  3. Thanks for this. Yes, I am very surprised it's still here at this price...
  4. A couple of people have asked about trades, but honestly I don’t think there’s anything I want or need.
  5. Hey everyone, My 17 year old daughter has decided that she wants to learn to play bass. This obviously excites me as my son already plays Jazz piano and so I am very happy she has chosen bass. She does however have short arms as we've discovered from 5 years of karting and needing a variety of seat inserts. So a short scale is on the cards. Before justifying my man maths and going head first into either a Japanese Fender Mustang or a JMJ Mustang, I'm considering a starter bass for her. My choices are, Squier Bronco Harley Benton Mustang Copy Squier Classic Vibe Mustang Each one has differing price ranges so just asking for thoughts and opinions and any clear winners. Thanks in advance.
  6. my first bass back in the day ..
  7. Does anyone have any experience with swapping the preamp in a VM5? I bloody love the bass, it plays like a dream but the tone isn't as 'alive' as my Fender jazz 5. It feels a little sterile to me. I'm thinking of popping an East pre in there and was wondering if anyone else has done the same. YouTube has an example done on a TT but no VM. Cheers!
  8. I agree - they're sort of unique in what they do.
  9. I have no doubt your right. As i said in the description before my time someone swapped the pickups.
  10. Today
  11. OMG, this is crazy. As i said recently, ive used my singer’s IE100 pro’s for a bit. I really like them. I was just putting them way and realised i wasnt sure which is which, they both look similar. My IE400’s have more worn tips from using them more, her’s tips are newer that i put on a while ago. I noticed one has a more transparent case as well. Looking closely at ‘mine’, using a magnifying app on my phone, i was shocked to see IE100 on them. So it seems ive been using IE100’s for months, well over a year at least, and she has had my IE400’s 😂. Now i know why i liked her’s so much. Bloody hell 🙄
  12. Wait what..... you read the manual? Hahaha. Kudos to you sir!
  13. Your concern is justified @al krow, the Meatball is the single best filter I've used in over 30 years of playing.
  14. My concern is that this could very possibly be the best filter out there and put even the 3 Leaf stuff in the shade?! May need to dip a toe in with the Behringer clone first?
  15. UPDATE.... I've been trying to play those runs in Immigrant Song with a pick for years. Pretty much every day I've done Ionian on A, Ionian on B and Myxalydian on C and today I got soooo close to being able to play them at full speed along with JPJ! Gaaaah! I'm within touching distance! Seriously though, it's been years getting to this point and I know if I keep plugging at it I'll get there.
  16. Thanks Phil! Delighted you are still loving it! You’ll be pleased to hear that your book ReCovers is on my list sent to Santa!
  17. Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water…
  18. Seems fairly self-explanatory that they’ve had to announce early due to the Behringer copy. I’ll be happy to support the original maker. (Some Behringer copies are really good (Model D for example) whereas some are really not up to the rigours of heavy use.)

  21. Most of the global parameters found in the Global Menu are mostly not likely to become per-program, i.e. stuff like MIDI channels, tune base, etc. I have argued on several occasions that it could be useful to have the note-on/off levels be per-program but I’ve always been overruled. I especially find that setting a really low note-on level is great for envelope filter patches where I want maximum sensitivity. Again, if you email them and ask, it may add weight.
  22. Royal Blues, @ Off the Cuff, Herne Hill, that London. Support band slot to The Road, so not the usual crowd for our brand of blues based Americana. Only 2 backing vocalists this time, and stunning work by the ladies in rejigging the 3 part harmonies. @Al Krow of this parish was in attendance (turns out we share a singer) so I was hyper aware that any bass fluffs would be immediately noticeable to at least one person in the audience 😆. The venue is in the arches of railway bridge, and it was quite noticeable when trains were going over, but fortunately not when we were playing. Fun gig, I think we played well. Ibanez UB804 -> Getaria wireless -> Digitech BP355 -> FOH / Warwick Pro Fet 3, Calsborough 4x10. Some clips of the gig on The Facebook story thing, listen with headphones or decent speakers: https://www.facebook.com/stories/122094436502361314/UzpfSVNDOjY0ODE5OTkwODI4MjQ4Nw==/?view_single=1&mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v Footwear: maroon creepers.
