  3. This little bass caught my attention... and accidentally fell into my bass rack!

I think that as a user, I'd also be inclined to use a MIDI FS to extend the three buttons. Maybe something like the MVAVE Chocolate, though the QC has 8 buttons and I often have many of them assigned per 'pedal board'. For volume and expression, I'd like to try a smaller pedal like those from Paint Audio, but not the tiny versions as I'm a size 13 in ma slippers!

  7. Gosh! That sounds very well thought out and I'm very impressed by your attention to level detail. A cidered-up audience will smell very appealing... apple... peeling... I'll get my coat.
  8. Apparently not - the reviews say people have them fitted in Broncos without any modification. I think the pickup itself is the wrong size for a typical 51-style P Bass. There's a YouTube video from the Tape Farm where he says the same thing about this pickup too. We'll see when it arrives.

It's been a busy week here at Dood Towers, but I did get to power up Anagram last night albeit somewhat briefly. My initial reaction is that the UI is really simple to navigate and I managed most actions without the need for a manual, which is always good for those with RTFMaphobia. Looking forward to getting my basses connected and then I will collate these questions to include in my video review.
  10. No problems, it's been a confusing topic because it's a bit weird. There's been lots of "well maybe it's a capture", "if you add a distortion block in front of it it sounds great", "I only use a clean sound anyway" answers, but nothing clarifying what's actually happening
  11. Took this in a part exchange for my old p bass recently but it hasn’t been getting any use. Sounds and plays lovely but it’s just not what I’m after currently so need to move it along! open to offers/trades things im after; pedaltrain classic jr, ideally hard cased pedalboard power supply mxr bass octave pedal
  12. As others have said the holds of all modern planes are pressed and temperature controlled. Animals are regularly transported this way. Your cab will be fine, although it would be best cased or otherwise properly packaged as though you were going to send it by carrier service. About 10 years ago someone on the SOS forum did a test with a max/mim thermometer in their hold luggage. I can't find the thread right now otherwise I would have posted a link, but the outcome was that the hold temperature pretty much corresponded to the cabin temperature for the flight. The only time in the last 25 years I have flown in a plane where the hold probably wasn't pressurised and temperature controlled, all the important luggage was transported in unused seats in the cabin under scrim netting. Also the whole flight was at an altitude low enough for me to easily make out vehicles on the roads we passed over so there wouldn't have been much pressure difference in unpressurised hold compartments.
  13. You'll need to get a small file, as it'll be slightly too big for the pickguard.

In terms of QC captures, I think there is a lot more to it than capturing a single sound. Its effectively machine learning, the QC sends all kinds of signals into the device it is capturing for several minutes and "learning" what each signal makes the device do. So, in effect it absolutely does capture amp break-up and reproduces it rather well.
  15. If you haven't tried already, I'd recommend listing on TheFretboard UK forum (it's free) - Polite community and several of the longstanding members have S2s as their No. 1.
  16. There was one for sale some years ago in France at a decent price, when I was in my JD years, it took time to sell and I should have bought it, but preferred an immaculate white Mark King "signature". 🤷
  17. Welcome! The Zoom B1-4 is a wonderfully good value piece of kit - this thread may be of interest to you: Zoom B1-4 & B3N - Effects patch ideas and tips - Effects - Basschat

  19. No that's a CW-2; that's one of the later one's that doesn't have the graphite through neck though I believe it could still be ordered with the carbon fibre shell like on the original CW-1.
  20. You don't need to be a master of 'online etiquette' to understand saying 'Insert Name Remembered' 100% suggests they've died, in any context. I don't see a single ''histrionic'' response, until the 'world gone mad' comment, that is.
  21. Lozz, I've had 4 of the Alder bodied ones through my hands, they've all been near as dammit 7.5lbs. The ash ones are a pound heavier. Alder is used on the relic and gloss painted ones. I know what you mean regarding Thomann's enquiries on specific basses though; I bought a B stock Lionel from them last year and enquired on the condition before buying. I was assured it was just a return and it had minimal signs of handling; as it was a soft relic I was happy with this and placed the order. When I received the bass it was in a rough condition, the back was ripped up with buckle wear and it was grime ridden. In comparison to the gold soft relic I already had it looked like it had been dragged behind a car. It went back but it took me 6 weeks (and a couple of email reminders) before I got my money back.
  22. I must say, I'm becoming more and more enamoured with the idea of the Anagram. It sounds great based on YouTube demos. Being able to have a few NAM pedals might make my external effects redundant too. My main sticking point is the three footswitches. I'd need a MIDI footswitch with an expression pedal input of some sort to make it more useable for me. I was playing around with a pedalboard designer based around the Anagram and my current needs if money was no object and this is what I came up with. That's on a Harley Benton Spaceship 40, so not a huge board.

This is getting silly. @Dood - you need to cover break up of amp models in a mini review!
  24. 2 years is after they actually put in an extra production line a few years ago! If they hadn't done that, then it would have been 4! I got mine in 1 year almost to the day in 2023.
  25. It was an innocent mistake by someone who probably didn’t understand the normal etiquette on a forum. The histrionic responses are what they are. Polite personal message could have sorted it all out. Guess it’s how forums work. Hey ho. I need a lie down…

  27. UPDATE: Zoom Effect Manager 2.2.0 works as plug&play with my B1Xfour as with all my other (previous gen) Zooms. And no, effects can't be "migrated" from one gen to the other. It's generation coherent, meaning, depending on the model you connect it shows available effects from any SAME GENERATION devices. The good thing is ZEM also compresses effects for the B1Xfour (same as it does with previous models). I had 80 something FX at 100% memory (previously tuned with zoom-zt2, so no compression). When plugged to ZEM it showed less than 80% used. So I kept adding stuff (mostly more guitar and bass amp/cab/drive sims, the upright effect from the A1four and a couple more reverbs/delays -I keep SFX/REV/DLY categories minimalistic, I don't use those much-). I ended up with 111 effects at 100% memory with ZEM. Not the outrageous 182 effects my MS-60B holds inside, but still real cool 👍
