  2. Roger very kindly saved me a load of money by selling me a single double bass string so I didn't need a whole new set - an absolute pleasure to deal with. Thanks @bassace!
  3. I should add that it’s £50 including postage so it’s around a £15 saving overall from Amazon or Thomann

  5. That's about the best bargain I've seen on here for a wee while. GLWTS
  6. Figured out how to use static IRs with the Opus. So cool. Helps with the option paralysis of the DynIRs Been using the opus a lot lately for practicing. It takes pedals very well where the katana go doesnt.
  7. 1974 Jazz Bass body that used to be for a micro tilt 3 bolt plate, but converted to 4 bolt some time in it's history. It has the original finish on the front and sides that you can see has seen lots of use (abuse?). The paint is checked in a wonderfully old school way that only a bass that's over 40 years old can show. The back has a newer spray of off white nitro. Being Ash and 70's it is heavy. But that makes for a great sounding bass in my opinion. When I had this built up, it was a tone monster. £175 shipped UK

    Siren. C4?

I used to use the jamman for this sort of thing
  9. You're right Dave. From my experience (unless you're a big name act with 40/50 years of material to work with and millions of adoring fans) audiences do have a limited attention span and it's best for everyone to acknowledge this when planning setlists. I think for a covers / tribute band 2x60 min sets are more than adequate. I honestly don't see the point in adding songs to the sets and making them so much longer, other than satisfying some the ego of some band members who don't know when enough is enough! Also bear in mind that venues like plenty of time to sell more drinks which is probably when the band is having a break / interval. Older audiences like to stretch their legs / go to the loo / grab another beer etc without feeling they're being a nuisance or missing out on some of the band's set. Personally I've always preferred one longer set from a playing point of view - easier to maintain the audience's attention and choose the songs to make the whole thing more cohesive. When my old band played some festivals we found the one set thing a revelation after being used to doing 2x60 minute sets in theatres. ( Unfortunately if we tried to opt for one set, with no support act, in theatres then we would be charged more by the venue to offset their loss on bar takings. )
  10. How good do you think it would be if it was metal printed? Just wondering as a friend of mine does (I think) have access to a 3D metal printer...
  11. Cheers! It is a great synth and a super entry point into the endless money pit of synthesizers!! haha!
  12. The Intense Humming Of Evil - Manic Street Preachers
  13. Finished the fractal vice. I built whilst doing test prints for how to get a good finish on the headless bass. The vice is OK, I wouldn't describe it as a vice, more a holder. Its good enough for holding things for soldering or painting, but its nowhere near strong enough for holding anything that has a load on it. You could use it for small things in a pillar drill but anything bigger than a 3mm hold might put too much load on it. I note that some toerags have this advertised this on Etsy for £150. I'll happily sell you this for £50 It does work, its a novelty and if I don't like it, I can reclaim all the bolts and lead screw and use them elsewhere.
  14. On paper at least the Ampero II Stomp is superior, and cheaper, to the Helix HX Stomp. So is the Boss GT-1000CORE, well superior, on paper at least, but it is also more expensive than both. Where the HX Stomp is superior to both the Boss and HoTone is that Line6, as far as I gathered at least, is a bit more generous when it comes to updates of the firmware with new effects and functions included (I might have gotten that wrong though). Regardless though all 3 I would say would be a substantial upgrade to your current Zoom units, especially when it comes to amp emulations and cab sims (as well as you would gain the ability to run parallel effect chains (and in this aspect the Boss is objectively much more flexible and vastly superior to both the HX and Ampero Stomp)).
  15. I struggled for a while after having 6 months of extensive house remodelling, where the studio was just a store room, after that I didn't even go in there for the rest of the year. Then my guitarist turned up a load of old ideas we'd written for the last album, and i found I could get into the studio every day to play and work on things. You just need a catalyst sometimes, I think. Or some willpower... Don't play video games.

  17. Hello I'm thinking about the ampero stomp just from the reviews. I have the zoom b3n and the b2 four. But I was kinda wanting the ampero for the ease of using the display, the editing on the laptop/tablet and phone(I have a windows laptop, and Android phone and a apple tablet to use for monitoring at shows). Sooo if I can find one at a decent price I might get it and play around with it. I have found mor info with the ampero and the helix but I don't think I want the helix. Being somewhat new to the multi effects thing I want to get a great amp less sound for fly shows. I have a ROLLS unit and use IEM's for monitoring. I want to feel comfortable with my sound with the IEM's and for FOH
  18. Yeah, i would like a morningstar, but cant cant justify it with my setup. I do has a dmc.micro for midi on my smaller board and i am amazed by hiw much thiis little box can do. Im using all the ports on it simultaneously to control multiple pedals and an expression pedal.
