  2. The late Gary Holton was in the Heavy Metal Kids..... were there any songs from them (didn't recognise any in the set list)?
  3. No, I've only got 7 basses and I'm on dicey ground as it is. I'll choose more wisely next time! šŸ¤£
  4. ...or at the very least, a much bigger sofa for the family photo.
  5. šŸ””šŸŽ¬ I have nearly recovered from my decades old irrational loathing of this bloke and you post this šŸ˜€
  6. "Should I buy three more basses?" What a bloody stupid question. šŸ˜„
  7. This is exactly me at the moment Mike. Having re found my love of playing, I haven't felt the same about playing with others unfortunately. The thought of 60 mile round trips twice weekly for practice, coupled with all of those late Saturday nights after gigs, being unable to sleep because I'm wired to the hilt, was enough to make me quit the band last night. I have family reasons also that were hugely instrumental in my decision. It's been in the post for a while. The band are such a great bunch, and there's no hard feelings. Hell, I'm even in reserve if their new bassist ever can't make a gig. That's how good the relationship is with them. Now, it's time to take a dive into what I want to play. I'm never happier than when I'm in my summer house in the garden on a warm day exploring new tunes, and trying out playing techniques that are new to me. Looking forward to it immensely. Cheers, George
  8. I still have the 1985 Stingray fretless I bought in 1987 or 88 from Julia Fordhamā€™s bass player. Iā€™ve been through many different fretted basses but this one has always felt and sounded just right to me.
  9. If itā€™s a song we have played before and we get asked, weā€™ll do it. Iā€™m always amazed at how happy it makes some people when they ask for a song and we actually do it.
  10. It's all her fault. Watching her perform 'Can The Can' on TOTP in 1973 did something to me.
  11. Iā€™m happy to help @orangepeelneil but suspect I might be at the other end of the country from you?
  12. Bit varied for me as i progressed thru bassists and music styles. Geddy Lee since 1976 Glenn Hughes Deep Purple era Richard Sinclair from Camel era Jeff Berlin from Bruford era
  13. Still not a clue... Though could that be John Taylor with the 80s hair? But no idea about the various random longhairs apart from Cliff.
  14. As I have just one wife with my almost 100 basses I guess I must be very lucky! šŸ¤£
  15. Definitely - a very under-rated Bass Guitarist, great showman and a very nice bloke to talk with.
