar problem with an Ashdown cab and it was part of the tweeter that was vibrating/buzzing (even though I always switched it off). They changed it for me. Happened on the lower frequencies.
  18. We’ll all still be here should you return to the low end at some point Martin.
  19. I’ve played Precisions for years but due to back issues had to go short scale last year. I decided on the JMJ Mustang due to it being Fender and having a Precision width neck (I had briefly tried one before and liked it). To my surprise I think they suit me better overall than the Precisions. Of course the lighter weight and shorter scale help physically but I find it easier to get the sound I want from them too, plus the looser string tension means easier to play. And easier to cart about as they fit in a guitar gig-bag.
  20. I’d echo the above
  21. Agree, it’s similar and adding in about 30% of the bridge pickup brings in some mids getting nearer the Precision sound but its not quite there, pretty much like decaf, similar but not exactly the same.
  22. Like others above I’d say keep hold of some form of backline rig, just in case.
  23. Sorry to hear this Lewis
  24. Great interview Michael
  25. I agree Andy, having just put on a set of Ultralites onto my lightest (about 7.2lbs) JMJ Mustang it`s sorted the neck dive on it. I`ve another 2 which as they are heavier (still only 8lbs) the neck dive isn`t an issue.
