Anyone Recognise Any Of The Signatures?
binky_bass replied to binky_bass's topic in General Discussion
It's just arrived... Of all the places something like this could have come from, it came from Cash Converters. Yup. Good old Cash Converters. I took a huge punt on it when I noticed Aloce Cooper's autograph. Certainly wasn't anywhere near convinced it was legitimate when I bought it. But... having spent most of last night trying to find any information, I managed to find the 4 photos of Alice, Steven, Francis, Rick and Ian. All holding this guitar, and all with signature markings on the guitar they are holding that match exactly this one I now have in hand. I reached out to Warwick Stone (anyone that Watches Pawn Stars would know him as the British chap that values all of their Rock memorabilia). He responsed by email yesterday after having seen the guitar and the photos I posted here and confirmed it was legitimate. I've also reached out directly to Ian Hunter and Jeff Wayne (as I found their email addresses) as well as Gibson's current CEO, Cesar. Hopefully one of those will respond and be able to give me some more clues as to some of the other signatures! A hell of a find... -

Just a thought, should we not have a category for ‘Heft’?

Another Maruszczyk owner here whose cheesy truss rod snapped. Best description I read was "That looks like soviet era technology" 🙂 I too had the neck repaired and carbon rods put in, by the amazing @Manton Customs - mine's an elwood 5 and Robin even managed to match the aged binding around the board. They're lovely basses, once the truss rod issue is sorted, I love mine 🙂 GLWTS!

Looks good for me as well

Price drop now £115! Inspired by both new and old, the AfterLife has FOUR different internal analog circuits that provide 2 distortions and 2 fuzzes. Providing plenty of headroom and a ton of gain, these four selections will cover all the distorted ground you’ve got. While the outside boasts a lone Mode selection knob and a Volume control, there’s more under the hood to this one. Internal adjustable trimpots are available for all four modes, with parameters like overall Volume, Bias, Gain and Filter. The enclosure is 100% Solid Aircraft Aluminum Machined. The artwork on the front and back is laser-engraved, and each AfterLife pedal is 100% hand-wired and hand-built. Collect from Chesterfield or add £5 for UK postage. Cheers! Sam

Tayda do?! Slightly daft response - but also buying new from them probably isn't that much different from buying secondhand and postage ontop...

I'm surprised that Universal Audio haven't dabbled into bass amp territory yet with their UAFX range. I have their Fender and Vox recreations and they are very, very good.

9th good for me too just over two hours away

Does anyone have an interesting colour/finish 1590B enclosure they don’t want? Undrilled. Si

Thanks Dude! appreciate it!

I would have thought so considering a stacked pot counts as two.

Number of controls: does a push-pull pot count as two controls (one pot plus one switch)?
-
I used one of the amps from this range a few weeks back, was quite physically small and had to be pushed on the volume so I think was the lowest wattage model. But the sound was great, all 4 bands used it, a variety of different sounds, handled them all. What I really liked was that the lows were really tight and solid but no booming, a really good full bottom end but all notes had definition.

Origin Effects would kill it if they do bring out a B-15 model... I have their SVT and the Blackface models, and they are amazing for tracking in the studio if you can't use the real thing or for sending to FOH in a gig (for Festivals and/or shared stages it's a lifesaver). What other bass amps do you think OG should cover down the road? I wouldn't mind some Hiwatt, Orange... or even something a bit more obscure such as a Traynor.

First Bass Owned: Early 2000's Ibanez SR400NT (still have it!) 'Go To' Bass: 1979 Yamaha BB1200 - Such a buttery sound, lots of punch, infinite sustain... a P-Bass annihilator 'Your' Bass: MIJ Fender Mustang - The thinner neck of the Japanese models, the shorter scale and the punchiness of flatwound strings, it sits perfectly in mixes that don't require a "modern" sound.

Hi Everyone, I’m selling my Sennheiser EW 100 G4 Wireless Instrument System with Ci1 (E Band) £400 - including UK postage I’ve used this once live and less than a handful of times in a pre-prod environment. Owned for a couple of years and it lived in a rack. Complete with all original parts, plus the extra rack components for mounting and a couple of extra right angle cables for the body pack. Cheers!
