  2. Didn't you buy a lovely looking Japanese Jazz in the Summer, WoT? Lovely looking example of an AVII you have there! If you get a good one, the American Vintage/Original/Vintage II Jazzes are some of the very best around. I know what people mean about the side dot markers - the ones on my American Original just about disappear on a dark stage, but it's no real issue usually. It looks like yours has a single piece back, too. That always improves resonance. I've been very impressed by the '66 pickups (used a set in a custom build bass earlier this year and just bought some more for my MGCS/Aurok Walnut/Graphite Jazz build. Oh, and Lollipop tuners for the win! Congrats
  3. MARSHALL BB-2 Not to be confused with the original Bluesbreaker pedal, which was essentially a preamp-in-a-box - this is a dedicated, dual-mode overdrive pedal. "Boost" mode is a transparent-sounding clean boost, designed to push the front end of your amp harder, while "Blues" mode gives a much more shaped (and saturated!) tone, reminiscent of the original Bluesbreaker amps being dimed. I bought this pedal back in something like 2010. It was my main distortion effect for a while, and did a handful of gigs with me, but as I've experimented with new effects and different amps, I find myself using it less and less. I still have the original box and user's manual, which are a little worn in places (see pictures); the pedal itself is in excellent condition. Only one thing: the controls originally had black position indicators painted on them, which have mostly rubbed off over the years. Up to you whether you leave them as is, or paint some new ones on! Price includes postage to mainland UK. If you'd like it sent to a different country, drop me a PM. Open to sensible offers!
  4. @King Tut I’ve done the scientific weigh myself three times, weigh me and the bass three times, and then take the average difference between the two, and the bass weighs 4.4kg (or 9.7lbs for those who prefer old money).

    Valeton GP-5

Mine is coming from Temu as well - about £20 as you mentioned. Bargain for that price! Amazon was quicker for delivery but and extra £15 or so...
  6. Love The Fleece, great venue.
  7. For anyone in the south west interested in this bass, I’ll be in Bath on Friday and Saturday and Gloucester on Sunday. Happy to bring it along for anyone that wants to check it out
  8. I don’t see it as cowardly (necessarily). Part of being an adult is to know which battles you can win, which you might win and which you definitely won’t, regardless of moral right or wrong and so walking away from #3 Blazing screaming rows don’t benefit anyone.
  9. Hi Tony, I would say the tension is very similar to TIs and they are super smooth! David
  10. I got mine off Aliexpress and Temu (got two, long story). Arrived within a week and cost about £20 each. I couldn't find anywhere in the UK that sold them at a reasonable price.
  11. So I am going for a short scale, but as It is because of an injury, I don’t want to pay out too much as, once I have recovered, I may go back to 34” basses. I have a bass that was paid for with some of the money my Mum left me. So the question is Hartwood Delta or Harley Benton MV-4MSB? The Harley Benton looks great but is not immediately available. The Hartwood Delta is available and the only downside is that I like black basses. If we ignore the colour issue, what should I go for?
  12. Been there! I know so many amazing drummers down here in the Thames valley. Lovely times ❤️
  13. Fascinating. I’m late to the party on this one, and it’s been many years since I was in this kind of situation, but the memory is fresh. It’s always interesting to me that some musicians develop enormous egos, some pass through that stage, some don’t. The ones that don’t are often the ones who don’t progress musically anyway - which is usually a sign they’re not that great. They’re the ones who still crank volume WAY too high and rehearsals and gigs, take ludicrous solos (and yes, you always sigh inwardly during the gig when that happens) and generally have the diva thing going on if there’s something else in their lives bothering them which has FA to do with the gig. My take is always to be the coward. If that stuff starts rearing its ugly head, wait until you feel like it’s not fun, then bow out and find something more fun to do. Tell them you need something fresh, or you need a change of direction, anything useful. The egomaniac will know, in their heart of hearts, exactly why you’re going, but it won’t make any difference to their behaviour, and you’ll hear whispers about the whole thing fizzling out a few weeks later. Sesame Street: A is for a*%hole 😂🤣 (jk)(a bit)
  14. Been eyeing this up for a while. If i can shift my Rickenbacker any time soon id be all over this. Have a bump on me
  15. LowEndLobster has posted a video about an EHB1005 with the EMG E6W pickups. No woodwork was required on the pickup slots.
  16. In my ongoing quest for the perfect shortie strings I stuck a set of La Bella IMA signatures on my Lionel. I really like the feel of these on my 34 scale Sandberg but the tension of the set is a bit high in regular tuning, but on a shortie they feel perfect. The Lionel has full sized machinehead posts so there's been no string damage winding them - the strings are groundwound rather than a flat and still very round feeling to me, but with much lower string noise than most others. Very reasonably priced at Bass Direct as well - I will be getting more of them. I asked IMA himself on IG about other options and he tells me that there won't be other gauges coming (boo!) but short scale versions are expected (yay!). So for basses with smaller string posts it looks like some will become available.
  17. I saw that No Treble featured one of G. Gould (founder of Modulus) basses as their "Bass of the Week", intrigued by the graphite composite neck I googled them.... I was met with some genuine early 2000s internet nostalgia in the form of their website - https://www.ggould.com/home.html In this day and age of fancy websites filled with Ads and banners. This hard to read, picture heavy website is a fun change and reminds me of the "good old days". Nice basses too.
  18. It does and thanks 👍👌😊
  19. I play my SL Lionel a lot more than my SL TT4 these days. Sometimes I wonder about selling the TT4 and maybe getting the TT Lionel version instead so I still have P and J options. Or just another P Lionel. I seem to be moving away from J sounds in general.
  20. LEKATO WS-100 2.4G Wireless System with Charging Box – LEKATO I offer up these two wireless systems, 1 (pair) x LEKATO and 1 (pair) x A8 Original sound transmitter. The El Cheapo works the same as its more expensive cousin, both with charging cables. BOGOF
  21. This pedalboard has been never used out side my shed/den/office/hideaway. I loaded it many times in different configurations, so it show minimum signs of wear. Here’s the small one I had it loaded an then bought the large one. This is the first iteration of the big one. https://nuxaudio.com/product/bumblebee/
