  1. Past hour
  2. Thank you for the information, they then were able to strike a balance between light body and light neck, something that wasn’t quite as successful with the weight relived Classic 5 I have (which I love nevertheless)
  3. That’s binned then 🤷‍♂️
  4. Is still available!😉
  5. Makes me chuckle a little how many Compact Bass pedals have popped up since this was announced, prices not much less than new. GAS is a terrible thing!
  6. Got my fender jazz in 1976.still got it .Love it as,much as the day i bought it.Be passed on to my grandson eventually along with my other instruments
  7. Yes, I've used one for years. Lovely bit of kit.
  8. It is a bit odd, you'd expect your friend to get the money not going to the now not-travelling member. I think you have the right approach though, but after the gig it's time for a proper think and a chat about how the band gets paid, and how that money is divided up in the future, as you're not too happy about it and I don't think I would be either. Good luck 👍
  9. Always regretted selling mine. Pm’d
  10. Nice! I’ve just bought a Providence dual preamp and I’ve been really impressed, so much clean headroom and very nice EQ!
  11. Yeah I think it’s a good price for a good jazz bass. But it’s not a Fender so probably that’s one reason…
  12. As a 19 y/o in college the only pedal I'd really come across was a dirt pedal 😅 It's very much a funk bassist's pedal eg Bootsy Collins, although also often used in combination with other pedals eg check out the bass line on Fratellis' cover of Bacarra's "Yes sir I can boogie", which I think is very cool, or on several Tool tracks. I'm sure the filter pedal users on this thread will be able to give plenty of examples of where it's been used tastefully and well. Obviously YMMV as to what's tasteful!
  13. At the very least, the dep should not be out of pocket. Any travel costs should be reimbursed. But I find the attitude of your bandmates pretty selfish, to be honest, and I would not want to be in the invidious position of finding a dep who then gets nickel-and-dimed in this way. If the members of the band want to treat this as a hobby, that's absolutely up to them and you. It's a completely reasonable choice, although from another point of view a band that plays for free undercuts all of those hardworking bands that don't. Either way, hobbies cost money, and in this case perhaps one of the costs should be making sure the dep's costs are covered. And yes, asking for the landlord to cough up on a busy night is completely in order. All of that aside, best wishes for a great night for all.
  14. Next up for my (Goth/post punk) lot, The InSect. Saturday week at Aces & Eights in Norff Larndaaan
  15. Every time I see the TU-3s, I can't help thinking it's a TU-3 that's been in a terrible accident...
  16. Epiphone thunderbird 60s bass, sunburst, very good condition, one small chip on the upper bout as per photo, plays and sounds nice. Gig bag included. Currently has a gibson logo on the truss rod cover, this is just a decal on black vinyl stuck to the truss cover, easy to remove if required. Would prefer collection or happy to meet/deliver in person for fuel contribution.
  17. Latest iteration of my board. Still using the Rockboard Tres 3.0 and the Providence Dual Bass Station, but my purchase of the new Boss Katana 500 head means my trusty Boss MS-3 has been replaced by the Boss GA-FC, which switches the onboard effects. I’ve also added a TU tuner, as the amp doesn’t have one onboard. The Rockboard Power LT XL still sits on the shelf and powers the Providence via 12v adapter, as well as the tuner. Basses go into the Providence and out of the Mod 2.0 to the amp. A stereo cable also comes out of the Mod 2.0 to connect the GA-FC to the amp.
  18. Thanks. We're both of that era where bass practice amps used to be terrible and they all sound pretty good to me these days. That Orange one I had was great too.
  19. I bought a new 5-string Clevinger in the early 90's. There were three models in the shop 4, 5, and 6. The fretboard had a bad slope, but a luthier fixed it. At the moment it sports the second set of strings. Low action, wonderful sound.
  20. Today
  21. I had this made for me 10years ago SB4000 fretless .. Fabulous basses had a fretted 4 string also at one point
  22. Leave the bass out in the sun then charge double..... 🙄😂🤣🤦‍♂️
  23. Nice one Tim, and nice Ampeg that you’re selling too
