    The internet is forever! I forgot about that post which was just after I bought it. I was convinced that it was a Status energy but I asked AI to identify it and for many reasons it said it wasn’t. Moral of the story, don’t trust AI.     Honestly @lee650 the lady singer I work with loves the passive tone out of that sire. She’s owns a gretsch 6 but is bass-curious and I keep trying to corrupt her to the righteous path of bass.

    After my last gig a week or so before Christmas, I couldn't be bothered to drop this lot back at the studio so the SVT and it's Ashdown cab spent the holiday in the living room. I've modified the crossover to make the HF unit in the cab a touch louder plus I removed the white piping around the edge of the speaker grille to make the cab look a bit more 'Ampeg' although I think I may have gone a little too far with the badge.. 😆 Suffice to say there's been a few more hours on both since the last post - the Celestion Pulse drivers have settled down very well and seem a little more 'solid' sounding than the O/E Sica units. The Skunk has given no trouble and continues to sound great - for the last few gigs, we've have had reasonably long sets and, whether it's been hot or cold in the venue, the Ampeg has simply gotten on with it. I still need to sort the patching issue and see if there's a way of quietening that bloody fan down - maybe the one from the anniversary re-issue is the correct voltage / spec? Anyways, as of early 2026, I'm still very happy with it - the SVT continues to charm me with it's special and unique character.. 🥰

    If I'd got my butt in gear and tried to get rid of my Bongo 5HH I could have made a move! Really must get on to that so if opportunities like this come up I can move on them! It's a really stunning bass and the PJ pick up combo would probably be more use to me than another double humbucker bass!

    I used to gig aBF Compact, but missed the added 200Hz ‘boom’ that my older, shitter cabs used to give me, so went back to an Ampeg 4x10”. Then I realised that I’d stopped using said cabs due to weight and bulk, so I made myself a 1x12” that ticks all of the boxes.
