  2. Truthfully Jim.....
  3. This picture makes me happy.
  4. Bought some bridge/pickup covers from Pete. Well packaged and tracking info provided. Items just as described. Thanks Pete!
  5. This was my thought. Rare, expensive and unique to the point of being irreplaceable. If you want a bass that feels, plays and sounds like a Basslab then it has to be a Basslab.
  6. Wow, id love to try an Alma, ive an original Diamond Jnr (not the solid gold version) but the clean blend and attack switch are great additions. How many comps do you have Jim? 🤣
  7. I put the super light 40-125s on it, and combined with the trimmed down nut, it is pretty well spot on now, took it to a practice tonight and it works very well. I think I can not worry about the truss rod after all.
  8. Selling my Yamaha TRB 1005J. My trusty 5 string wheeled out when a shoe that need a 5’r. Neck 35” (amazing low B), 18mm at the bridge. 4.7kg on the bathroom scales. Beautiful top in maple, rosewood fretboard, 24 frets, preamp 3bands. Usual gig related marks & chips etc. Great sounding bass, never let me down. £450 posted in the UK inc a padded gigbag.
  9. What was the thread title previously then, saying as it has caused such commotion?
  10. As a die-hard 5 string player I admit to enjoying seeing 5ers in classified ads that 4 stringers failed to get the hang of only because they sometimes can't get rid of fast enough and will sell below market value. I've nabbed a few along the way like that. One man's poison...
  11. They put pets in the holds of planes, and Alex exports his cabs around the world with no problems. But why are you asking us? Ask the airline, any airline.
  12. 4.8kg on the bathroom scales 👍🏻
  13. This is the new Indonesian Standard with the ceramic pickups, isn’t it?
  14. Square magnets and small domes were characteristic of early Eminence drivers.
  15. I have its little brother the Minnow and love it. This is a superb bit of kit at a very good price. GLWTS.
  16. I don’t know really - haven’t had a chance to try one as yet. I’ve listened to some YT demos and they certainly sound nice enough. Some very interesting innovation too. There’s a new headstock shape (better than the old little square one), and a new “headless” design, which has a headstock, but no tuning keys. Prices don’t seem too bad, but I guess you have to add the import duty on as well.
  17. The twin truss rods were one of the two reasons that put me off rics for years — the other being the bridge. Now that there's an easily adjustable bridge and a two way single truss rod I had no reason not to buy a 2024 4003.
  18. Any Status with clean strings. The 30X preamps were set up with very carefully chosen frequencies so you can play them with full treble and bass without any of the usual hiss or harshness. A Spector with tone pump and EMGs. A Warwick ’Double Buck’ bass. Another astonishingly sizzly bass. A slightly more budget friendly choice: The Cort Artisan Space Bass 4/5. Very clean sound, again with very friendly and clear top end. Also, if you can find one, a HH Fender Dimension Deluxe/Elite. I still miss mine.
  19. Yeah it’s a fair old time, just got to be patient - which is something I’m really not very good at.
  20. Great basses, awful brand name. I hate snakes.
  21. Today
  22. TWO. YEARS. When I ordered my last Sandberg like 12 years ago, the wait time was 6 months. Even back then, I thought it was ridiculous, I get they're popular, but I don't know, hire more people? Expand? But it is now TWO YEARS? Who in their right mind has the patience to wait that long? My interest for it would fizzle out after 6 months of waiting... Like, I've got a Warmoth body on order that should be here in 3 months and I've already lost patience haha...
  23. That's great to know - if the speaker currently in it is original there's nothing to tell me that it's an Eminence. The only distinguishing feature is the square magnet! I think I'll fit it with more modern speakers that can handle a bit more oomph, as dragging a(nother!) 2x15 around isn't going to be worth it unless it'll pump out a decent volume without dying again.
  24. Bazooka - Masayuki Suzuki
  25. These are 30" scale. I have a blueburst version of this — the LaBella flats are a no-brainer
  26. Hi everyone! Selling my Hamstead Subspace. Absolutely incredible drive pedal but I just don’t have a need for it anymore. Virtually brand new and never gigged as only bought recently. Looking for £200 collected from NW London but happy to ship for a bit extra to cover postage! Just let me know where you’re based and I’ll total it up. James
  27. Hi everyone! Selling my Trickfish Trilobite preamp! Absolutely awesome piece of kit and super versatile with its dual channel setup. Been experimenting with different preamps and have just decided to settle on a different one so this is no longer needed. Still in excellent condition so asking for £450 collected from NW London (Pinner). Happy to deliver for extra cost. DM me if you’re interested! James
