  2. I think that if tuners have rounded ends to the notches, then they are modern ones, no matter how 'aged' they look.
  3. I’m not from Cornwall. Sorry. however I’ve only been an Emmet once I recommend a tc electronic bh250. You can tweak it with your phone and it has a silent always-on tuner. It’s tiny and super loud
  4. I wish I hadn't seen that 🫣😅 They also have a BB2025
  5. Again no experience with FBTs, sorry, but I can vouch Phil's comment that the RCF 912As are good, and maybe worth adding to your shortlist if they are comparably priced? I was really happy with the sound we were getting at our last couple of pub gigs, fulsome low end without needing a sub. (Very short clip here to give you an idea of how they were sounding on Saturday night, recorded on our singer's phone).
  6. Got back off holiday to find my Squier Sonic Bronco waiting for me. Haven't had a chance to plug it in yet, what with it being late and the neighbours likely in bed, but had a quick noodle unplugged and am very happy with it for the cash. A couple of sprouty frets, but nothing a sanding block and 5 minutes of my day can't fix. Looking forward to giving it an out-loud go tomorrow.
  7. BassBros have one in now! But agreed, BB2025 never seem to come up either.
  8. I will hard pass on any strings that are priced that high, I don't use flats anymore but when I did I wouldn't have paid that.
  9. Made in Japan, well used with plenty of scratches (see photos). Plays and records really well. No whammy bar. I’ve used it for home recording and it sounds fine, good variety of sounds. Only my playing lets it down.

  10. Suburbia - The Petshop Boys
  11. No direct experience with this model but I quite like what FBT are offering. It’s nice to get a wooden cab at this price. If you are looking at this the RCF 912 is around the same price and has a similar spec. Definitely worth a look as well. Generally speaking I’d say RCF are the ones to beat at the moment, both make fantastic speakers. I think @skidder652003 was using FBT’s when I saw his band in Sidmouth a few years back but that may be a false memory.
  12. Neighbours - Barry Crocker
  13. Living Next Door To Alice - Smokie
  14. I've alway been fond of this photo - an antidote to the received wisom: Mind you, Paul could have sent the entire Internet into meltdown if he'd played that Jazz using a capo ...
  15. Welcome. Another from Cornwall here. Too old for gigging these days but still have a few basses to keep me amused.
  16. Understood, though the assumption that Behringer and TC are using similar power modules (actually, the power amp and power supply are an integral part of the main board) isn't accurate. The power supplies/power amps are very different, though they both share a similar ambiguity (creativity) with regards to the way they rate their output power. I was referring specifically to those who quote power off of a power module data sheet, without understanding the depths of what they are looking at. There is a ton of critical data between the lines of the data sheet, in fact that's what my US patent is based on with regards to some specific technology applications with a couple of lines of older ICEPower parts. We received this patent while working with directly the ICEPower engineering team on some of these off-sheet attributes, and these basic concepts got incorporated into the newer series power modules. This is what allowed us (Genz Benz) to do what everybody said could not be done, and we did it with higher reliability than those who used the modules within the limitations of the data sheets too. All Shuttle, ShuttleMax and Streamliner amps use various portions of that patented technology, them the patent was acquired by Fender and was theirs to use as well.
  17. I recently brought a trb5 mk1 off the very nice joe geezer on here( though he was selling it on eBay. The thing is absolutely amazing for the money I paid, and all I can say is the legendary reputation is totally justified. It’s just under 34”scale and the B string note definition has blown me away.😊.very lightweight aswell x
  18. I would have been impressed by Prime randomly playing me matching mole, except I wanted to hear the CCR track again...

  20. Hi!!! 19mm Spacing!!!!
  21. I still want to add some stickers, but I don’t really think that that counts as modding.
  22. Today
  23. Hagstrom H8 and Aria Pro II Wildcat - I've been looking for both for ages!
  24. I try and generally keep the A longer to try and get more wraps on the tuner post and a better break angle over the nut. Otherwise you get parasitic buzzing from the length of string behind the nut! I prefer vintage-style tuners with straight-sided posts to modern types with tapering or pinched in posts. Fender Deluxe tuners seem to try and steer the string into a location that doesn't provide much break angle over the nut.
  25. I think we’ve deduced it happened but isn’t a sign of originality that can be used to accurately date a Fender bass. An interesting find nevertheless.
