I'm sorry to hear of the demise of Marvin's Minimax, but without wishing to appear insensitive to his loss, I'm interested to make mine have a silent fan. I've just opened it up, and the current fan is 60x20mm, 24v, 0.11A and two cable (see pic below) (unlike the ones recommended earlier which were three cable). Would this be a good choice?: Jopto 2PCS Mini Brushless Silent 3D Printer Cooling Fan 60x60x20mm 6020 DC 24V Fan With 2 Pin Terminal Compatible With Laptop 3D Printer PC CPU Computer Cases For DIY With 30cm/11.81inch Cable : Amazon.co.uk: Business, Industry & Science

Hi everyone Selling this Aguilar rig .The amp was up for sale recently and withdrawn as a friend wanted to buy it. Unfortunately this deal has not materialised due to some sad circumstances and so now I am re listing it along with an SL410 it is an extraordinary rig with power/ width/ girth - almost a physical experience as well as tonally One of the greatest amps that still is seen on stages all over the world it is in a sleeve which is in good condition The cab is in very good condition with no tears and only a couple of light scuffs Price wise, I am happy to discuss but the amp is around £1350 ovno and the cab at £650 ovno Happy to split, answer any questions and discuss shipping Thanks for looking and just ask if you need Open to offers.

WinterMute started following How do you know if music is AI.?
-
They said the same things about Dylan going electric, synthesisers, MIDI, Non-linear recording systems, Autotune... They were all the death of music at one point or other. AI will end up being a tool in the hands of people making music, and if it ever gets to the point where it comes up with anything as good a While My Guitar Gently Weeps or Tom Sawyer or Birdland or Beethoven's 5th by itself, then all the better, more good music to listen too. Frankly, there is too much chaos and random chance in the creation of masterworks, I don't think AI will ever come close to rivalling that.

Personally I'd try to put a significant deposit down if I really really wanted it, and have it put aside for me. And collecting the last 100 meanwhile. Shouldn't be much of a problem I think.

Decal applied. Not perfectly 100% straight, but certainly much closer than the one that was on there originally. -

Diamond Eyes and Gore are still on constant rotation for me - White Pony remains one of my all time favourite albums. I got into them when Around The Fur came out. going to see them in Manchester…not sure who’s on guitar though as Mr Carpenter won’t fly anymore.

This is Mike Beigel’s small format, 9V recreation of his legendary Mu-Tron III pedal. This is in excellent condition and not used as much as I thought I would ( another Chilis Project never came off ) Comes with original box and paperwork. Price includes next day shipping Trades, I am after a Digitech Drop Tuner so that would be of interest

I have only heard the first half of the album but I quite like it so far. The whole sound of Deftones has changed post Chi. Carpenter now generally uses 8 string guitars which takes up a lot of low end space. The bass now takes up a lot of the midrange and doesn't have much sub-frequency content. Even when Sergio was in the band he often wasn't even playing downtuned like Chi was previously. I don't think it is bad at all, just different. Still sounds like Deftones to me, though I actually like Diamond Eyes and Koi No Yokan more than a lot of the earlier albums.

Had my first real test with the GP-5 over the weekend, back to back gigs with a solid, well organised soul band (GP-5 on my board at the end). I used just one effect all night, the "finger bass" (that had felt right for this band in my testing) and got compliments from the guys on my tone (more than for my playing 😂) so happy days with the GP-5 so far.... VID20250824205002.mp4 It's so convenient and versatile, today I popped it off the board with 5V, bass and headphones wired in for some song learning...Insert existing attachment

Three (!) gigs this weekend Friday was the Cantina Band at the Vaults in Knowle for guitarist Steve's 50th. A good laugh, a decent turnout, Steve insisted nobody drive so we could all have a few drinks and who am I to argue? One of his daughters (14? or 15?) joined us on drums for 5 or 6 songs, she's really good! She made the mistake of knowing the songs and playing them properly, which really threw the rest of us. His other daugter (11? or 12?) joined us to sing A-P-T, which was great, she gave it loads! We also had a friend of the band on additional guitar so Steve could go and have a few (more) drinks. Mrs StingRayBoy came, she loved it which is always nice... I joined her on the "dancefloor" for the last song, first time I've ever smooched someone while playing. Played the Sterling -> small board -> Amp board -> Mark CMD 121p, Silver/Gold glittery Converse. Saturday was Azura (3 piece) at O'Neill's Leicester. Dep drummer (Little Nige) who's been gigging since I was a glint in the Milkman's eye, lovely bloke, great drummer. Good gig, bit seat of the pants, usual drunken rabble... one bloke thought we were Grandad, Father and Son (The ages are about right, to be fair), we played Happy Birthday to three people (all at the same time (Alison and two others whose names escape me)), we did 'I'm a hog for you baby' which Little Nige sang - great song and a ton of fun to play. First outing for my (Basschat purchased) LD IEMs which worked flawlessly - happily, the band use the same system so I didn't even have to set up the transmitter. Went for a wireless wander for the encore (Don't look back in anger (Don't judge me, it's a Saturday night pub gig)) which was an absolute hoot. Same setup (and footwear) as Friday. A good night, except I didn't get home until gone 3 o'clock. Sunday Afternoon was the Sax Pistols at the King's Arms in Cleeve Prior. How the BL finds these gigs, I'll never know... tiny little village with about four houses (and the King's Arms) It was a 'reopening under new ownership' type affair, a good few people there, we went down well, we played OK, we sounded pretty good. The whole band (apart from the drummer) use wireless mics, so there was plenty of strolling about, especially for 'Tequila' and 'Minnie the Moocher' which is always fun and goes down well. There was a Delorean there! (Weirdly, Mrs StingRayBoy had seen a different Delorean on the M5 about two weeks ago) Oh, and two blokes dressed as Spiderman (He's a web designer... he sorts out the bugs) and Superman for some reason. I went off charts for the first time, not entirely unsuccessfully. Played the Sousaphone, wore the same Converse. A good weekend!

PaulKing started following Tailpiece Jack Clip
-
After a busy weekend (four festivals in four days!), I can report that my new tailpiece jack clip performed perfectly ... even when the power went on my whole pedal board mid-song, meaning I had to rip out the jack and plug direct into amp in a big hurry. Previously would've risked fiddly velcro coming loose and jack falling off tailpiece - but no such trouble. I was back in business before the final chorus, and a massive Twinwood Festival dance floor didn't miss a beat! Very nice, simple, rugged bit of kit. Shoulda got them a long time ago. Thanks @bassace for supplying three clips, one for each of my main gigging basses, with options on mounting screw length. FYI - Underwood is just OK with the smaller clip, Shadow hexagonal barrel deffo needs the bigger clip!
