Zoom H5 Recorder with original box and accessories. I've used this primarily for IEM in a live environment for which it is ideal. Only selling because I'm now using a Behringer P16M. I've also used this for recording some gigs, it was excellent but not something I do often enough to justify keeping it. Collection from Harrogate welcome, or I can potentially deliver in Yorkshire, otherwise happy to post in the UK

Barefaced Three10 Teaser: Anybody Know More?
BassmanPaul replied to Obrienp's topic in Amps and Cabs
Meaning no disrespect, I don't see the point of buying a powerful speaker cabinet and then castrating it by driving it with a 50W amp. Even in the Sixties 50W didn't get you too far. -
Well, I don't know if I'm the first to buy something as a result of something learned/discovered at the bash, but I've just snagged a Lekato WS-70 UHF wireless kit for £30 on eBay. @GreeneKing it's mainly your fault (for giving me a go of your Lekato kit) but there are other culprits who were wandering around wirelessly. Thank you, you gits!

I remember that review! It was Rob Burns, a devoted Wal enthusiast from what I recall, who got to try it out and he was well impressed. I played a nearly identical example at the Bass Centre in Wapping around that time. It was epic, but heavy. Still, I would have bought it if I'd had the money at the time. I seem to remember the late and fondly remembered Pete Academy of this parish recounted how he bought a 20th Anniversary from the Bass Centre and had an ongoing problem with the pickups, which after much tooing and froing had to be replaced. Apparently it was a right carry-on lasting months and he was not best pleased, quite understandably. Maybe I had a lucky escape. That's one of the down-sides of a fairly complex design that can be quite temperamental, I suppose.

I used DC-Fix matt black vinyl. Got it from B&Q, £8.00 a roll. https://www.diy.com/departments/d-c-fix-plain-matt-black-self-adhesive-film-l-2m-w-450mm/1071137_BQ.prd I took the pickguard off, then wetted it, and applied the vinyl to the wet surface....stops it sticking straight away. Then used a credit card to squeeze the water out, and any air bubbles. I then used a craft knife to trim round the edge and to cut the holes for the pick-ups, input jack, the two knobs, and the screw holes. There was also gloss black, but I liked the contrast with the matt.

Welcome aboard!! Never to late to start, and excellent brain exercise as well as huge fun. I started in my 50s, wish I had done so years ago.

I listened the Journey To Love quite a lot earlier this year, great record. I love the sound SC gets out of his Alembics, but having played a couple (Europa & Rogue) i suspect they are a little bit of a marmite bass, from a sound and ergonomics perspective. There was 20th anniversary bass at Bass Bros recently (maybe still there) which i remember seeing reviewed in Guitarist magazine in the late 80s and lusting after it at the time.

Where are you based? To be honest, you could do it easily enough with a decent chisel, the surrounds would cover any slightly dodgy edges. -
Piano player in a bar, playing old standards to a room that doesn’t care. This drunk guy wanders over and says “Do you do requests? I want to sing” Pianist says ‘why not. Nobody will get upset’ So the drunk guy says “ok. I want to do ‘Life is a bowl of cherries’ but I want you to play it in 5/4 time. Pianist says “But it’s in 4/4. It won’t work.” Guy, getting a bit aggressive says “I want ‘Life is a bowl of cherries’ in 5/4 time, pal!” Pianst says “ok, ok” and starts playing in 5/4 Guy starts singing… ”Life is just a bowl of f*ckiiiiing cherries….” (I had my coat on before I started).

Also check out Steve Khan. Saw him live with Anthony Jackson and Steve Gadd at the New Morning. Steve Gadd had his kit at side of stage facing the band. He was amazing. Everyone was watching him

What did you use to cover the scratch plate? I want to do something to my white P bass plate but haven’t found anything quite large enough to cover it fully and have been nervous of getting a ripple in it.
