Couldn't you just put the chrome (or whatever) control plate on and leave the reast of the scratchplate off, making the most of the fact that the pickup lead channels are drilled and not routed?
-
-
I wouldn't be without mine. And that's a Broadneck 5 bolt-on with 20mm bridge string spacing. I don't see the ergonomics as drawbacks,just different.

That’s the cheap one I use and it’s been fine. What are the MIDI settings you’re using? Do you have any other MIDI-usb devices connnected? Windows only allows one active at a time. If you have something else open, the editor won’t connect.

Free guitar amp plugin from UA based on a Fender until the 31st. Not had a play with it yet, but I'm sure it's most likely not bad. https://www.uaudio.com/products/showtime-64-tube-amp?utm_source=general&utm_medium=pr&utm_campaign=uadshowtime

@j4y Bought one of my beloved ACGs from me today, he came down to Wickford to meet and do the deal. A top guy to deal with! No issues at all, another great credit to Basschat! I will get it back at some point though! 😆
-
This very cheap one, doesn't seem to need additional drivers

If you go with the girl singer given you have a sax player you simply have to do Will You by Hazel O’Connor.
-
What interface are you using. If it requires a driver, are you using the latest one from the manufacturer?
-
Yeah, not quite sure why I wrote that. I should check it before clicking post. 🥴

I've got a 4HH Bongo and it's a beast of a bass. It's got a unique character that I love, and a lot of folks who criticise the looks have never seen on in the flesh. I think it's a beautiful design, and I have done since the first time I saw one at NAAM. I like basses that sound obtrusive, and the Bongo certainly fulfils that brief. It's such a great sound, especially for modern music that's sonically very dense because it cuts through so well. The dual frequency mid controls are really useful in that respect. It's also got massive bottom end that can compete with guitars, synths and electronic drums. I think the problem for EBMM with the Bongo has been that it has an unapologetically modern sound and design in an era that is preoccupied with retro and vintage-inspired gear. If that bass had come out in the mid-1980's when modernity was all the rage then they would have sold loads of them. It's a design that's ahead of its time but behind the trend, if that makes sense.

Nice job. "Scratch guard", eh? That's fence-sitting if there ever was.

devil rides out started following Ibanez SR755 NFT, 5 string

I am reluctantly selling my beautiful Ibanez SR755-NTF to fund a house move. It's a wonderful instrument, fantastic condition, with a bubinga top, maple body bolted to a jatoba and bubinga neck with a rosewood fingerboard. Abalone is inlaid in the fretboard. It's a really gorgeous bass. The model was discontinued after 2017. Components include a pair Nordstrand pickups with a P-style split-coil at the neck and a J-style single-coil at the bridge, an Accu-cast B305 solid bridge with 16.5mm string spacing, an EQB-IIIS 3-band EQ with bypass, and Ibanez die-cast tuning machines. The controls are Volume, balance, treble boost/cut, bass boost/cut, mid boost/cut, EQ bypass toggle and the pickup switch is active/passive. String spacing is 16.5MM, it has 24 frets and 34 inch scale. It’s a really light bass and really effortless to handle. The bass has been used for gigs but I’ve really looked after it so it's in fantastic condition. I really love this instrument, a joy to play, but I've hardly played recently so I can’t justify keeping. I haven’t seen many for sale over the last wee while. Fitted with D'Addario CB040 Chromes XL Flatwounds. Comes with a hard case. Willing to post within the UK at the buyers expense. Let me know if you would like to see any more pictures or videos at all. Edited to add - open to sensible offers of course!

F/S Limelight '64 Jazz Bass - Olympic White with hardcase - *SOLD*

I've wondered that too. It's not because it rectifies any of the problems with the neck-thru design because both versions are very uncomfortable to play if you're used to a more conventionally-proportioned bass. To play a Thumb you've got to love them, because there are so many drawbacks regarding the ergonomics. Still a great sound, though.

I'll listen on Youtube as Amazon are looking for £109 for the CD. Dave

Very solidly built, with two butterfly catches to hold each end piece in place and moulded, recessed handles There is a shallow version, but this is the deeper one with 46cm between the front and back rack strips (just over 50cm front rack strip to back of case) Overall external size is 55cm wide x 23cm high x 61cm deep Rack screws included Pickup from Uxbridge area, or I'll courier 48hr for £13

Hope you don't mind me piggybacking your thread Gunsfreddy. If I have a passive p bass, but run through a Cali 76 18v comp pedal, should I look for a passive rather than active DI box? Thanks
