  2. PA subs go as much as an octave lower than bass cabs, while PA mains don't have the rising midrange typical of bass cabs. Try high passing the desk bass channel at 60 to 80Hz, if it has that capability, or cutting back on the bass EQ if it doesn't, while boosting the mids in the 2 to 2.5kHz range.
  3. Wow, have i really had my ‘76 this long? To think how many instruments couriers have lost and broken in that time, it’s truly scary!
  4. Oh thank god the temptation is removed.
  5. As per the title, I used to be able to upload any photo and multiple photos in posts but recently I am getting file exceeds xxxx kb error messages when I never did before. Has the site changed its policy in regards file uploads?
  6. This was on my board for a few years, never let me down but just fancied a change so I’ve got a boss chorus on the board now. The toneprint options make it a pretty versatile pedal, found myself mostly using the Duff McKagan toneprint. No original box for this unfortunately but will be packaged securely. Price includes postage in the UK, cheers
  7. Yup 😁
  8. Ooh, I'll happily take that comparison - thank you most kindly!
  9. Here you go. https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/517597-feeler-me-90b-boxed-with-bluetooth-adapter/
  10. Agreed. If you look at high end violins, on which the flamed maple arched backs are hand carved and (almost invariably) book-matched, you'll see exactly the same
  11. Ace with spades. Motorhead
  12. I would recommend this unit too. I have one and it's very easy to use, works like a selection of stomp boxes if you leave it in manual mode, no need to hook it up to a computer to unleash its potential. There's one for sale on here right now for a good price too.
  13. Well enjoy the Musk Reform alliance. The right wing have the backing and the numbers. I just hope that people don’t fall for it and can put their differences aside. I don’t believe any billionaires or tech giants have my interest at heart. Back in the day they just asset stripped companies. They now have their sights set on entire countries and are using every trick in the book to achieve their goals (including divide and conquer). Personally I am making plans to vacate if it happens. Anyhow it’s going off track so I will bow out
  14. Think Boss do a cover less the foot switch portion. Joyo Ironman with the knob flap are cool and dinky...
  15. Just picked this up, thanks I havent really pushed it to be honest but will give that a try
  16. That really is very nice! Enjoy retirement too.
  17. Good question... Of course we looked at our legacy models, the first one was the Walkabout and the weight was one of the biggest complaints (and it wasn't a very heavy amp compared with say the Carbines). Moving up to the heavier amps, size and weight very much factored into the decision because our players placed this very high on the "wanted list". Back in the day, I did design a number of substantially sized, heavy amps like the GBE-750 and 1200, but these found their way mostly to those who were either touring with big rigs or didn't need to worry about transportation. The older models sales had fallen to almost nothing even before we released the first Subway model, was better for what our evolving player base wanted and had asked for. Listening to a large number of players provided a huge level of clarity here.
  18. Impending retirement means that I need to de-clutter, beginning with some of my beloved basses. A Beautiful bass bought from here in 24, with a great sound, which I am just not using much. It is the real deal with gorgeous looks and construction in my honest opinion. Someone out there will love it. It is also loud enough to practice with without an amp IMHO! Happy to post as it comes with a generic hard case that fits archtop basses "The Gretsch G5442BDC Electromatic Hollow Body Short Scale bass guitar has a comfortably short scale at 30.25", and is armed with two powerful "Black Top" Filter'Tron™ bass pickups, giving it an electrifying deep-end voice and identity. The double-cutaway hollow and bound body offers full bass tone and balance, and is finished in Transparent Red." Note: I have been asked about neck dive, just in case you are worried about that this is my answer. "I can't say that it has bothered me,. Being an true hollow body/archtop It is very light and hangs horizontally, but it feels normal to rest my right arm on the body, which pushes the neck upwards to a comfortable, natural playing position. It also feels good sitting down. I imagine that the longer scale Gretsch hollows may have serious neck dive". G5442BDC Spec sheet.pdf

  19. Today
  20. Fantastic superlight basses, mine weighs just 6.7lbs and is joyous for those with glass backs like me. GLWTS.
  21. Eh, not sure I'm getting whatever it is you're trying to say here. So, by exercising my choice to decline a gig offer that I just wouldn't feel enthusiastic about, I would be participating in the death of free speech? Last time I looked, freedom of association was considered an important part of freedom of expression.
  22. Selling this set of spirocore mediums as I recently changed to a light set. I bought them new and they’ve been on/off once, as you can see all the windings still are in good condition and there is plenty of life left in them. I will post them with the original box as well. Give me a shout if you’re interested, I’m open to offers. Cheers!
  23. Waits meets Springsteen, nice work 👌
  24. We have a great PA (rcf 932a x2 and rcf 905 sub x2) and a capable mixer (XR18) and yet im never happy with the bass sound through PA. I have a Darkglass Anagram which sounds amazing for recording direct into a PC and awesome on the multi track live recording we take direct from the desk at gigs. It also sounds perfect in my iem mix. My amp is a Darkglasd M900 and my cab is a greenboy F112. That setup sounds killer too. Why is it then that the bass sound coming out of the PA just always seems to sound a bit woolly and soft and lacking those lovely clean piano type lows. Even if I turn all processing off on the desk it seems to sound like it lacks the clean weight of sound and crisp top end. Do I just need to be braver with the eq or is it something in the PA speakers that hates me?
  25. Which reminds me of another 80's tune that I absolute love playing - Every Little Thing She Does is Magic. I know, I'm easily pleased 🤷‍♂️
