Am currently leaning towards the Nano (but will probably have changed my mind again by tomorrow!!!!) the thing that puts me most off the Anagram (and the full size QC) is having something so expensive on the floor, at great risk of being stepped on by the punters and having drink spilled on it. my Shure wireless pedal was almost taken out by a glass of wine at Saturdays gig, and even my brand new amp got a soaking!

My circular saw proved capable of cutting a triple layer sandwich (once I set the cut height right). I used a different cutting pattern as I was cutting a maximum of 610mm - first a cut across at 300mm, then a second and third at 376mm. After that, I stacked the three pieces and cut at 276mm twice, so a total of five cuts. First, I made the sled - I'd glued and screwed a length of batten across the panel, and just cut across using that as a guide. Then I clamped up for the first cut, and found that when I'd just nipped up the fixing bolt for the blade that my definition of nipped up and the instructions definition of nipped up are different. Once rectified, off we went. The first cut is the shallowest. After that first cut, I was able to use the piece I'd just cut off to rest the other side of the circular saw base on. Another cut the same and then I stacked the wood. And at last got to the final cut. I still have to cut out holes in the front and rear.

Got a loom from John for a five string VM Squier Precision that I had picked up cheap. John was an absolute gentleman to deal with from initial enquiry and throughout. The loom arrived well packed with clear instructions and has made a mahooosive difference to the old bass. With flatwounds on, the tone coming from the bass goes from thudding rumble with the tone rolled off to almost roundwound zing with it up full. cheers, Pat

John bought a CD from me in a top transaction. Thanks, John - you’re a recommended Basschatter!

Yeah I think folks are alluding to it being a Marshall type. Trying to think of the link between those artists in terms of a bit of gear. -
Having owned a QC, the capturing process is great. If you want to capture your own gear and you’re not interested in having lots of fx the Nano will be awesome. If you’re not bothered about making your own captures and you’re looking to experiment with more effects and complex signal chains then the Anagram is the way. I’ve not used one but I’ve heard some pretty amazing and reliable reviews.

Ergonomics for sure... the forearm and belly cuts. Then he had a bit of a wobble with the Jazz Shaping and those Single Coils again! I have a Harley Benton PB50 modder and myopia - saved a bundle! -
A little tease. Wasn't sure about which Chameleon patch was more accurate when I made them yesterday (I need to go back with fresh ears). FI4 tease.mp3

Does Size Matter? Is 8” Big Enough?
Bill Fitzmaurice replied to Chienmortbb's topic in PA set up and use
To paraphrase Disraeli there are lies, there are damned lies, and there are specifications. 😮 No eight inch driver can take 650 watts continuous mechanically. No eight inch driver in a direct radiating enclosure can produce 126dB continuous. This is an example of the marketing department writing a cheque that the engineering department can't cover. Yes, most companies play the same game, but that doesn't make it any less dishonest. 🤥 -
Many thanks. I’ve lived with these suites for four decades and on a variety of instruments and tunings, with each instrument and tuning bringing out different shades and colours. There are worst ways to spend one’s time.

Have you tried playing it an octave up to see if it tracks better, you can always octave down the output, but that would half the required pitch detection time, which might be enough?

Correct, you can route your dry input into the filter (with separate pre- and post-distortion level controls) without having the synth be active; this is how I program stuff like envelope filters on the FI. Any standard cheap USB-to-MIDI cable will work. Worth having a read of the FAQs at the end of the manual as it may answer stuff you want to know.

***PRICE DROP NOW £1300*** 2010 US Stingray, 2EQ, CAR with rosewood board. One of the limited edition 133 basses, full fat ‘ray but with a soft gig bag case instead of a hard shell job. This is in excellent condition with one very minor ding on the top edge, and the pickguard is quite marked but obviously easily replaceable. Comes with a Hipshot D-tuner (long key though instead of short… doh), if you want the original tuner key I’ll chuck it in. I’ve also replaced the pickup with a Nordstrand MM4.2, which sounds flippin’ great. She’s quite heavy (10lb) but with a decent wide strap it feels ok. ***EDIT*** now comes with the option of a Warwick Rockbass semi-rigid case - photos added. Loathe to post this but can at buyer’s (insured) expense, or can meet in person at either Portsmouth, Southsea, Southampton or Lymington (I’m on the I.O.W.)
