  1. Past hour
  2. Yes and the kicker is the gig is upstairs and no lift.
  3. Just for Fun adhoc Recording https://soundcloud.com/foxtrott-2/ibanez-anb-1006-funk
  4. I know times are hard, but how is this beauty still here?!
  5. I went to a jazz gig outside a bar in Utrecht last year. All the band members turned up on bikes. The drummer was especially inventive stashing everything inside the kick drum and floor tom and using a baby carriage trailer.
  6. OOF! That orange, black & maple Shuker is almost too nice to play. Wow!
  7. First time for us in the Bridgeness Club in Boness with BLOCKBUSTARZ Glam band last night. Another sold out gig for us which is always nice. Early load in at 4pm doors opened at 6pm. Started at 8:15pm finished at 11:30pm with a 30min break in the middle. Easy load in as emergency sxit was next to stage and cars were parked on roadside next to it so that was good. Long narrow club house with a large dance floor that we had dancers most songs 1st set and full for most of the 2nd set. Asked back for next year, feedback was great. Odd one as another Glam band that i used to be in was in the Boness Town Hall but that obviously didn't affect our ticket sales. Easy drive home with little or no traffic on the country roads. Used my Sandberg VM4 into Handbox WB-100 and Mesa 210/115 cabs. Sound wise i could clearly hear the low end but not the top end. Had to boost the top end a bit more than normal. Guitarist at half time told me he had same issue and noticed the bass top end was getting lost in first half. Singer had issues with his IEM and ended up taking them out. All in all tho the sound out front was excellent according to my wife who attends all my gigs. Lots of vids being taken but no pics as yet. Dave
  8. Bassida aka Funkhouser plays Huset in Aalborg, Denmark (2008) (Bassplayer for Prince, in her early days)
  9. Interesting, but it seems to be about the Nashville and/or country scene?
  10. Up for sale an immaculate 2022 German made Teambuilt Warwick Thumb bolt-on 4, purchased new 5 months ago. One gig and home use: not a single scratch, ding, dong... immaculate condition. Nice grained ovangkol body and neck, wenge fingerboard, golden hardware from factory (those usually came with nickel or black hardware),MEC active Gold pickups and two band preamp. With these recent builds Warwick guys are back to slimmer necks and bronze frets. So it plays like butter and has THE Warwick signature punchy, growly low mids in spades. Weight is 4,1 Kgs. Comes with all the papers, tools, candies in the nice Warwick gig bag. 1600 GBP or 1850 EUR, shipped to you door with traceable Air Courier shipment. Only UK or EU countries.
  11. No 11 of 30 and it plays and sounds amazing.
  12. Always found it interesting how totally different these are to the 4 string version. The pickup switch, body contouring and even the pickguard. I don't usually play a 5 string but I feel like it's such an upgrade with the Stingray
  13. I was thinking the same - it's in amazing condition! I was surprised it's the same price as the other, much more battered example they have for sale. That'll be why!
  14. Wow, I love the Original too! I can imagine that a loft space sort of exaggerates the movement. Neck movement wasn't a big deal for me when I realised that it was quite normal and easily corrected. I think it's a consequence of the very slender necks (and maybe it's an issue that Martin has addressed in more recent builds?). Good luck in your quest - lovely to be able to oder a new build Sei, if you decide to go in that direction
  15. I do love the Flamboyant shape too. Mine is an Original, which is still pretty nice... Interesting that you mention neck stability. I have noticed that too. My loft-based man-cave varies in temperature quite a lot, and I do notice surprising shifts in tuning and action. (Not serious, but more so than other basses in the same room.)
  16. I used to play in a band that had ‘I get the blues when it rains’ in its repertoire. And whenever we played at a wedding we always insisted on playing ‘Who’s sorry now’. No point in raising expectations unduly.
  17. Beautifully understated but incredibly elegant - these are just superb basses in every respect. I very sadly sold mine as the ergonomics just don't work for me (I have a Spector Shorty though!). I really miss the NS4 - these have to be seen close-up to appreciate the quality
  18. LOL indeed. When I clocked the pics I was 'Having that!'... then I saw the weight.
  19. I dont know anything about this bass but i have an 89 Korean Telecaster guitar which is superbly made. If the bass is made to the same standard, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it if I was in the market for one. As I understand it, the Korean factories inthe mid to late 80s made some great stuff. Quality started dropping off early 90s
  20. Anyone tried any of the other pedals?
  21. A lovely offer from Bass Culture above, and something I'd love to try myself. The Zoots look and sound superb. On Seis, I've had loads over the years and some reasonably recent models (and I'm in Manchester) - all gone now, I'm afraid, as I play shorties almost exclusively. I didn't notice a massive difference between the newer and older models to be honest, certainly not in terms of build quality. The flamboyant is, for me, one of the most beautiful bass shapes available - gorgeous lines and incredibly well thought-through. The only problems I ever encountered with Seis has been neck stability. It's not really much of a problem as adjustment is easy and straightforward - my basses just needed very regular adjustment (Manchester can be pretty cold and damp!). All this has me thinking about a short-scale Flamboyant with Herricks and a Lusithand (not that I'm sure that there's one around, though I did see an Original shorty on here).
