  1. Past hour
  2. I had no idea a factory fretless version even existed! I am having GAS pangs over this, but sadly the one fretless I already own barely gets played. GLWTS!
  3. Change the click bait thread title.
  4. If only I lived in South Shields or within a few hundred miles. Great cabs!
  5. Lots of frets though It's a beauty. GLWTS
  6. So I finally finished my initial attempt at relic'ing and the creation of a 70s inspired p bass with TV logo. It's not a heavy relic as i didn't have the confidence to go all out, but I really like the vintage amber nitro on the neck and headstock... I'm hoping it will wear pretty quick and leave a dirty bare wood underneath... something I may help along it's way with a bit more research... So it started out as a standard squire VM p bass... now it certainly has a well worn in vibe to it... it certainly won't fool anyone but I like it! In time, I think I will look for some aged tuners and bridge as well... Or nickel hardware I can age with some Iron Chloride!
  7. Can The Cannon - Suzi Quatro
  8. I had a Harke HA4000 head with 210 & 115 XL cabs, was a truly awesome sounding set-up, but as the amp was flight-cased (with rack tuner & wireless kit) it was all a bit too much for me so moved it on. The HA4000 was amazing, had parametric mids so could really shape the sound nicely.
  9. For me, any active 5 string bass with the treble turned up and new strings. The bongo is pretty good, but they all are really until the strings go dull
  10. ‘Boom, boom!’ Sack the room! DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh prince
  11. Price includes uk mainland postage. A great little bass in good condition other than a dint in the headstock. 2.8kgs. All working perfectly. Will come with rounds - can include a set of labella dano flats for an additional £25. Colour is ‘copperburst’. No trades thanks.

  12. Agree, we (Knock Off) have a gig in a couple of weeks time and the allocated time in the dressing room expires at 6:45, leaving us nowhere to put our gear, so for me that`s when I`m going home.
  13. Diamond always had “Mid EQ” the SGFX reissue just added another threshold point 250 -500 - 900 i prefer the reissue over the original BCP-1
  14. We do Sun Hits the Sky. Great bassline to play.
  15. A ludicrously good bass for the money. Someone will be very happy with this. GLWTS.
  16. Here is a Line 6 M13 Stompbox Modeller pedal with power supply. This pedal has a very large library of effects and parameters, a looper, tuner etc etc I'm surprised it doesn't do the washing up. Too many things to list but a quick link to the manual(s) is here - https://line6.com/support/manuals/m13/ Also comes with a slightly tatty but perfectly usable Stagg pedalboard case. Collection preferred from near Axminster, although I do travel around the UK a lot so could easily bring it along to a gig for a meet up

  17. In a bizarre twist of internet fate, I saw Supergrass this weekend, exactly 15 years to the month after they reformed! What a prediction! Superb band, Mick Quinn is one of my favourites.
  18. Joker And The Thief - Wolfmother
  19. ‘What’s yours?’ Is mine. Raconteurs
  20. Hey all, My sincere apologies for the stupid title, it's difficult to describe hahaha!! I'm curious to know what is the brightest bass you've owned/played with the most sizzle on the top end? While still retaining good low end. Ideally a 5 string but not essential. I'm basically in the market for a new 5er with about £1k-1.5 budget. Thanks as always!! Aj
  21. I know, sometimes humour is hard to get across in text. What you didn't get was the hands on hips and the put on, faux outrage tone of voice.
  22. I joined in June 2007, but I was a user of Bassworld beforehand. Looking on way back machine, I remember that Warwick with the curly bubinga top that was used the add flair to the pages.
  23. Sometimes you just have to leave before the end of the gig. I think there's a polite way to do it. Say bye to the band(s) before they go on if possible. Should be common courtesy really.
  24. Huh? There are younger people here?
  25. Other pedals I really like but are interchangeable on my board depending on my whim! Markbass Compressor£120 Another overlooked unit, possibly due to the size, but it adds a tube stage to any source - you can dial down the compression to have a killer real tube front end or actually add in some wonderful tube character and comp while never stepping all over your feel and dynamics. MojoMojo £35 Still has protective plastic on it. Nice voicing for lower gain and useful eq control voiced in a sweet spot for bass. Darkglass element £100 I keep this in my gig bag as a back up Di. Lots of options and being switchless your goofy singer and guitarist can’t adjust the knobs with their wayward cables and on stage wanderings! HyperLuminal £140 Might need to check the price but another very versatile comp. You have three very nicely voice comps which can be set to work for different basses. I liked to switch to the Sym setting for slower darker country etc but love the bus setting for punchy always on bass. Postage included uk only.
