  2. I understand Fender wanting the Leo stuff but is there any valuable physical IP that will end up on Fender products in the future? MFD pickups is one, I suppose, a good product but hardly a game changer for Fender. The bridge is nice but it's not really different to what I have on my Spectors. The MFD single coil "P90-alike" pickups on the ASAT guitars are amazing but like most G&L things, very niche.
  3. Ive managed to find a guitar box, so delivery is now an option
  4. 2 superb bass cabs In great condition, that have served me well but dont get used anymore and need a new home. Everything works without any issues, a couple of hex nuts missing off the back but can be easily replaced for pence if you really need to. Comes with 2 Hotcovers protective covers worth over £100. Would be interested in a trade for a Fender Mustang Bass. Specs Ashdown ABM 410H 600w 8ohm Ashdown ABM 115 300w 8ohm

  5. Best? Necks from China and an XB Driver. There's not been any bad.
  6. I have one of these in this colour and I can vouch for how insanely nice these things are! They actually feel like a well-played vintage instrument. Fender knocked it out of the park with these basses.

  9. No, I'm not. There are only 3 left before the band folds. 1 is the one where I was told to stand down, then there's the other one and then there's the big final bash with the ex-bassists. It is being billed as "a night with some of the bassists we sacked and some of our favourites." The final gig has been arranged where all previous bassists have been invited to play and 5 or 6 of them have agreed. I was recently told on arrival at a venue that my tone is too "trebley". I said that I can dial in whatever's needed at sound check only to be met with being told that we don't have time for things like that. I also get "told off" if I turn up early. I then get made to feel like I'm in the way. I'm always at least 10 minutes early with everything, I plan ahead, build in contingency and am very rarely late to anything. I was second car to arrive at the SW Bash as an example. I'd rather sit outside on BassChat for 15 minutes than be stressed and rushing to be on time. All of this stuff mental abuse puts you in the wrong state of mind and isn't conducive to playing your best. You spend the whole gig wondering/worrying about things you shouldn't be instead of focusing on entertaining punters and enjoying your passion. I'm off. Edit: for context and those that don't know me, I've been in all sorts of bands for 40 years.
  10. That red at either end, they look like Spirocore Mittel to me. That's what mine is wearing here.
  11. Well it didn’t happen overnight! I got interested in electronics when I spotted Hobby Electronics magazine in the newsagent that I did a paper round for, built my first overdrive pedal in my gap year, and have enjoyed building and modding music-related stuff ever since. I did my first valve amp build from a kit in maybe 2017 and caught the bug.
  12. This makes me wish I hadn't stopped collecting issues of Practical Wireless back in the day. When puberty struck I became interested more in 'bikes, romance and Rock & Roll - in that precise order. You've made an excellent thread made better by having all those images in your last post but one. With the commentary already covered in earlier posts your photos speak for themselves. I like that you are tempted to gig it already, yet cautious enough to break it in during rehearsals. May it serve you well brother.

  14. Yes @Al Krow a couple of bass pros I follow use synth bass and it would be handy for ultra-funky lines (eg Stevie Wonder, Soulive) for the attack and very short notes. I'm right handed and would use my right, so a short KB would be fine and would be fun. As others have mentioned already the extra gear is off-putting and definitely not necessary for the dep gigs I do, which the MXR Bass Synth pedal should be more than enough for. As it is my compact pedal board will need reorganising which I didn't plan on doing, but want to get two signal chains combined (synth & non synth) so will have to get a new board anyway. Need to adapt my playing to get the best out of the pedal, which will be a challenge, but hopefully won't take long.
  15. Yes very possible….closest match that I can see on that table. Thanks
  16. Testing out the new branding iron on the walnut short scale with nitro clearcoat.
  17. My thoughts exactly!
  18. Welcome to Basschat, Matt! Typical shipping costs to Europe from Japan to Europe with EMS should be in the €160 (gig bag) to €200 (hard case) range. Factor in (1) the purchase cost (should be free of local Japanese tax), (2) the shipping cost (see above, based on dimensions and weight), and (3) customs/import/VAT. (This normally runs to around 30% of (1) + (2). if you are offered, or elect for, shipping via UPs, Fedex, DHL etc, then this can be upwards of €300 of declared value. Usually it’s faster than EMS. Good luck…….I hope it goes well for you.
  19. Today
  20. I have a simple dowel jig from Screwfix. Never thought of using it for a cab!
  21. Thankfully, there are several people here who give the impression that they won't touch a bass which weighs more than 8lbs, sadly more often than not for health reasons, so hopefully it will find some favour in these quarters.
  22. For sale is my TC Electronic GMajor-2 multi effects unit in fully working condition and updated to the latest firmware. Pictures show it in its usual rack home (rack not included). Although most of the standard effects are aimed at the guitarist I have found the compressor, gate, flanger, phaser and octaver (up and down) etc. to be very useable for bass. I can either factory reset before shipping or leave the presets I have created intalled. It has built in EQ, noise gate, compressor, reverbs, delays, wahs, octaver, tremolo, phaser, flanger etc each of which can be switched in / out from the front panel as required. I have been using this via my amps effects loop and found the compressor (and all the effects) just add their effect without changing the fundamental sound of the bass. Comes with original box and operating manual. You can use the unit in your DAW as well as with your bass / guitar etc. Patches can be easily selected from the front panel or attach a midi-pedal (I used a MidiMoose). There is also some Vyzor software you can download from the net which allows you to interface your PC with the GMajor-2 to edit and backup your user patches. I have also attached the GMajor-2 and Vyzor manuals below. tc_electronic_g-major_2_manual_english.pdfVyzor_G-Major2_Quick-Start.pdf I estimate UK shipping about £10 to £15.

  23. It's actually quie manageable with the top handle but I think I'm going to have to spring for a decent cover.
