  1. Past hour
  2. Played to a packed out crowd at Didmarton Bluegrass festival. Lovely gig and people.
  3. These days, it seems quite a popular deed, so here is mine. Music Man Stingray EX, ebony fingerboard, originally 3EQ preamp. The latter is now replaced with a 2EQ M05400 (once again, thank you very much @Hellzero). The treble pot is C500k. Strung with Ernie Ball Extra Slinky 40-95.

  4. I bought a used Bass Buggy and it’s absolutely brilliant. I played at a festival today and it made it so simple to transport the bass. Why, oh why, didn’t I but one earlier? Just wanted to express that really.
  5. That's the long term plan, but for her buying things is apparently a very intensive process, fraught with second guessing and indecision. Possibilities have to researched, options examined, costs scrutinized. I, on the other hand, tend to go "ooh shiny" and get my card out.
  6. Selling my 'as new' Guitar Sound Systems Sumo 1000W power amp. Note that this is the 1,000 Watt version - the big brother of the popular 'Baby Sumo'. This is a highly rated hi-fi power amp for bass or guitar, built by a boutique company in France and very sought after, but I am sure you already know that if you are reading this. Great to use with a pre-amp (or pre-amp pedal). I bought this new in March 2024, as an extra option to use at gigs in bigger venues. However, only used it about two times, as it turns out that for the gigs I am playing my 600W Eden amplifier is perfectly capable. (What was I thinking!). As I like to keep my gear as lean as possible, I am letting go of this little treasure. Comes with its own hard carrier case. Note that the manufacturer website new price is €550, however you need to add shipping costs (brings the total to £500) PLUS import taxes (£112) to bring it in the UK. That all adds up to £612 to buy it new. Dimensions of amp: 5.2 x 3.2 x 10 inches / 13 x 8 x 26 centimeters (Width x Height x Depth). Weighs 4.4 lbs/ 2kg. Specs: Power: 1000 Watts over 4 Ohms; 500 Watt over 8 Ohm; 250 Watt over 16 Ohm. THD (at full power): < 0,1 % Input impedance: 10 K Ohm Power voltage: 100-240 Volt ac 50/60Hz Frequency response (-1dB): 20-20000 Hz I can ship at buyer's costs (no carrier pickups, I do the mail out), but also fine with pick up or meet. My location is mid-Wales.
  7. When k saw the listing I thought you would…
  8. Agree. The back of the headstock looks very different too. Never seen something like that. Check it out:
  9. Same pick up as in the equally weird Fender Abuelo ?
  10. Brilliant! Nice job. Well done.
  11. Nice, where is the pickguard from?
  12. That pink one is lovely. I'd love a 4 with non-X JJ pickups. You know, just to have something different 😉
  13. I’m sure you’ll be more than happy with it Trevor, good score methinks
  14. That's pretty cool! However, the basses were never called RG but RD (Roadbass series). This one looks based on the RD727. I've seen guitar versions in this finish before (the RG760 Feline and the even more rare US Custom Shop Golden Feline) but never the bass! Pretty cool
  15. Said @Hellzero and took mystery to bed.
  16. Do you know the weight please? Also is this the later 3005E?
  17. And just to add to the confusion, the post you're referring to was moved to the Amps & Cabs sub-forum so it's not in here.
  18. Nice one. Your Mk1 WAL should be worth a pretty penny these days too. Wish i had kept mine from early 80's. Dave
  19. Just bought a pedal from Nick. Top guy to deal with, super happy. Many thanks Ian
  20. Sack barrow and/or castors. Never had a problem.
  21. @Lozz196 I would like to make it clear that I entirely hold you to blame with all this enthusing about how great your SL is to play, and how good it sounds… so with the years advancing and all my long term basses being heavy (if wonderful) lumps I’ve been eyeing up Sandberg SLs given how much I love my new VM4. I think your posts were what finally pushed me over the edge. So there was a rather nice TT SL in Blackburst on the Musicstore (AKA DV247 or Digital Village if you’re old) and I’ve pulled the trigger on it. Should be here around April next year or hopefully a bit sooner. I had been looking at the red sunburst one on Thomann, which is very pretty, but being a VM4 that seemed a bit redundant. The bass should look a bit like the following but with ordinary pickups rather than Delanos. Can’t wait… Of course this means I ought to get rid of one of my other boat anchor basses. I suspect the time may be right to realise the capital in my Mk1 Wal Custom since I’ve just not been using it in the last year or so. Gulp. Still, that will pay for the Sandberg and also bolster the retirement fund!
  22. sure and do you want fries with that?
  23. I'll take three please, and can you gift-wrap two of them for me?
  24. Neck has been on and off a couple of times; it needed a piece of sandpaper to shim it. There was actually zero tension on the truss rod (sorted), so that was throwing things out.
