Congrats on your new bass, I missed out on a red one of these a while back, the build quality looks really good, the neck wear isn’t for me but that’s just personal taste, nice one

The Behringer Micromon MA400 is what you want. You can also feed in a monitor input so she can hear everything else and/or practice to backing tracks at home. Merry Christmas

Amazing thanks! Looking forward to having a listen, as I'm sure others are! Exactly the sort of post that makes BC such a great forum - thanks Carl!

Yum. Looking fantastic.

I'm going to put this out there just once, in case Rob gets swamped. This is a really generous and genuine offer. Rob very kindly printed me a new grip for an ancient but expensive microphone, where the plastic had crumbled with age. He really represents the best of the BassChat community.

until about 10 years ago my go-to was a Marshall AS50, bought when they first came out, they do work really well as on-stage monitoring as well as having a very good Di output for feeding the desk/PA. I've found that on-stage monitors and IEM's have got better recently though so slimming my kit down to just a Di/multi fx unit makes load in/out so much easier (one guitar case and a bag) I still own the AS50 and have even used it as a mini PA for very small rooms, the Acoustic cube is as a personal monitor really, it can be screwed onto a mic stand to get it up to ear level so the volume can be very low. when i'm playing with the band i'm often doubling on u-bass or EUB as well so using the provided monitors is so much easier than carrying amps (i've also just built a combined board that i can plug both instruments intro, with 2 eq pedals, A/B pedal then tuner and a single radial Di at the end (one feed to the PA trhat can then be set flat with all the volume and tone shaping done at the pedalboard.) when i'm playing in church it's just the T-Rex Soulmate Acoustic required ( we use IEM's) and this fits into a bag with a couple of cables etc. Matt

Thank you very much. The obvious answer is to give her my tiny Mackie Desk that I do not use at all, ever. But something smaller with fewer options would be great.

No photos but the seven piece "little big band" packed the hall last night with over 100 people and very few seats left empty. We have had very few rehearsals and only a couple of gigs in a store and a museum where we just played as folks walked by and I was expecting a pretty ragged show but the band came together really well and we even had to play an encore which is very unusual at this venue. We had two vocalists with us last night for the first time and both did a fine job on some Christmas tunes and classic jazz vocals and they also did a couple of duets and the audience loved them. Usual rig, Shen SB100 and Realist Life Line pickup with NuX wireless into a music stand mounted Schatten Design preamp that only has a volume control into a Bose PA and I had some good comments from a double bass player about my sound and playing. I love having that preamp right on the music stand, I can easily adjust my volume to fit the song. The band played well and the crowd was really with us, all in all a very good night.

I think I'm in the minority of Lionel owners in liking the more modern sound of the stock pup, I haven't missed having a Jazz.

Yep, this is the one I referred to....but it's got a 70's TV 'Fender Precision Bass 'logo, so that's another inaccuracy on the cash grab 50th one. -

Around ‘81 he used a black one, so appears it’s based on that. But still, no thanks. The price is nuts. -

So, a very quick and rough bash with some recording. SRay5 straight into the GP-5, into my interface. Haven't set it up as an independent interface yet. Bass mp3 file - 2 NAM files downloaded from Tone3000 - EBS Bass Rig first, GR Bass Cube second and then the standard finger bass preset the GP-5 comes with. the rest should be as they are described. very much FX loaded as they come - very little faffing or editing (please excuse the playing) - will hopefully give you an idea. The only thing for me is controlling how much FX (chorus etc.) that you can add - no wet / dry mix level - or am I missing something here?? I would have liked a touch more chorus and phaser. But, I don't really need a phaser so it's a moot point for me! Anyway... I hope this helps. It's a great little pedal - I only really intend to use it as a preamp / NAM loading pedal with maybe a smidge of chorus so will suit me perfectly! Carl. So the order is: Bass with Chorus and reverb Bass with chorus Bass drive (preset) Bass and octaver - probably it's weak point Bass phaser Bass slap (preset) Bass NAM files and bass finger preset Bass Chorus Reverb.mp3 Bass Chorus.mp3 Bass Drive.mp3 Bass Octaver.mp3 Bass Phaser.mp3 Bass Slap.mp3 Bass.mp3

Cosmic Metallic pedal sold. I've been collecting and pedal-testing solidly since COVID but a lot's been happening this year and, as my priorities are changing, it's time to start letting some of these pedals go, including those that six months ago it would have been unthinkable selling. Up on the block are a couple of Doom 2s, one being the standard gain unit (in Cosmic Metallic (the purple one)) SOLD and a high gain unit (in Jade Sparkle)). Both units are from the limited runs of 100 in 2023 and are the latest spec. £360 each (including UK Royal Mail Special Delivery postage). Neither has been used on a pedalboard and they're basically mint in box. The Wicked theme was not intentional. I'm not really looking for trades at this point but there are a handful of pedals I'm curious about: COG T-70 v2; Hamstead Subspace GE, and Chase Bliss Spectre.

I first saw it on a run of Gibson Les Paul Custom Shops a while ago and has always sat at the back of my mind. So has been bubbling away for some time.

That’s a fair comment, I get up around 12ft quite often….usually to adjust intonation 😂
