  2. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
  3. Oh, that sucks 😖. However, the bass looks great and Lee Sklar would hugely approve of your ‘flipping the bird’ with dislocated digits.
  4. I Drive The Hearse - Porcupine Tree
  5. Looks like a surface scratch, probably from a hasty string change.
  6. Well, randomly (actually trying each of the options on the label and hearing which suits best with your rig) flipping switches is a perfectly decent way to go. There's no-one else going to be able to tell you how your rig will sound with the various combinations and which of those you personally prefer.
  7. Looks great!
  8. Our band is pretty well known locally and I think people know who I am. I never get any calls to play with other bands. You're very lucky. Daryl2
  9. Hi Rob, Absolutely love this. PM sent!!!!
  10. I bought a couple of prints from a Dutch 2nd hand website. They're images of a Fender ad campaign from 1975/1976, but I can't seem to pinpoint exactly what I have bought. The prints are about A4 size, high quality paper and printing. I can find similar images online, but they always feature a lot more text under the images. Does anyone recognize these imges and can tell me what exactly I've bought?
  11. Back for sale after timewaster messed me about - reason for return, i didn't mention the 3/1000th of an inch off the frets when levelled and crowned - a newbie that didnt know why fret jobs are done - was worried why it was done on a new guitar - so i explain why and luthier also offered to talk to him- kinda like taking a car back to the showroom as you'd included top spec instead of factory spec - anyways you people on here will appreciate a lovely neck finish - i think he just didnt know what he wants - good luck getting a cheaper bass with lovely fret ends - ah well we live and learn. For sale lovely birch green Fender player 2 i bought early this year and have recently been using this or P bass to see what fits what i'm doing and the P bass has won - for that middy growl. Have bought a Squire CV Jag as back up - so now this faces being an occasional bass and it's a great player, so should be someones to use. Made in Mexico these are now really good little basses. Great QC Had luthier sort the frets, which he levelled , crowned (they were flat from factory!) and ran glue under each to make sure they pinged and bevelled off the slightly rough edges, basically your getting a Plex job but done by the hands of someone with 40 years experience. So now with the rolled edge finger board, satin finish, it is great to play. Dark rosewood board, with maple neck, the body colour looks even better IRL. Weighs about 8.5lb but balances great. So lightweight and versatile. Strung with new Ernie Ball Super Slinky 40-100 - very nice action. Very useable pickups. Comfortable bridge for palm muting. Priced to sell - collect from Clitheroe or meet up or can post to UK in box for £20 - if i post there's no returns - it's a lovely bass and sure you'll be happy unless you're not all there like last buyer

    Feedback for ikay

Ian bought a pedal from me - no-hassle, prompt payment and friendly comms. Many thanks!
  13. You mentioned that the neck wasn't properly finished and needed sanding earlier didn't you. Doesn't that make it faulty or not of satisfactory quality and consequently it should be on them to cover the cost of return under distance selling regs? If the finish is inconsistent on the neck it's undisputable surely?
  14. No problems! They’re knobs that enable you to adjust the tone and volume. The builder originally tried Precision pickups with a jack socket. This is an upgraded version with a jazz pickup, extra large magnets and the volume and tone controls. It’s quite an agricultural design, but it is effective. I used this as a backup in the case (if my other pickup broke). I never had a cause to use it and am moving to Evah strings which have a synthetics core, which means they won’t work with a magnetic pickup.
  15. I have bought a lot of guitars & basses online, both new and secondhand and so far I've not had a bad experience in buying new instruments with just the stock pics shown, however when I bought my GuitarGuitar exclusive AAA Gibson Les Paul standard, GuitarGuitar listed photos of each guitar, so I had a choice of over a dozen and knew exactly what I was getting visually as well as knowing the weight (I chose the lightest one, which also was the one with the best figuring). Just to be sure it wasn't a dead lump of porridge (it isn't) and as I am lucky enough to live a few miles from the Epsom branch, I was able to have it delivered there so I could check it over very carefully before accepting it. Come to think of it, I believe most of my other instruments with a natural or sunburst finish have been bought secondhand so I was able to see pics of the woodgrain before buying. My Ben Gibbard mustang is a good example of this, it has really nice grain in the Ash where the joins between pieces are not very obvious, whereas I've also seen examples with mismatched and/or ugly grain, which I'd not have been happy with if I'd bought unseen.
  16. I asked to escalate to a manager. They’ve now come back and said they can arrange collection for £25, which still doesn’t makes sense because 1. The bass has a fault, so I shouldn’t pay anything. 2. Their own policy is if you return a faulty guitar which they find to be non faulty, they then charge you £9.99 to cover the return shipping so where does £25 come from? The pics of the bass they have on their site aren’t mismatched like the one they sent me.
  17. Mainly known for playing a Club:
  18. It’s the online team. I think they’re based in Newcastle
  19. I've heard of Tina Weymouth, but I thought she played a Mustang.
  20. Captain Sensible of The Damned played one as well, in the early days of the band, before moving to guitar.
  21. It would bug me. I mean my Epiphone Jack Casady's flamed top isn't book matched, but at least each half isn't wildly different from the other... Do these retailers think we don't talk to each other? Attitude's a bit rum, I reckon.
  22. Today
  23. That was a bit of a rollercoaster. I’d strongly recommend the Bassrig SV and Fifteen for Ampeg tones.
  24. Making current models Pre-Hohner Hofners 👍
