I tried the head upstairs with with different cab. Not as buzzy, but still there. Oddly enough when I would move the Pbass around the sound would change. @ClusterOne may be on to something as it or the cords seemed to be acting like an antenna (maybe). I tried my 500 iii and did notice some of the same thing when in front of the cab downstairs. I never noticed it before because the two fans cover it up, unless right in front of the cab. Not as loud, but something there nonetheless. I think Wed night I will take it to where it will get the most use and see what happens.

Feasibility of setting up a custom build business. Interest?
Kiwi replied to NancyJohnson's topic in General Discussion
Well, baby steps for now. We are still establishing but none of it would be possible without the trust of those who put deposits down for the first batch of necks. So Im incredibly grateful for their support. I'll find a way of better recognising them at some point. -
How was Your rehearsal last morning or night ?
Stub Mandrel replied to nilorius's topic in General Discussion
Rehearsal... really a catch-up as we (Bendricks Rock) haven't gigged for about 6 weeks. most of us met at the pub for a chat beforehand to agree new songs. Drummer was late so went straight there... no booking. Turns out my "That's great, 8-11." email wasn't interpreted as a 'yes'... but they had a room free and it was the best one (nearly twice the size with a high ceiling, no extra cost). Session went ok, we just focused on about ten songs where we felt things can get scrappy. Did some bvs for the first time since covid hit three weeks ago. Still got a bit of a cough but coped ok. My new earplugs are great with the 12dB inserts. I've used them three times now. Quieter but still loud enough to feel engaged, full range with clarity but cymbal crashes and snare hits have the edge taken right off. -

Exactly. The best way to make a fan quiet is to make it bigger and slower.

thing is they are all inconsistent enough I think I'ld be tempted to play them. If I were looking I remember liking the old AVRI stuff... but not so much whenever it was the '62ri turned into a '63ri - but that's one opinion based on a limited sample size of half a dozen basses. Japanese are good as I think they are more consistent. One of the best Fender P basses I tried was Mexican ... but others have been dogs. If I were in the market and had the budget I'ld be driving to try this and see if it justified it, just cos it looks cool.

This is generally true. If you need to move a cable and insert/remove it often, you need quality connectors. For patch cable the connectors and cable is less important.

Ive just found a TCE Mojomojo in my wardrobe. Forgot I had that. Another cheap option.

Thanks Paul. That's what I was hoping. I've just put it away but will take a pick in the morning. Just had a look. Lots of wires as PJ with 3 band active EQ with passive volume and tone with an active/passive switch and 3 way pickup selector.

That's a strange one Lozz. I've been using the same Whirlwind instrument cable since the late 80's and the sound has always been fine. Maybe something was wrong with the cable?

Not tried the Future Impact yet? It does these sounds with ease. Shocked to discover my KZ IEMs are rubbish
MichaelDean replied to kiat's topic in Accessories and Misc
I was a big fan of my KZ ZX10s until I took a long break from them and I don't like them at all now. On a whim I bought these budget earbuds: QKZ ZXT. I'm pretty blown away for the price and as a single driver unit. The same foam tips that fit the KZ stuff for these. The highs aren't harsh, they still have replaceable cables, and they're under a tenner. They're not flat response, but they sound musical. I'd wager they'd be a good backup set of IEMs. https://a.aliexpress.com/_EvHNp8K -

I've just managed to bugger my yamaha bb110d that has been my go to bass for over 30 years. I've somehow snapped off the active/passive switch and am now getting no sound. Does anyone know if this is an easy enought fix or can recommend someone good with electrics/preamps in the Bristol area. Thanks

I am the happy new owner of Kev's Trondheim overdrive pedal, and very lovely it is too! Top bloke to deal with, the pedal was just as described and arrived the next day.
