Fender Jazz Ultra II (Noble Blu) - FINAL PRICE DROP £ 1650

Hi all, Haven’t played this in a long time and bills/back to school needs-must. Beautiful Taylor acoustic from 2008 (the 5th one built on 7th July according to the serial number). Excellent condition, a couple of very minor ‘impacts’ which I’ve tried to photograph, but nothing to write home about. The Taylor hard case is in equally good condition with all clasps working perfectly. I don’t have any boxes/packaging to post this, so collection/meet-up preferred. Any other questions, just ask 🙂 Si

I don't know about the NW necks, but If you're not in a hurry to buy and want a top quality neck, check the prices of the Fender necks on Amazon as they tend to go up & down. A couple of months ago I managed to snag a fantastic Fender Precision to Jazz conversion neck (i.e. a jazz neck with a precision decal) for £211. The fretwork was perfect without needing any levelling etc, the pre-drilled holes meant that it was quick & easy to fit, and it has a thin finish (satin on the back, gloss on the front of the headstock) which makes it feel like a played-in neck. It came with a nut fitted which just had pilot slots cut, so it needed slotting & shaping which I had done at the Gallery.

The promo material for the gig put me off Steve, hence my quoting the Wales comment 🤔

Every time I see Ian playing I go straight to the Mayo Clinic website and start planning a hand or talent transplant!!! 👍🤔🤣 As with all Ian’s videos incredibly interesting, engaging and insightful. Those bass lines don’t leave any places to hide and just show what a talented and skilled player he is!

Great content? It would indeed be great to be content, but the Gear Abstinence thread suggests that it is a rare attribute. Nevertheless, we strive to be content...

I have watched this twice now and although it is biased towards guitars, the fundamentals work for bass too. https://youtu.be/wcBEOcPtlYk?si=otak2Z475-79ypb- Jim Lill is a professional guitarist based in Nashville and although no electronic engineer he does use a vigorous way of testing things. His other videos on cabs and mis are also worth watching. Watch the whole video and post your comments on it below. Please keep an open mind.

I've got a Stingray Special four string and it's by far the best Stingray I've had the good fortune to have known. The Specials have their own flavour of Stingray tone and I really like it. The new neodymium pickups and redesigned preamp are incredibly punchy. The whole package is well thought-out and ergonomic. Nicely built, too. Enjoy your new bass.👍🙂

Mottlefeeder started following Amp buzzing / shielding question
-
Lack of shielding is a possibility, but also poor earthing practice. Wire has a small but significant resistance, and if you daisy-chain the earth connection from the input socket through the amp to the power supply, those small resistances can cause problems. Better practice is to pick one earth point, eg the power input socket, and run a separate wire from the amp, the input socket and the output socket to that point. It's known as star point earthing. I just wanted to provide some feedback on @Manton Customs and Robin's work in general. In short, it's absolutely amazing. I had a body lying around at home that came off a bass I bought just because I wanted the neck off it. It had some old EMGs in it with a Bartolini preamp, but I've always wanted a Jazz bass style bass with a couple of 60's style, vintage style Thunderbird pickups in it. The reality is, it should have been just a cheap, buy a neck, put it on, pay someone to route out the pickups and away you go, but it ended up being one of my favorite basses to play now. The whole order process from start to finish was fantastic, there was an order form, things were made clear, I chose all my options. Nothing was too hard for Robin. 34” Scale, 20 Frets Radius 12” Birdseye Maple, Ebony Fretboard Nut Width: 38mm Binding: Vintage White The neck has the most amazing, in between Jazz/P-Bass feel, it's SILKY smooth, the action is low, and it is just effortless to play. The fretwork is some of the best fretwork, I have ever seen on a bass, perfectly polished and finished. I supplied the pickups, Thunderbird Bass | Mojo Pickups - https://www.mojopickups.co.uk/product/thunderbird/ These also fantastic, not cheap though. If you are looking for any custom work done, I would highly recommend Robin, he's a fantastic guy and well worth the drive from London. BEFORE - AFTER -

Ok this was for a project but I no longer need it. This is a brand new Allparts Jazz neck, never installed of used. Since purchasing I have added a Fender Logo supplied by Rothko & Frost and a bone nut. The frets have been dressed, fretboard oiled and it's in beautiful condition. David Wilson then completely finished the neck in lacquer with a lovely tint on the face, his work is outstanding. In total this neck owes me about £600 ish so offering it out at £500 including UK delivery.

TecAmp M212-4 cab with Roqsolid cover. £340 - 4 ohm, 600 watt (RMS) - 2x 12" drivers & 1" NTWN horn Tweeter switching system (6-position system that changes the crossover frequency to voice the cabinet clean/modern or vintage) - Freq. Response: 36-19.000 Hz - Sensitivity: 101 dB - Weight: approx 21kg (48lb) - Dimensions (W x H x D): 54 x 75 x 41 cm (21” x 29,5” x 16”) - Connections: Two Speakon jacks - Fitted Roqsolid cover (worth £100) Good condition and perfect working order, the Roqsolid cover has some scuffs (but that's its job!) and some small cosmetic marks on the cab. This can go very loud & low & clear. It can sound clear/transparent, or can change the tweeter feequency for a more vintage tone. It is a high quality bit of kit in a reasonably lightweight and compact package. Pickup in Chichester, or can meet half way within a reasonable distance. Sending via courier is a possibility - but size/weight might make it costly.

I have the 10s. They're excellent for the price.

Looks good and you don’t have to shield it as it is already conductive. Just need a couple of bits of conductive tape from the graphite paint in the control cavity to a screw hole on either side and you should have really good shielding. 👍
