  1. Past hour
  2. Sorry to hear that Owen 😕 I do hope things work out for you
  3. That was my impression. 3/4 sales must outnumber 4/4 sales by a fairly large margin. Better to shift 4/4 to make room for stock that sells.
  4. I am all for this inside info. But who are they?
  5. This is an amazing bass, I love Sterlings and the 5 is very special. This one looks a peach. A great price too. I'd jump at the chance if had the funds and didn't already have one. Anyone tempted should snap this up. GLWTS.
  6. Just re-read your OP and noticed ‘read tab fluently’. I think that’s quite unusual, but unfortunately not that useful (in this context). With one tribute band I have had the keyboard player send me the ‘bass pad’ in standard notation, to learn before the gig; otherwise I’ve been expected to learn the set myself.
  7. One day, we'll venture South... which brings us nicely on topic; certain bands might (and I'm blowing our trumpet) be better than the real thing but you can't justify the travel fro the gig!
  8. Jim very kindly answered my items wanted for a TC Polytune. He really couldn't have done more to make this transaction any easier. A true gentleman & a credit to our Basschat community. 🙏
  9. Doesn't let you get past the shipping page...
  10. It’s not about size necessarily, it’s about the sound it makes. For me, it makes the right sound
  11. One day, I will venture North and see a Cheat Trick show. From what I've seen on YT, it's fantastic.
  12. I've been tempted. For £63 with the discount code, it seems rude not to, especially when I sold a guitar recently and there's another bass I've been looking to sell! Let's see what turns up. Should be here on the 2nd. https://www.bax-shop.co.uk/electric-bass-guitars/fazley-outlaw-series-judge-plus-green-electric-bass-guitar-with-gig-bag
  13. Bought for some gear I never got. I’ve managed to missplace the shoulder strap if I find it I’ll chuck it in but assume it’s missing Price Includes UK Shipping
  14. New mixer means surplus to needs. V Good Cindition 18'' x 18'' x 5.5'' Multi-Purpose Mixer & Equipment Bag Rugged Black Nylon Exterior & Tricot-Lined Interior 10mm Dual-Layer Padded Protection External Storage Pockets With Cord Management Removable Shoulder Strap & Ergonomic Handles Price Includes UK Postage
  15. I'm sure it works well, but it doesn't really counter my 8 year old thought, there are plenty of more powerful Class D options that would fit in that gap and do an equal or better job. Makes total sense if you had the head already, but if you were actively seeking one for that job, I still don't get why anyone would choose the Elf, unless budget was a real issue (though I'm sure you can get other Class D heads now with more power for the price, so not sure it's even budget anymore!)
  16. Xmas party mood Daryl, works well at this time of year when you play Glam. Dave
  17. I used one of these years ago in an arty surf band project to make some great sounds. Very versatile. GLWTS!
  18. Today
  19. Very nice Dave. You guys really know how to fill a dance floor. Daryl
  20. Bona: Il Nuovo Bona Vol.B: In Chiave di Basso Ricordi Hal Leonard "Il Nuovo Bona Vol.B: In Chiave di Basso" is a famous music theory and solfeggio method by composer Pasquale Bona, published by Ricordi, specifically focused on reading and learning in the bass clef (or F clef), essential for instrumentalists such as pianists, cellists, bassists and organists, offering progressive exercises for rhythmic and melodic division.
  21. Pardon my re-animating this old thread, but... My Hartke Kickback 12's amplifier started needing service and I had this head sitting on my desk. I had recently swapped out the original speaker of the combo since it had started rattling, and the new speaker (Hartke neo/Hydrive) is 4 ohms, so it draws the full 200w from the Elf. This little Velcro-cobble-together parlor rig has really been working out great for small gigs, acoustic/electric mini-band gigs, rehearsals and small room rock band gigs. I really like the sound, and though it's no Series 6 it does deliver a warm-like, gentle punch and throws really well. I've gotten very positive remarks about it, so it is delivering. This is the best small gig-rig yet, for me.
  22. It may be an error on the site, but I assumed it was a stock clearance item. Given a 4/4 case would cost you £100 it seems like a good deal. Hope it works out for you guys!
  23. Yeah that's annoying. I don't want or need one but £198 with 10% off that would be too good to miss.
  24. My mate has a Martinez hammer, it's great. Cost him over £300 yet he doesn't get a penny extra per nail than me with my old £22 Estwing or one of the young lads with a £9 Stanley. Hosco are a company marketing to the guitar 'hobbyist/luthier'; they don't manufacture themselves but buy from others. Stew Mac do the same. For a reliable cost effective tool it's best to bypass the niche sellers and go to manufacturing brands or specialist industry suppliers; for files that's fabrication and mould makers.
  25. Apologies if this is not the correct area! I have a custom made bass body that id like to get planed down a few mm. I wouldn't have the news to buy my own thicknesser and my local builders merchants have all told me they only plane their own timer (understandable as I've seen horror stories with stray nails destroying blades) Could anyone recommend anywhere that would offer this service? The bass in question is below, please be aware that the lighting has made some kind of optical illusion that makes it look like a well known design (in real life it is a BC rich war bastard stabby McGee shape)
